My gyno prescribed me Lo Loestrin Fe for my bad cramps and somewhat irregular periods. I reacted badly to my old birth control (made me a suicidal maniac and also made me puke every day), so he decided to have me give this a try. Well I decided to stop about 3/4 through the first pack, because I developed a very bad URI, which I suspected came from the pill after looking it up. I also was bleeding every day. They day after I stopped taking the pill, I got my period. At least I think it was. I bled for about 7 to 8 days. I ended my period on February 23rd. Here it is, April 8th, and I STILL haven't gotten my period. I normally get them every 4 weeks or so. I took 3 pregnancy tests, and all came back negative. I just started taking birth control for the first time, I want to change the time I take the pill at. How do I do this without risking anything? Right now I take it at 12 pm and I have been consecutive for 8 days (just finished week 1 of my first pack), I want to change the time to say.... 9 am.. how do I go about this? ## So, instead of at lunch, you want to take it a few hours earlier? I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 6 months.Recently, when I refilled my prescription, they gave me Loestrin 24 Fe instead. I had to go out of state and couldn't get to a pharmacy, so I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for a week now. I finally got a pack of the correct pills, but I'm worried about the consequences of switching types mid-pack. I don't want to make it less effective. ## Unless your doctor or pharmacist has specified some reason why it cannot be done, most birth control tablets can just be smoothly switched from one to the other, without any decrease in effectiveness. Hi my dr gave me meds to start my period because I ha surgery to have one of my Fallopian tubes removed and cysts removed and hadn't had a period since. Once I started bleeding I started taking ortho tri cyclen lo and that started 2 an a half weeks of heavy bleeding. So he switched me to lo estrin I've been on it for two weeks and I'm bleeding through 2 pads during the day and one at night I stopped the pill on my own because I got scared of all the bleeding. The problem is the bleeding hasn't stopped its actually getting worse. It's the weekend so I can't go to my dr till tomorrow at the earliest just wondering if anyone thinks I should do a catch up and go ahead and take the two pills I didn't take. I've been on Lo Loestrine FE for about a two years. I originally got on the medicine primarily because I had extremely painful periods, and I've noticed that if I take the white and brown pills at the end of the month, I don't experience any bleeding, but I still get horrible cramps, so I've taken to skipping the white and brown pills altogether.Is this okay? I'm not experiencing any side effects, I'm just concerned that it's not healthy. Also, I was wondering about the risk of pregnancy while on this pill. I started my period thursday of last week and it was suppose to stop yesterday but it is still bleeding pretty badly and today is monday. When will this stop? ## Hi Audrey, Are you currently taking any medications, (such as birth control) that might be attributing to the severity of your period? From what I've heard, it is rather common for periods to last as long as a couple weeks. This may be due to a number of reasons (diet, hormones, stress, anxiety, etc), but I would recommend going in to see a gynecologist at your convenience, if it doesn't subside within the next week. This is my first time taking birth control. My doctor gave this kind to me just to start with then told me to switch to sprintec the next month. I started the pack the first sunday after getting my period as my doctor instructed, and I just finished week 3. I do not know if i should take these last seven pills or just switch to sprintec tomorrow? I am also worried about taking the last two brown pills next weekend because my boyfriend is coming down to georgia from new jersey for valentines day weekend and i realllllllllllllly don't want to get my period! Hi, I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 9 months, and most always skip my placebos in order to avoid my period, continuing on to the next pack appropriately. I didn't do that this past month, allowing myself to get my period this week. I resumed my pills yesterday. I had unprotected sex last night, and took my second pill of the pack today. Should I be concerned because I was off the pill (during placebo pill week) for the first time in a while? I worry that because my body is used to having these hormones every day, and then this week I stopped them for my period week, that I could be at risk. I have been taking Lo Lo for 6 or 7 months. And I often get bleeding in the middle of the month in addition to when I am suppose to get my period at the white and brown pills. or I will bleed during the month and then skip when I am supposed to have it (again at the white and brown pills). this is still happening after 6 or 7 months of using it. I think it may have to do with the fact that I live an international back and forth life style with an 8 hour time difference. every time i fly I change when I take the pill so theoretically my body won't know the difference. for example: in the states I take my pill at 10am in england I take it at 6pm. so i am accounting for the 8 hour difference. by doing this i was hoping to not throw my body off as much. but i think it still is. I started the bill 2 weeks ago the last day of my cycle. In the first week I forgot to take a pill and didn't take it the next day, I just resumed with the next pill. I also missed a pill in week two. I just stopped taking the pill the begining of week 3. Will i get pregnant? Will my period come? Is the pill even in my system? I have been on Mo Loestrin for almost 2 months so I know my body is still getting used to it. I have been on my period/spotting for 8 days now this past month. The first month was about the same maybe a bit longer and I still got my period when your supposed to at the end of the pill pack... Is 8 days normal for some girls and i just need to wait it out another month or 2? ## From what I've been told (by my gf), it is actually quite common to experience periods that last as long as even a week & a half to two weeks. I started my period November 25, 2012 and it lasted till November 27, 2012. I started birth control on Novemeber 25, 2012.. i am taking my second pack of lo estrin fe with no problems in the first month, in the second week of the second month i missed two pills and then started bleeding heavily and cramping like a period but its the middle of my pack. whats going on? could i be pregnant? i was sexually active before/during/after the pill was missed. I'm now on day 4 of bleeding and i have continued to take the pill as normal.

Alright, I have been on this birth control for 3 months now (currently on Wednesday in the last week of my 3rd pack). For the first pack my period came on the last week, as it should according to the pill's instructions. But for my second pack, I got my period the second week of the pack for that whole week! What's even more mind-boggling is that on the last week of that second pack, I got my period again, which is how it should be. Now, this is my third month, thus I am on my third pack. I had been on Lo Loestrin for a good amount of time maybe a year. While on the pill my period was very exact, if I ever stopped taking it I would get a heavy period right away. Note that I became very irresponsible with the pill as time passed, I would often forget and double up until caught up . I went about 2 months with no period while on the pill, and it's been about 1 month still no period after I stopped taking the pill. My partner and I rely on this as protection so no other protection has ever been used.
