I have been on subutex for 2yrs but ran out a few days ago , so a friend gave me 3 old pills of methadone I been taken half a pill. My boyfriend is on Methodone 10mg and while it's very strong to where he talks to people who are not there it does take his pain away and he sleeps alot of hours. I have 4 mg of dilaudid but in on about 170mg of methadone, I recently feel and sprained my elbow and was wondering if this will take away the pain, or will I be taking it for no reason ## Hi Joanna from RI, because u r on such a high dose of methadone, taking the 4mg of Dilaudid will probably defeat the purpose. I wouldn't recommend taking the Dilaudid. You probably wouldn't get any effect from it anyway. But, I wouldn't mix the 2. I'm sorry 2 hear about your pain, I suffer everyday with pain. But, I'm on suboxone. Use 2 b on methadone, which helped much more with pain. But, I switched 2 suboxone. What a dumb move I made. I'm also from RI. The mother of my child is in a methadone program. She sleeps a lot and I've seen her nodding off on the couch but not lying back, sitting up! When I ask her about anything to do with her addiction problem she does not want to talk about it! If I press her she gets quick tempered and hostile! I think she's buying extra methadone and abusing it because she shows all the signs of it from what I've read about it and I fear for my child's safety! ## Yes, it is a narcotic opiate, so it could be discovered via various exams. I had a drug screen last month from my pain management doctor that I've seen for 3 years without ever failing one. Here's the list of drugs I supposedly had in me: methadone 4500 ng/mL, oxycodone 225 , heroin 3850, used within 24 hrs. of urine collection, morphine 3840, hydrocodone 1320, norhydrocodone 489, hydromorphone130, noroxycodone 225, 6-monoacetylmorphine 16. The methadone and oxycodone is what is prescribed to me by my doctor. I am a 57 year old female that doesn't abuse drugs. I took 25mg of methadone today at 11pm. This is the first ive had them in about a month or more, but i have a drug test in 36 hours and i have 2 detox drinks. Anyway i can test clean? I have read about Methadone being used as an anti depressant, does anyone know anything about this? When I was on low doses I was at my best ever in life. Not high, but just normal for the first time ever. l am a 56 years old female and been on Methadone for many years apart from gaining weight which seems to be the norm. I recently moved back to Galveston from Louisiana and need a pain clinic. I took methadone 10 X 3 for 20 years and now taking oxycodone. I want to go back to work but need to control pain from cervical fusion, nerve damage, and blown out discs. Nerve blocks don't work. I have insurance but will pay cash if necessary. Have been driving back to Louisiana every couple of months but that won't work if I do.

I have been taking 10mg Methadone tabs every morning for about 20 days. My question is... I wanted off of them before my body became dependent, so yesterday morning I took 10mg, and about 4 hours later took a 15mg extended release morphine. Felt pretty normal. This morning, no Methadone but took the morphine. I want to know if I'm going to experience any kind of withdrawal symptoms? If so, I know that it has a very long half life, when will symptoms start? I'm getting drug tested regularly as its part of condition to get my 5 month old baby girl home. Everything was going great until I started failing drug tests for opiates when nearing the end of the assessment but problem was I've taken no drugs only the methadone I'm prescribed but after a process of elimination I worked out it was the bread I was eating, it had poppy seeds in it. I stopped eating the bread around 5 weeks ago on a Friday then from the Monday I've passed rigorous testing which tells me it was the bread which caused my previous failed tests but they tell me now it's impossible for poppy seeds to cause a fail. I have been on methadone for chronic pain for 15years. 2 1/2 years ago I was on 180mg a day. I started tapering off a year ago first 5mg every 10 days then the last 6 months or so I went to 5mg every 7 days.was doing fin till I got down to 10mg but keep pushing through it.this last Friday only had 3mg then next day 2mg then this last Sunday only 1mg. Can anyone tell me how long withdrawls last and how fast I should detox? I need to get off this stuff but I'm actually scared of how i will feel. Can anyone help? ive been on suboxzone for well over 4 years and have been experiencing not being able to sleep. I will not come to bed i end up sitting upright in a chair all night and waking up every 1-2 hours. Hi all. I'm really hoping someone here can help me. I suffer from a protruding disc and degenerative disc disease in my lower back. I've been in pain management programs since 2011. At one point, my oxy use got to the point where I was using 100+mg daily. Once I realized that I couldn't continue on the path that I was on, I voluntarily got myself in to a suboxone/subutex program in Jacksonville, Fl. Right away, I realized that I couldn't take the suboxone because of the headaches that it gave me, but the subutex worked amazing for withdrawls and does help to make the pain more manageable.
