Does Methadone Help With Depression?

I have read about Methadone being used as an anti depressant, does anyone know anything about this? When I was on low doses I was at my best ever in life. Not high, but just normal for the first time ever. Even though I am not using (4 years) I sometimes wish I could just be on 10 mg a day.

methadone being a pain med is a depressant however euphoria is a side effect. works for me. there are only 2 ways to get methadone....to treat severe pain or to treat addiction. if you are thinking about a meth program you will have to present yourself as an addict and drop dirty urines. it's not so hard now a days as you don't have to have track marks you can join by just being addicted to pills.

I have been on methadone for almost 2months, I was seriously addicted to pain pills for over 5 years. I am doing extremely well on this program. I am thankful for finding it and not walking out on the first day. It has worked wonders for me. I am now on the maint. program and plan on staying on it for as long as I need to. Way better than popping those damn pills, so much safer and so much more affordable!!

Your crazy if you go on done and don't need to I did that and 30 years later I can't get off it , it's a depressant and it cost me 90$ a week I'm on a disabilty pension so have not a lot of money left .i felt wonderful at the start but that soon wore off , no if you are thinking of going on methadone and your not in pain or using you are not thinking very well I would go and talk to a councillor really you your not doing to well
In life if the main thing on your agenda is going on liquid hand cuffs it's worse than having a habit on herion
