I am a suboxone patient, took a drug test (probably the cheap dip stick kind) and it came back positive for methadone. I haven't taken methadone for about 4 months and every drug test since then has been clean. The only things ive taken were benadryl and my subs. What can cause a false positive for methadone, and if so when they sent the remainder of my urine to the lab, it should find that i haven't taken any right? plz help. ## It might have been caused by the Buprenorphine in the Suboxone itself. On the cheaper tests, most semi-synthetic and synthetic opiates have been known to cause false positives for others. I was in a methadone treatment center. I was being lowered off methadone and I thought I was doing good, but I was sick and going through withdraws and I got methadone off the street and now I am sick if I do not have it. I've been going to the hell clinic (methadone) for a lil over 5 yrs. I had 6 take homes for most of that time. I told them i wanted to go down 2 mgs a day. They said i wanted to go down too fast & I'd be "unstable" so they took away ALL my take homes. I told them to start taking me down 5 a day then instead of 2 mgs. I only have 2 more days to go. I don't want to start old pill habits, but will taking Lortabs or small amounts of Morphine help with the withdrawals? I'm taking xanax (prescribed) & lots of vitamins & vit c. & of course Immodium. I have been feeling very strange since taking methadone from Ascend mfg. They changed recently. Before I was fine. I am disabled and have never taken any illicit drugs. i've been prescribed methadone from a Doctor in Dallas for many years. I also have mobility issues as well, as I have had spinal cord surgery to alleviate chronic pain. My Dr is retiring after 40 years and Its mandatory that I find a new doctor. I have medical records and would be blessed to find someone who could help me. Going to a methadone clinic is not an option because they are treatment centers and will.not accept patients unless you lie and say you misuse your medication. I have been on 65 for 14 yrs. After jail and prescription chasing, it finally allowed me to maintain my job, and lead a normal life! Yes, it would be nice not to be dependent on anything, and sometimes it does get me down. But the trade off seems more than fair! Does anyone have any sort of story? I would love to hear it. Most of what I look up comes up either unsafe with methadone or will flush my dose out which would be devastating for me with my chronic pain issues, and that I take a once-a-day liquid dose, so redosing is not an option. I do not want to be thrown into withdrawals from flushing it out. I was looking at glucomannan but can’t seem to find anything on that one at all. Please! Not a med seeker. I just need to manage my pain with strong pain killers and need to get something for energy as I have severe depression and chronic pain. My pain management doctor will no longer practice PM and the doctor he referred his patients to will not take me because he said he was an interventional doc and there isn’t anything he can do for me. I have been taking 20 mg methadone 2x a day and 30 mg oxycodone 3x a day for breakthrough. He obviously didn’t want to take me as a patient due to my meds. I'm having severe symptoms daily sometimes several times a day for low blood sugar. What can cause this? I've been going to pain management for over six years now. The main doctor over all of his pain management centers got into trouble and decided to take everyone off of methadone and fentanyl. Well I was on 60mg a day for six years. They have been doing a medication rotation on me since then. This is the first month they took the last 30mg of methadone away from me. I am on 40mg of oxycontin three times a day and 15 mg of oxycodone three times a day for breakthrough pain. I'm sure I will have a urine done next month. Should I be clean of methadone since it has had six years to build up in my system or will I test positive for a couple months?
