I started the Lo Loestrin pack right after I finished my other birth control pack, and I haven't had a period since I've started this pill. I don't know if starting it right after I finished my other pack caused me to miss my periods. I've taken 4 pregnancy test and they were all negative, I don't know what's going on!! Help! ## Hello, Carmen! How are you? Some women just don't have periods while taking this one, if you're concerned you should consult your doctor, but such anomalies can be normal. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My doctor told me that I should have my period while on this pill.. Idk what's going on
Ive been on a low dose version of lo loestrin for a while now. My Gyn prescribed them to me after my laparoscopy back in December of 2012 to prevent endometriosis from coming back. I take it at 6pm every day but sometimes I miss my dose by 2 or 3 hours and like once or twice a month I'll forget to take it until the next day. I always get my period on the second row of blue pills and it'll last a week or sometimes a few days more. I never get my period during the white and brown pills like im suppose to. Infact when I get to the white and brown it usually ends my period. What worries me is this month I got my period twice once at the beginning of the month and now im on it again. Would skipping straight to the brown and white pills end it? Or should I talk to my Gyn about it firs...
I don't usually get a period taking this pill so I'm not sure if I could be pregnant or not... I'm don't always take my pills on time and I had intercourse 11 days ago and today (6 days before my period "should" come) I notices slight bleeding that is a light pinkish & dark brown. After doing research I read that implantation bleeding usually occurs 3-6 days before your period is supposed to come but also ready that the pill and cause breakthrough bleeding. Thoughts? ## Hello, Abyss! How are you? It's really just a guessing game, at this point, it could be either/or. The only thing you can really do is wait and see if you do get your period and if you don't, have a pregnancy test done. However, if you didn't totally skip any pills, then the chance...
Alright so I began using Lo Loestrin Fe in January. I normally get my period around the end of the month but of course our periods fall on different days every month so it gradually turns into the beginning of the next month. In February when I took it like normal my period came on Feb 27 and ended March 2. Then on March 12 I started bleeding again and it didn't dry off until the 19th. My question is when is was that another period? How could it be when I just had one a week earlier. I have a period tracking app and it tracked that I would have another period either March 26th or 27th but when I logged the weird bleeding I had on the 12th it said my period would come on April 7th. As you can imagine I'm concerned because I don't know now when my periods going to come. ## Hel...
I am 19 years old and have been on Lo Loestrin FE for 19 months. I stopped taking the pill at the end of January. I never missed a period while on the pill, but now I have not gotten a period since the very beginning of January, so i've missed 2 cycles. I am wanting to try have a baby soon with my husband; however, I know I need to have a few normal cycles first. Is there anything I can do to get my body back to regular? ## Hello, Bailey! How are you doing? It will most like just take a bit more time for your body to balance your hormones back out on its own. However, it usually only takes about 3 months, so if this continues, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?
This is my first time using birth control, so everything is still very new to me. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex for the first time eight days after I started taking the pill, and that was the first time he ever finished inside of me. Throughout the month I've been experiencing mild to severe cramping in my lower abdominal area and in the first couple weeks, nausea...the nausea has subsided slightly, but is still there every now and then. Since day one I've been taking the pills at 9pm or a little after, but never any later than 9:30pm; also, I've missed three pills and had to double up the following day...now it's almost time for my period, having minor cramping and bloating, which before this pill I never had either, but I'm having brown discharge mixed wit...
I just started lo loestrin fe and my first pack i got had 24 brown pills and 1 blue pills and 1 white pill. I just finish that pack and now im on the second pack and its different its almost all blue. Does anybody know whats going on. ## Hello, Krystal! Are you sure they are exactly the same? I know one of these was recently discontinued and replaced with a generic that has the same dosage of the same ingredients.
I have my first fitness bikini competiton in 2 weeks. My obgyn would like me to start on lo loestrin starting today because of severe severe cramps that need to be dealt with. However, I'm nervous that I could gain weight right before my competition after months and months of strict dieting and 2 a day workouts. The obgyn said that I would not start my period in 2 weeks (I'm scheduled to start the day of my completion) which would be great considering how severe my cramps are. Anyone experience little to no weight gain on lo loestrin? I've seen many people post that they have long term but just was wondering what to expect within first 2 weeks?? Thanks so much in advance :) ## I have eating disorders so I was worried about gaining weight too, but I never gained weight on it!...
I have been taking lo loestrin fe for over a year now. I stopped in December and started again this last march. I was never good at taking my pill on time. I haven't taken my pill at the same time at all in march. I was either a few hours late or taking two the next day. Me and my boyfriend had a lot of unprotected sex and he ejaculated inside of me. I was suppose to get my period yesterday but didn't know if taking the pill would change when I got my period. I did have very light bleeding but not enough to wear a tampon. Only when I went to the bathroom and wiped it seemed like there was brown discharge. Am I pregnant?
Updatedhello all ! so im on my second pill on my 4th month of lo loestrin fe. first month was awesome. my period came on time w no cramps & it was very lite. months 2 & 3 i had some lite breakthrough bleeding, but nothing serious. my period was one brown dot & i was confused & not sure if i should be worried. although i never missed a pill. now my period wa very dark brown & i had spotting 2 days after my period. idk if my body is still getting used to it or what ? i have migrains before my period, but only on the 3rd month. which is normal for me bc i get them before my period.. even when i wasnt on bc. although i do get nauseaous often which is also common for the pill. hopefully after this month everything will even out. ## Yes, it was probably because your body was stil...
