Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 42) (Top voted first)
UpdatedDoes anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you
HI Connie , just wonted to find out if the Lyrica did any thing to your memory , even after you stopped takeing it ?
Is there any one out there that has severe anxiety and memory problems that they did not have before takeing Lyrica and continue to have the problems years after ceasing Lyrica ?
The makers of Lyrica have to be sued for the terrible damage there poison has caused , this is a great injustice that is going on at the moment .
Me.... last time I think I was on lyrica was late 2006 or early 2007. My coordination has been affected to some degree and I have been off it @ least 5 years now.
I have been off of it for 2 years and I am in therapy because I panic when I go out into crowds now panic when I drive because I get confused as to where I am and I have lived here all of my life. And it hurts to think I never forgot anything before Lyrica. Good luck !
I wish we could sue the makers of lyrica. Now I am scared because my husband has just been put on plavix. There have been ads on tv by lawyers going after plavix because of side effects. I am scared. I am caught between a rock and a hard place. :'(
Yes, I had anxiety problems after taking Lyrica that I did not have before Lyrica, and lots of other things as well. I had a full blown Panic attqack on night at my brothers house and actually went and got him up because I thought I was having a heart attack or something. Took about 30 minutes for it to pass. I couldn't breath, chest hurt, legs weak, thought processes stopped.....it was terrible. I still have some problems with anxiety and I have been off Lyrica for years. I have posted here before, but it seems to be only a sounding board for those of us who have suffered after taking Lyrica. I have had practically every sypmtom listed in these discussions. Memory, eyesight, anxiety, panic, limbs numb or tingling, limbs hurting....and on and on and on. I am sorry for anyone who begins to take this drug without knowing what might happen to them. I also told my doctor and he was just positive that these problems were not caused by Lyrica. It is as if those of us who took this drug do not know our own bodies or what caused these things to happen.
I actually had that same thing happen while I was still on Lyrica, they called an ambulance because had no idea what was happening and when I got to hospital they treated me like a guinea pig and didn't have a clue so I left.
Hi Dianne , thanks for your reply , and we to have been told by Doctors that its not the lyrica , trouble is scientific knowledge is usually 20 years behind the fact and we are unfortunatly the first to know . How is your memory now ? this has been a terrible problem for my son as he no longer can perform academicaly like he used to , Lyrica has destroyed his memory and ability to focus and create .
My memory is not good. I can function and live my life fairly well, however, I have lost memories from my past and even when my sister reminds me of them vividly, I cannot recall them. I cannot retain what I learn either. I have to re-learn whenever I need something again. I once worked for a fortune 500 contractor and I remembered the tele numbers of all our subcontractors and the names of all our workers. I was an administrative assistant to a Vice President and 5 project managers. I can barely manage my own personal business. I hate to tell you this but I have been remarkable impaired by using Lyrica. I feel like a test animal....used and forgotten. My eyesight has suffered, I have muscle spasms, and many more problems I don't care to talk about. My children think I have lost my mind....and maybe I have in a way. Good Luck. I hope your loved recovers better than I have. I don't believe we victims of this drug will every see anything out of this, but I pray someone will stop the insanity of this drug being used like it is.
Thanks for your reply Dianne , could i ask you how long you took Lyrica for and at what dose , this will help me compare with my son , Thank you , also if we all make enough noise about Lyrica , maybe we will get somewhere , but we need brain function tests to prove damage has been caused and they are not cheap .
I am sorry, I don't remember the dose I was taking when I stopped Lyrica. I started at a low dose and over a period of 2 years gradually increasedl I was off Lyrica for a 6 month period because my insurance changed and I could not afford to buy it myself, but I changed to one of the Medicare Advantage programs which paid for it and went back on it for another year. I remember taking one pill in the morning and one at night, but I don't remember the dosage. I would have to go back and research to get more information.
Thanks for your reply Dianne , just one more question , as time passes have you had any gradual improvement in your condition ? my son had some improvement over the first week or two but nothing else over the past 2.4 years after stopping Lyrica , was really hopeing his brain would heal it self by now but have become increasingly desparate as his life is going no where and there seems to be no effective treatment .
Nick-I learned the hard way that you need to keep looking for a Dr that will listen to you and your son. If they don't believe you, dismiss you, or don't seem to understand the type of drug lyrica is then move on until you do find one that takes this seriously. If you leave the Drs office frustrated and angry then it doesn't matter if they are supposed to be the best neurological Drs in the country. Also, I had an MRI of my brain while on Lyrica along with many other tests but my MRI showed I had a dry brain
I am somewhat better, however I am not as sharp as I was. I was never willing to take a "back seat" always pushing forward with my life, improving myself and my life situation. Now I am happy to just survive and not make too many mistakes. I am not at all ambitious anymore, I am 65 years old now, but I sometimes have to fight to feel like my life isn't over. My ability to have a conversation, and survive life is still there. My desire to improve my lot, learn and retain new things, or make long term decisions is non-existant. I simply live from day to day and try to enjoy what I can of my life. I am not saying Lyrica did it all, but I am no longer the woman I was and blame the memory and lack of concern for my future on Lyrica.
Thanks Renee , dont really understand what a dry brain is , can only imagine ,will have to look it up but did you have a follow up MRI after you stopped Lyrica to see if things had returned to normal ? this is very interesting and may be the first piece of concreat evedence of what Lyrica actualy does to the human brain .Were you on Lyrica for very long ? and at what dose ? Thanks Renee ...
Thank you Dianne for your prompt replys , you have been very helpfull with your information , i wish you all the best with your health and happyness .
Bless your heart Vicky I wish there was a huge lawsuit for the complications of taking Lyrica. We need to make as much noise as possible to express our implications!! This is a real issue. The Government sued Lyrica for billion(s) we should get that and more to all the victims of Lyrica!!
I called FDA about lyrica #888-463-332. web site fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch to get an on line form. I hope this gets posted for all our sakes.
I posted a message about lyrica. I do not know if they will post it. I gave the FDA phone number and web address. It has to be reviewed first. I hope they do post it.
