Is It Okay To Skip The White/brown Pills?

I've been on Lo Loestrine FE for about a two years. I originally got on the medicine primarily because I had extremely painful periods, and I've noticed that if I take the white and brown pills at the end of the month, I don't experience any bleeding, but I still get horrible cramps, so I've taken to skipping the white and brown pills altogether. Is this okay? I'm not experiencing any side effects, I'm just concerned that it's not healthy. Also, I was wondering about the risk of pregnancy while on this pill. I have unprotected sex fairly regularly--I haven't gotten pregnant yet, but how likely is it?

Hi I am also on the same BC as you and my doctor told me that I DO NOT have to take the brown and white pills that if I just continue onto the next pack of blue it will stop my period. Before I was on this I was on Mirena and had constant bleeding, so they put me on this one. I think it is great. According to my doctor you don't actually get your period on birth control anyway its called break-through bleeding, so it is perfectly safe to stop it all together, which is great for me. Good Luck.