Hi guys! I have been taking Lo loestrin Fe for four months now. I have had a normal period in these months. They usually come 2-3 days early and are light. But this month I did not get a period and I am now 6 days almost seven days late. I have however, had spotting for the last couple of days but only in the morning for an hour and at night for around 30 minutes. I asked my mom about it and she's scared I might be pregnant. I have missed a pill or two and don't take them the same hour every day. It varies. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else or should I be taking an at home pregnancy test? ## Hello Addy! How are you? Yes, if you've missed a couple of pills, then a pregnancy test would be a good idea. However, changes to your period, such as it just being spo...
Started taking Lo Estrin FE last month, a day after I finished my last period. The doctor said I should start right away with the first blue pill in the pack, and to put the little stickers on the top, because It was a Friday. On the last blue pill of the third row, I got my period. I have had it for about 6 days which is longer than normal for me, since this is my first month on birth control. Everything I've read has told me to either start with the white pills the first day you have your period, or start the blue pills the Sunday of your period. Even though I didn't start on either of those, will the birth control still be effective? ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? You are confusing the instructions for someone that would be starting them new, who hasn't taken them before,...
I have been using Lo Loestrin for a month and a week now. yesterday my boyfriend finished inside me. I'm not sure if I should get a plan b pill or not ? (they work up to 3 days after) I'm really worried because I do not want to be pregnant ! Will I be okay going without the plan b pill ? Does Lo Loestrin help fight the sperm ?? What should I do ? ## Hello Taylorbri! How are you? This is an oral contraceptive that helps prevent pregnancy. It prevents you from ovulating, so no egg is dropped to be fertilized by his sperm and it also changes the texture of your cervical mucous, to make it harder for the sperm to move through your reproductive system. They reach their full level of efficacy in the body after being on them for a full week, without missing any tablets, or if you start...
I started taking lo loestrin for the first time a few days before my period on jan 2 2014. I was still getting use to the Times i would take them so i took them at different times on some days I had intercourse on that same day not protected. I then had breakthrough bleeding within 6days after taking the pill, and stopped the pill immediatly on jan 8 2014 due to really painful cramps. The break through bleeding stopped on jan 13 2014. I was wondering how long would it take my cycle to start after only taking this birth control for a week? Is It possible I could get pregnant for stopping the pill after a short ammount of time or not being consistant with it time wise? Help. :( I'm now two weeks late. ## Hello, Janine! How are you? Yes, there's a chance you could be pregnant. In o...
Hi there! I missed my last brown iron pill for my pack and without reading directions which stated to skip the pill if missed, I took the pill this morning. I am needing to start my new pack tonight but am not sure if it is bad to take both iron and blue pill in the same day? Any info I could have would be great!! ## Hello, Ashley! How are you? No, those are just inactive tablets that contain iron, so there should be no problem, but you should likely double check with your doctor to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with?
I took amoxicillin for two weeks and took 3 500 mg pills a day. I never miss a birth control pill as well and try to tske it at the same time everyday or around it. A week after I was done with the antibiotics I got a really heavy bad period I haven't gotten one of those in months and it lasted 8 or 9 days. Then a week break and now been spotting or having a mini period for a week now. Is this all messed up from the antibiotics ? I haven't had intercourse in months and been checked recently from the Gyno ## Hello, Ric! How are you? Sorry about the problem you're having. And yes, it most likely is from the antibiotic, though only your doctor can tell you for sure. But many of them are known to lower the amount of estrogen that you absorb from hormonal contraceptives, such as ...
I have been on this birth control for six months. I stopped taking them a few weeks ago simply because i misplaced my new pack. Anyway, it has been about 3 weeks and no period. I had a drop or two on a tampon a week ago but that was it and i have had pretty painful cramps since stopping them as well. I have negative pregnancy tests and i havent had intercourse with my husband since a couple of days after stopping the pill. Obviously at this point if i were pregnant, a test would show positive by now. Before i start taking these pills again, does the lack of period mean i will have trouble conceiving when my husband and i decide to? Im concerned. This is the first birth control i have taken that didnt trigger a period after stopping. I got pregnant with my son two weeks after stopping se...
Hello all. I am finishing my fourth pack of my lo loestrin fe and for some reason, I have not been taking the brown pill each pack because I figured I didn't need to. I have only had spotting that lasted four days, but I have not had a full period for the time I have taken lo loestrin fe. Is this okay to do? Should I call my doctor? ## There are no active hormones in the brown pills, so they don't have to be taken. And many women have very light periods, or none at all, while taking this contraceptive, but you should double check things with your doctor just to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with?
So I started lo loestrin fe August 4, 2013. I got my period during the second week of blue pills and have ever since then. Is this normal? The periods have been short and incredible helpful for menstrual pain(mine was very bad, this is why I started the pill). However I'm starting to get nervous about it. Is it normal that my period comes the second week? I get no period, no spotting, no anything during my placebo week only the second week of active pills. Is the pill effective? My boyfriend and I are careful but often have unprotected sex. Should I be worried?
UpdatedI have never missed a pill, however I don't always take the pill at the same exact hour, sometimes 1-5 hour difference. My boy friend and I are very active. And I started spotting yesterday but it is way too early for my period, I just had my period about 2 weeks ago. Should I take a pregnancy test, and when should I take it to be accurate? ## If there has only been a few hour difference, then you should be fine and shouldn't have to worry about pregnancy risk. The is only a worry if you actually miss tablets and take them more than 24 hours late, or not at all. But, the time fluctuation could upset your hormone levels enough to cause the breakthrough bleeding. You should consult your doctor to be sure, but it's most likely that this is just normal and you should try to take...
