No registration is required and your identity remains anonymous. My gyno prescribed me Lo Loestrin Fe for my bad cramps and somewhat irregular periods. I reacted badly to my old birth control (made me a suicidal maniac and also made me puke every day), so he decided to have me give this a try. Well I decided to stop about 3/4 through the first pack, because I developed a very bad URI, which I suspected came from the pill after looking it up. I also was bleeding every day. They day after I stopped taking the pill, I got my period. At least I think it was. I bled for about 7 to 8 days. I ended my period on February 23rd. Here it is, April 8th, and I STILL haven't gotten my period. I normally get them every 4 weeks or so. I took 3 pregnancy tests, and all came back negative. Would it be possible to skip a period even after not even completing a full...
I just started taking birth control for the first time, I want to change the time I take the pill at. How do I do this without risking anything? Right now I take it at 12 pm and I have been consecutive for 8 days (just finished week 1 of my first pack), I want to change the time to say.... 9 am.. how do I go about this? ## So, instead of at lunch, you want to take it a few hours earlier? That's close enough that you can do that and it won't make a difference, just take it earlier one day. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Feel free to double check with your doctor, but there really should be no problem, at all. Are there any other questions? ## Just one more question, yes, my doctor told me that I Should be protected after one week of taking lo lestrin fe. My question ...
I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 6 months.Recently, when I refilled my prescription, they gave me Loestrin 24 Fe instead. I had to go out of state and couldn't get to a pharmacy, so I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for a week now. I finally got a pack of the correct pills, but I'm worried about the consequences of switching types mid-pack. I don't want to make it less effective. ## Unless your doctor or pharmacist has specified some reason why it cannot be done, most birth control tablets can just be smoothly switched from one to the other, without any decrease in effectiveness. However, any hormonal fluctuations are a different story and could result in spotting, cramping, irritability and etc. for a few days. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Hi my dr gave me meds to start my period because I ha surgery to have one of my Fallopian tubes removed and cysts removed and hadn't had a period since. Once I started bleeding I started taking ortho tri cyclen lo and that started 2 an a half weeks of heavy bleeding. So he switched me to lo estrin I've been on it for two weeks and I'm bleeding through 2 pads during the day and one at night I stopped the pill on my own because I got scared of all the bleeding. The problem is the bleeding hasn't stopped its actually getting worse. It's the weekend so I can't go to my dr till tomorrow at the earliest just wondering if anyone thinks I should do a catch up and go ahead and take the two pills I didn't take. I just want the bleeding to stop I want to have a regular ...
I've been on Lo Loestrine FE for about a two years. I originally got on the medicine primarily because I had extremely painful periods, and I've noticed that if I take the white and brown pills at the end of the month, I don't experience any bleeding, but I still get horrible cramps, so I've taken to skipping the white and brown pills altogether. Is this okay? I'm not experiencing any side effects, I'm just concerned that it's not healthy. Also, I was wondering about the risk of pregnancy while on this pill. I have unprotected sex fairly regularly--I haven't gotten pregnant yet, but how likely is it? ## Hi I am also on the same BC as you and my doctor told me that I DO NOT have to take the brown and white pills that if I just continue onto the next pack of...
I started my period thursday of last week and it was suppose to stop yesterday but it is still bleeding pretty badly and today is monday. When will this stop? ## Hi Audrey, Are you currently taking any medications, (such as birth control) that might be attributing to the severity of your period? From what I've heard, it is rather common for periods to last as long as a couple weeks. This may be due to a number of reasons (diet, hormones, stress, anxiety, etc), but I would recommend going in to see a gynecologist at your convenience, if it doesn't subside within the next week. I hope this info helps! ## Yes, I am taking Lo Loestrin Fe. Your info was very helpful and informing.. Greatly appreciated !
