I've been taking metformin 500 mg tabs for 2yrs and this is the 1st time I've received a pill with 397 on one side and blank on other and it smells really bad. Never had any metformin smell! Is this really metformin? ## HI, Kimie! How are you? Yes, the round, white tablet with 397 on it contains 500mgs of Metformin. And to be honest, if you've never had one where you had to smell that awful odor before, you were very fortunate. That is completely normal and very disgusting. Learn more Metformin details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

For my Diabetes Melitus which was detected 4 years ago when I was 67 years old I have, under doctor's supervision, been through a whole range of oral diabetis medicines which have basically been Metformon 500 mg tablets with various additives. These have not been of much help. My present figures are 188 (fasting) and 253 ( 2 hours after eating). The latest medicines I am on are Jalra M 50 mg + Tribet 2, one of each twice daily at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. I would like to know how effective other diabetics have found this combination of drugs, and what side effects can be expected. ## Side effects of the combination of diabetic drugs as above ## Jalra-M contains the active ingredients Vidagliptin and Metformin, both of which are oral antidiabetic medications. I would like to know what this pill is please, small white pill with a G scored then Z and plain back. I have came across it in my home and it doesn't belong to any meds I recognise so worried where its came from. Help appreciated. ## Hi sonia, The closest match I can find is Gliclazide (80 mg); which is a white round pill with the imprint G Z on one side divided by a score line and C on the back. Gliclazide is an oral hypoglycemic (anti-diabetic drug) and is classified as a sulfonylurea. From what I can gather, this medication is manufactured in the UK and Canada, it is sometimes combined with the U.S. drug Metformin. Do you think this could be your pill?

Small white pill with G Z separated by the score down the middle on one side and plain scored on the back. I found this pill on my kitchen floor and I want to know if its one of my kids friends or completely innocent. I'm a nurse but don't recognise it. Help appreciated. ## I believe its innocent. I'm in Korea right now and have bronchitis and i was just looking for the same info as the doctor has given me this same G Z white round tablet. Since i dont speak korean i have been searching for info. So far, no luck. But i take it that the pill you found is innocent. If it was anything recreational they probably would have been a bit more careful with it lol. ## The research I've done leads me to believe that this pill may be from Canada, but I am not totally certain of that...

Metformin 500 mg.--not the osmotic form..used in type 2 diabetes..is there a pharmacy in Milwaukee, Wi. or mail order co. that carries the Metformin--500 mg. from Watson Lab? ## I'm sorry, but there's no central database of which pharmacy anywhere, whether brick&mortar or mail order, carries any given medication by any certain manufacturer. Such information would be dynamic and very hard to keep updated, anyway. Have you tried asking your pharmacy if they can order it in for you? Do you have a problem taking the other ones?

I am non diabetic but obese 48-year-old female. My doctor gave me Glucomet 500 mg half tablet morning and half tablet in the night for weight reduction. Is it safe for a non diabetic to take diabetic medicine? ## HI, Malathi! Yes, it's safe as long as your doctor is going to be supervising you regularly. When it's used in such cases, it's due to your doctor suspecting that you may be insulin resistant, thus an antidiabetic medication may help improve your situation and enable you to lose weight. You may experience some side effects from it, such as nausea, headache and flatulence. Is there anything else I can help with?

i have been diognised with diabetes for the last three months .i have experienced a loe libido and a problem wth ma eye sight .dies glycomet have these side effects coz i use it daily as prescribed by the doctor ## Hi, Kceee! Sorry about the issues you're having. Actually, there is a much higher chance that these symptoms have been caused by the diabetes itself and not the medication. Especially if your blood sugar was out of control for awhile and only recently diagnosed with corrective measures taken. It could also be due to you body adjusting to the changes in your blood sugar levels that are being caused by the medication. But the best thing you can do is consult your doctor, so they can discover what's causing the problems. Learn more Glycomet details here. Are you also wat...

if a diabetic person taking glycomet gp2 forte before dinner observe metformin part come out with stool in the morning what conclusion may be drwan about absorption of the medicine in the body.pl guide. ## The Metformin is actually slowly released into your body, to give better blood sugar control for a longer period of time. Basically what you saw in your stool was just the outer shell of the pill, but the medication was still released into your body, just as it should be. The entire tablet isn't meant to be dissolved and broken down, so seeing it in your stool is perfectly normal. Is there anything else I can help with?
