i need to know if the 50 pounds i gained while i was on methadone will come off now that i have switched to suboxone ## yes !!!! ## no ## I gained that much on methadone also. I have just lost my doc in mass for pain and need a doctor bad im in severe pain looking for doc that will write methadone oxycodone or fetanal patches that all worked for me in past please help ## You will need a copy of your medical records from your previous pain Dr It is highly doubt that a new Dr will start you out on the meds you were taking. I am on methadone maintenance took a saliva drug test and didnt want to test positive for meth. put water on the test will it come back inconclusive and be given another test? ## Anyone trying to pass cheek tests in methadone clinic just have to hold it between teeth and try not to get saliva on it but be careful bc if u do this they will retest u in a few days, bc even tho u passed for other drugs u also passed and show no methadone in ur system which will make them retest u in a few days. I've been sick for many days unable to keep anything down. I'm prescribed 120mg of liquid methadone daily. Is it safe to take it as a suppository? ## It will work if you take it that way but be wary of it's onset of action and available medication in the blood stream. Meds given rectally are absorbed much faster than orally. If you must take it this way I would not take the full dose until you know what the effects will be. Always discuss this with the prescribing MD.

I live over 70 miles from any methadone clinic. I'm in rural Pahrump, a city with zero treatment options. I'm waiting on a hip replacement. Everything hurts so much right now. Only my husband is working but I have to drive since he has no license. He can't miss work in the morning and my clinic closes at 11:30 so we are loosing his hours at work paying about 20$ a day in gas and I hurt so bad after this I can only drive us to the clinic every other day. Because of this they won't raise our doses or ever give us take homes. This can't go on. I need to get my surgery and stay clean (we both are clean about 5 months. I've been on a hundred and 20 milligrams of methadone for about a year now I'm currently also taking 15 milligrams twice a day of long-acting morphine and a PRN 15 milligram short-acting morphine every 6 hours my methadone clinic is making me taper off the methadone to go on pain management so right now I'm on 60 milligrams of methadone going down every week 10 milligrams is it safe for me to take suboxone once I've completely gotten off the methadone even though I'm going to still be on morphine. I am having trouble with the switch,not sleeping,eating,feel anxious,like I have taken 8000mg caffeine. It does help the pain but the side effects are so unpleasant. I had the same reaction with demerol, opana, & fentanyl. Does anyone have experience or suggestions. I have been on 100mg. of methadone for 5 years now and am going to be in hospital for and am going to need some serious pain medication. I know from previous experience that other pain meds do not work and take away pain when you have been taking methadone. What can I take for serious pain relief & how long do I have to be off of methadone for other narcotics to work???

My doctor will not believe me. When I take prednesone then methadone, the methadone does not seem to work at all. Now if I wait until then next day, putting up with pain all night long, the methadone does work the next day. Does anyone have any medical literature on this topic? My son 23, was the recipient of a failed surgery on his shoulder in 2007 , that ate away all of his cartilage, and has oseomyilitus of his arm and shoulder. This was due to an infection on the operating table. 7 operations in 10 days to save his arn and his life ensued. He was on diladuid for 6 years prescribed by pain docs, then his PC Doc. Building up a tolerance to diladuid, and not switching to other opiods eventually turned him to the dark side as he was not prescribed anymore. He wanted a methodone maintenance program, though they are not supposed to take pain patients, though compdrug might in his case, though he needs medicaid to qualify. I am on other meds and not feeling very well from being on methadone. What other meds should not be taken with methadone? ## Unfortunately, there are far too many for me to be able to list all of them for you. Can you please post back with a list of which ones you are taking? If so, I will be happy to check for you to see if there are any issues you should know about. Looking to ascertain total volume in miligrams of the combined active and inactive ingredients of a 5mg. and a 10mg. A friend of mine is on methadone. She missed two doses and was not able to get a ride to her clinic, so she took suboxone. Her job called her in for a random hair follicle test. Will she pass? ## Absolutely not. She will fail. It takes up to six months depending on how long the hair sample is.

I have bn taking 10mg of methadone daily for a year and recently cut down to 5mg i have bn taking 5mg for 3days as of today. I have to take a urine drug screen on Monday and today is thursday that will give approximately a little over 96 hrs to get my urine clean of the 5mg. Is it possible can I pass the urine test in 96hrs PLEASE HELP!! ## Methadone can stay in your system for a urine test for as long as 6 to 12 days after your last dose. Given the length of time you've been taking Methadone, I have my doubts that your urine will be clean in 4 days (96 hours). I wouldn't get your hopes up on doing so, but based on those numbers, passing a urine test may be a slim possibility. cant actually kick anything. why am I so weak willed? Im poor and getting poorer but nothing works. I live with three alcoholics, so theres no help of advise there. I have no family or friends. I've been on the methadone program for abit longer then a yr and I want to get off now, I can say for sure that I'm hooked on it.. Is it possible I can quit dry turkey? Without moving down milligram at a time or could I hurt myself by doing such a thing? ## Hi Jessika! I would suggest tapering down SLOWLY or you could go through some bad withdrawals. I was on methadone and tapered down slowly and still went through withdrawals. I ended up going on Suboxone. ## You should definitely NOT QUIT COLD TURKEY, especially since you've been on Methadone for over one year! Most people take the dose down by10mg until they reach 100 mg and then 5 mg per day. I went from 160 mg all the way down to 5 mg. Believe it or not, the 5mg worked and I didn't have bad withdrawals. i have been in the same pain management office for about 10 years. i had experimental back surgury in 2005. i had a titanium disc replacement in my lumber spine at l5-s1. since then the pain has gotten a lot worse. my pain management doctor tried me on a few different pain meds, but i decided percocet 5 3 times a day was sufficient. over time, my body built up a tolerance and i continued to get procedures there to help with the pain, but i kept telling my doctor i was still in excruciating pain. unfortunately, i couldn't handle the pain anymore and my boyfriend at the time started doing dope and convinced meta try it too. thank god it was only for a few months,that was over a year ago. i went back into my pain management center to get help and they put me on suboxone. i hate myself ...