This is my first time taking birth control. My doctor gave this kind to me just to start with then told me to switch to sprintec the next month. I started the pack the first sunday after getting my period as my doctor instructed, and I just finished week 3. I do not know if i should take these last seven pills or just switch to sprintec tomorrow? I am also worried about taking the last two brown pills next weekend because my boyfriend is coming down to georgia from new jersey for valentines day weekend and i realllllllllllllly don't want to get my period! Also these past three weeks I have been bleeding quite a bit even after finishing my period and it has been brown and quite heavy. is this normal? ## Hi Lexi, Are the last 7 pills your placebo/sugar pills (the ones you take the wee...
Hi, I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 9 months, and most always skip my placebos in order to avoid my period, continuing on to the next pack appropriately. I didn't do that this past month, allowing myself to get my period this week. I resumed my pills yesterday. I had unprotected sex last night, and took my second pill of the pack today. Should I be concerned because I was off the pill (during placebo pill week) for the first time in a while? I worry that because my body is used to having these hormones every day, and then this week I stopped them for my period week, that I could be at risk. Want to know if I should take the morning after pill. Thank you so much for insight! ## You are still protected, even if you take the placebo tablets and have your menstrual cycle, it is really...
I have been taking Lo Lo for 6 or 7 months. And I often get bleeding in the middle of the month in addition to when I am suppose to get my period at the white and brown pills. or I will bleed during the month and then skip when I am supposed to have it (again at the white and brown pills). this is still happening after 6 or 7 months of using it. I think it may have to do with the fact that I live an international back and forth life style with an 8 hour time difference. every time i fly I change when I take the pill so theoretically my body won't know the difference. for example: in the states I take my pill at 10am in england I take it at 6pm. so i am accounting for the 8 hour difference. by doing this i was hoping to not throw my body off as much. but i think it still is. Is my tr...
I started the bill 2 weeks ago the last day of my cycle. In the first week I forgot to take a pill and didn't take it the next day, I just resumed with the next pill. I also missed a pill in week two. I just stopped taking the pill the begining of week 3. Will i get pregnant? Will my period come? Is the pill even in my system? Thanks ## If you've missed pills and stopped taking them, then no, it is not in your system and you are not protected against pregnancy. For them to prevent pregnancy, you have to take one every day, exactly as directed. Learn more oral contraceptive information here. Are there any other questions? ## ,hi im icar i just want t0 kn0w,what will happen i start taking daphne on Nov 23, i just st0p taking daphne pills on january 10,and i still dnt have my menst...
I have been on Mo Loestrin for almost 2 months so I know my body is still getting used to it. I have been on my period/spotting for 8 days now this past month. The first month was about the same maybe a bit longer and I still got my period when your supposed to at the end of the pill pack... Is 8 days normal for some girls and i just need to wait it out another month or 2? ## From what I've been told (by my gf), it is actually quite common to experience periods that last as long as even a week & a half to two weeks. Also, birth control in and of itself can take up to a few months for your body to become more accustomed/used to having it. During this time frame I'd imagine that your body would be more susceptible to certain side effects. So I would definitely recommend waitin...
I started my period November 25, 2012 and it lasted till November 27, 2012. I started birth control on Novemeber 25, 2012.. I haven't gotten my period since, I should've started December 23, 2012, but it never came. I've been told this is normal, but now it's January 22, 2013 and still no period.. Should I be concerned? I'm gettin worried, help! ## Hi Ellie, Birth control can definitely be complicated, I wouldn't be worried though. From what I've researched, it isn't harmful for your body to not go through the menstrual cycle once in a blue moon, or for it to be delayed. However, if this were to happen on a regular basis it's definitely something you would want to discuss with your Gynecologist. I would give your body another week to adjust and sort i...
does anyone have or know of a coupon for this brand of birth control? my insurance sucks and im paying like $60 per pack. ## Have you tried your local planned parenthood? Even if you don't qualify for free assistance, because you work and/or have insurance, they usually can help you get things for more reasonable prices. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Alternatively, have you talked to your doctor about using a different one that may be cheaper?
i am taking my second pack of lo estrin fe with no problems in the first month, in the second week of the second month i missed two pills and then started bleeding heavily and cramping like a period but its the middle of my pack. whats going on? could i be pregnant? i was sexually active before/during/after the pill was missed. I'm now on day 4 of bleeding and i have continued to take the pill as normal.
