Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 41) (Top voted first)

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Cindy you have an excelent point and it goes to show how money is more inportant than patients health and the depth of corruption in the health system .Lyrica is nuro toxic , heath damageing and needs to be taken of the market .

Don't count on it. Pfeizer, who makes the rug has paid billions of dollars to lawyers not to sue. Also the FDA have not done anything, they are turning a blind eye......

Renee.that doctor that thought you were crazy and yelled at you.first thing you should of told him,if he told every patient that walked into his office same thing he told you, he would be out of a job.most doctors dont care about us pain patients,I got to point now that if I see doctor not fulfilling his duties, I will report him no doubt about that.if everyone reports a doctor that is not fulfilling their commitment to their patients, then report them maybe doctors will think next time they say a patient is crazy.if you do nothing, he will keep doing it.

Hi Karen , my son was up to 4 times the dose you were on and for more than twice the time and still has severe memory problems and debilitating anxiety more than 2 years after takeing his last dose of Lyrica , he used to be a brillient student with a photographic memory , all of which have been taken away from him by this truly evil drug ., am very worried this is permanent irreversable damage ,also Terence Lim the pain consultant should never have put him on it at the age of 16 years because the FDA never aprouved it for under 18 year olds ., Lim was just experimenting with him .

The FDA knew about all the side effects of lyrica including the ones we have reported to each other. Besidrs the company that makes lyrica maybe the FDA should be included, that is if we ever find a lawyer that will take the case. Until then we are on. our own, just guinea pigs

wow, i am so glad i found this forum. i was given lyrica for a run in with shingles. i only took the drug for a few days, but i will tell you that it has given me so much more trouble for much longer. i had shingles about 8 months ago and would not have thought any more about the medicine i took for it if i hadnt had since then severe swelling in my feet and legs, severe itching in my skin on my legs and stomach. i was talking to my husband that i swear that i felt i was having an allergic reaction to something but i didnt know what. i slowly pieced together when all of this started and all i can come up with is it started when i had shingles and took lyrica. the swelling, the anxiety, the constant tiredness i always attributed to work and my hypothyroidism. so my husband was making me rest more at home but nothing was working. i am glad i am not alone in this problem, i thought i was going crazy. i have a low budget doctor, he doesnt care what i have told him (a benefit of having no health insurance). i only took this medicine for a few days, but it has taken more out of me than just suffering with the shingle pain. by the way, this same doctor had misdiagnosised my shingles, he said it was a rash and kept asking me if i had ever been diagnosed with any vd. i told him no i had never suffered from any vd but he just had it stuck in his head that i was lying. so for 4 days i suffered with shingles and put a cream on them until the chicken pox dots came out then i went back in and told him i had already had chicken pox, that this was shingles.. thats when he gave me a pain med and the lyrica sample bottles. i told him keep the pain med prescription, i have been taking tylenol this long i can suffer the rest of the way through shingles. yes lyrica did help with the shingles pain, but it was not worth the price i am still paying.

Frank - the neuro-psych saw me when I was a complete mess and could not think straight so I couldn't defend myself I had been through hell when I crushed my thoracic spine and had spinal damage but he should have done his job and looked at the list of 15 drugs I was on but no he told me that people like me want the attention so they make things up. He said I wanted people to feel sorry for me. I spent 6 mos in bed I had to have spinal surgery with posterior and anterior cage and bone graph because 3 vertebraes were gone and spinal cord damage but I fought to walk again I do water therapy everyday rain or shine. And he thought I was making up swollen hands and feet and double vision and speech problems and the worst of it was the sleep paralysis which I know now is because the lyrica changes the way your brain functions. The sleep paralysis was the worst of it because everytime I had to lie down to rest because of my back I couldn't move. I ended up getting a dog just so I could be home alone. I live in constant horrible pain and thankfully can walk but limitedly and thanks to lyrica twitch lose feeling in my hands and I no longer have the memory I had. I guess I should file a complaint now that my mind is alot clearer than it was. I have had alot a bad experiences with drs and have thought of starting a list of all of them and warning patients I am in the Philadelphia area and we are suppose to have some of the best doctors but there are just as many bad ones as good ones. Scary ! But my spinal surgeon was wonderful he is the reason I am walking again

Has anyone experienced menstrual cycle changes with this drug? Ex. heavy bleeding or prolonged periods?

Karen, I do remember having one period that was about 10 days and really heavy, which was unusual for me. I did not relate that to the Lyrica at the time but I was on it when that happened. Entirely possible. But that is how this drug is.

Karen- Yes 77 days extremely heavy and huge clots for all 77 days.

I do not think we will get any lawyer to help us. If you watch the ads on tv, you will see so many people have to die who are on lyrica like with the drug zomax. A lot of people died from allergic reactions to zomax, a pain pill. So far no one has died or if they did, not enough did. I have just about given up on a class action suit against lyrica.

There are all kinds of ads about drug side effects, but no one, not one lawyer wants to deal with lyrica. I guess the side effects ate not important. Maybe there are not enough of us for any lawyer to handle a class action suit. Maybe we have not found the right lawyer who is willing to take this case and sue lyrica. I have called a few but they are nott interested. I am starting to think these complaints against lyrica is just that, complaints. All we can do is talk to each other and tell our stories. At least we will we are not alone.

We are on our own. We will continue to feel lyrica's side effects. No one will care except our small group. We can't even give out our emails or phone numbers because this site is proected, supposedly to protect our privacy. I am on facebook, if you find the right person. I have not mentioned lyrica in my profile profile. Maybe I should have. Good luck to all. :(

Yes over the times since I started and stopped taking Lyrica my period has never been regular up until this time I had been text book 28 day cycle!

I'm glad to hear others have experienced menstrual changes and that I'm not going crazy thinking this is related to Lyrica. I experienced heavy bleeding with lots of clots. The bleeding would come and go throughout the month. I was almost anemic by the time I sought treatment. After 8 months of experiencing all symptoms including bleeding I had my FSH and LH checked to see if this was menopause but all was within normal range. I waited 6 months longer and had FSH / LH checked again. My FSH was out of range and so they label you with menopause. I was 44. So you're a female experiencing depression, anxiety, menstrual changes, most MD's will say this is menopause. They discount any other symptoms because they find it hard to believe that a drug you are not currently taking could cause this. If only we could prove all these symptoms/side effects we are experiencing are related to Lyrica. In a court of law they will argue that most of these symptoms/side effects could be caused by other disease processes especially if one is not currently on the drug while still experiencing these symptoms/side effects. I truly believe that Lyrica alters your levels of neurotransmitters and hormones. I just don't know what can be done about it.

I had to get IV infusions of iron for months after clotting heavily for the 77days my iron count was non-existent. The pain Dr I switched to when I was ready to give up took me off of Lyrica and he tells every student (teaching hospital ) and Dr that Lyrica caused all of the side effects I had after spinal cord injury. He is a very compassionate Dr and put up with me just sobbing everytime I saw him because I was losing my mind. But the point is he believed me when no one else would. I will try to talk to him when I see him in 10days and see if he has any suggestions on how to proceed.

No one will take the case because they have been paid off by pfeizer and no one has died. A law suit is a lost cause. :(

No one may have died from Lyrica ,thats been reported , thats not to say a death from Lyrica has been recognised and reported as such if the medical establishment wont recognise the harm Lyrica is inficting on people both short and long term , what is really fustrating is the fact doctors palm of complainers of side effects as nut cases .