UpdatedAlright, I have been on this birth control for 3 months now (currently on Wednesday in the last week of my 3rd pack). For the first pack my period came on the last week, as it should according to the pill's instructions. But for my second pack, I got my period the second week of the pack for that whole week! What's even more mind-boggling is that on the last week of that second pack, I got my period again, which is how it should be. Now, this is my third month, thus I am on my third pack. Just like how my second month had been, I got my period for a whole week in the second week of the pack! It is now the last week of my third pack, day Wednesday, but now I haven't even gotten my period! Something is not right, and I'm starting to get aggravated with this birth control. ...
I started Lo Loestrin Fe (28 pack, 26 days of active therapy) on Friday, January 4, 2013 the first day of my period. On the third day of my period it popped off that night, but after I took the pill on the fourth day it came back on, and it have been popping back on every since then after I take the pill. Is the pill causing my period to come back on after it go off? ## This is a hormonal based contraceptive medication, so it is normal for you to experience irregularities in your menstrual cycle, while your body adjusts to the new hormone levels. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Such irregularities may continue for the first 3 months you are taking it and they are warned about in the medication information leaflet. If it continues past 3 months, then this one may not be the r...
I stopped taking Lo loestrine FE 3 weeks ago. I am still experiencing all the symptoms of my cycle as if I were still on the pill. I took Lo loestrine FE for 20 months and only had a period the first 2 months. My OB said this was normal. Ok Fine. I had period symptoms: cramping, breast tenderness, back aches etc..Well, 3 weeks without this pill and I feel likeII'm still on it. When will these symptoms go away? ## This is a hormonal contraceptive and you were taking it for almost 2 years, so what you're experiencing is normal. Your body got used to your adding those hormones and now, it has to readjust to no longer having them and reregulate your hormones on its own. That's going to take some time. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. It may take about 4 to 6 weeks for...
I'm on lo lo estrin fe for couple of years now. My periods completely stopped after a few months. Even though I know it's quite common among women taking that particular pill, I can't find any info on how healthy is it? Not to have any period for such an extended period of time. It's been over a year for me. I don't have any problems with the pill and frankly it's pretty convincing not to have any periods. But the health on the long run what concerns me.I'm 25 now And I'm not planning to have any kids for the next 5-10 years. Will pill affect my ability to get pregnant when the right time comes? ## No, you shouldn't have anything to worry about according to the research and information that's available. As a matter of fact, many women use oral con...
I was taking Lo Loestin and was on my second month, I got my period a few days early so my sister suggested I take the rest of my blue and just continue to a new pack without taking the 2 white or brown pills. Now its 8 days in to my new pack (3rd month) and im spotting and have cramping....what does this mean? Is this bad? Im really worried. ## Irregularities in your menstrual cycle can be normal for the first 3 months when you are new to taking an oral contraceptive. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. It seems your sister was trying to help you by suggesting that, in hopes that by skipping the pills that normally give you your cycle, you'd not have 2 in a row. But these are hormonal based contraceptives and it can take a few months for your body to get used to them. By al...
I had been on Lo Loestrin for a good amount of time maybe a year. While on the pill my period was very exact, if I ever stopped taking it I would get a heavy period right away. Note that I became very irresponsible with the pill as time passed, I would often forget and double up until caught up . I went about 2 months with no period while on the pill, and it's been about 1 month still no period after I stopped taking the pill. My partner and I rely on this as protection so no other protection has ever been used. Lately I've been experiencing symptoms such as very tender nipples, horrible cramps, weight gain, and fatigue, but still no period. I've taken 2 HPT one came back negative and the other sort of showed an invalid result as negative. I have no medical insurance therefo...
