I take 40mg of Lisinopril daily in the mornings. What if I accidentally doubled that dose? ## Hello, Brennan! How are you? Taking a double dose will likely result in your experiencing more side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. It's not a dangerous amount, unless your heart rate and blood pressure are already low, then it may cause fainting, heart failure, respiratory failure or other dangerous issues. Learn More: MedlinePlus If you do accidentally double up, it would be best to inform your doctor, to be safe. Hope this helps! ## Hi. I sorta of done same thing, but didn't double it. By mistake I took a 5mg tab of Lisinopril prescribed for my husband. How will this affect me? Will it make me dizzy--will it be unsafe to drive? ## It may may you a bit dizzy, but if it was just one tablet in that low of a dosage, it shouldn't last very long and the effects should be minimal, as long as you aren't allergic to it. That's not enough for it to really have an effect on your blood pressure, or cardiac function, since it takes regular dosing for several weeks to have its full effect. Learn more Lisinopril details here. Are you feeling okay, now? If you do experience anything weird, you should just contact your doctor, but it's doubtful that you will. ## My daughter took dads 40mg of lisinopril accidentally thinking it was allergy meds. I've been taking lisinopril for about 3 weeks. And suddenly started with severe diarrhea. I can't eat anything. I took some anti diarrheal medicine and that's not helping. Food doesn't stand my stomach longer than an hour very uncomfortable. What should I do? ## Hello, Shannon! How are you? Diarrhea can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA, but it shouldn't be that severe. You should contact your doctor as this likely isn't the right medication for you and you'll likely need to try a different one. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. Is that the only new medication you've been taking?

Has anyone had a simular experience, and if so, have your symptoms cleared up since you stopped taking this...its been about 2 week since I stopped and I'm still experiencing some sporadic coughing. Throat is not like sore but I can tell something is going on. Doc said cause of cough was meds and stopped them but will it or how long will it take to straighten out? need help please! ## It really depends on how long you were taking it. I experienced this when I was taking Lisinopril, along with other problems, I had been taking it about 6 weeks and it took about 3 weeks, after I stopped, for the cough to finally go away completely. What other medication are you taking, now? If you have high blo...

Hi, my mom was placed on Lisinopril 10mg to lower her HBP. Unfortunately we noticed the dry cough. With the approval of the Doc., she was placed on Nifedipine 20mg to be taken two times daily. Sadly, its been two weeks since she stopped using Lisinopril but the cough is still there(it just subsided a little). She is also managing diabetes. Is it alright for her to use cough meds? ## Hi, Nikky! How are you? Sorry about your mothers cough. The Nifedipine usually doesn't cause it as often, but it can cause a cough, as well, in some people that take it. Has she consulted her doctor, again? Learn more Nifedipine details here. On a cough medication, I can't answer you, without knowing the specific ingredients in it, since some of them can elevate blood pressure and heart rate. She shou...

Has anyone had any experience of vomiting with Lisinopril? I've been prescribed them today, after two weeks of home monitoring of blood pressure. I've read a few horror stories, but few positive ones (largely, I think as people generally comment on negatives and not positives). Most of the side effects of this, or any medication, don't bother me, but I do have a severe phobia of vomiting. A few comments I've read elsewhere have indicated that coughing can be so bad it induces vomiting or triggers the gag reflex. What have your experiences of lisinopril been, particularly with regard to gastrointestinal issues, particularly nausea and vomiting? Thanks! ## Like most meds, when and how u take them can have a huge effect. One pill I used take with bacon. Some pills go down b...

1 year on Lisinopril: Coughing so bad I vomit. Weezing so loud I wake my self up. Rash so bad i bleed from itching. Leg cramps. Lips numb. Doctor wont listen. So I took my self off this medication. Rash is clearing up. Cough is better. Taking an aspirin a day and no salt, loosing weight to control BP till I find a new doc. Stay away from this Medication. Horrific year of horrific side effects!!!! ## Hello, Doll! How are you? I'm sorry about what you've experienced. Wow! That's horrible! I also had a very bad experience with Lisinopril and my doctor listed it among my allergies to make sure no one prescribes it for me, again. Those can be side effects of it, as reported by the FDA, along with nausea, headache, increased urination and hypotension. What type of doctor were you ...

I took blue one for the first time and my upper lip is swolen, is this a side effect? ## Hello, Sylvester! How are you? Has there been any change? It seems autocorrect messed with the pill markings you were trying to type….however, a swollen lip might be the sign of an allergic reaction to something in this tablet and you should consult your doctor immediately. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Lisinopril as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Can you please post back with the correct markings? I'd like to double check the information on this tablet.

I've been using the lisinopril 10 mg by Sandoz for quite some time now and in February 2016, I refilled my prescription and surprise to see a round sd hoped pill instead of the Oval that I used to get so I took it back to the pharmacy and the assured me that the pill was by Sandoz and that they changed the shape from oval to round. ## Hi Dio, Thanks for the heads up on the pill change. It's unfortunate that pharmacies have to make this a surprise for us at every refill. I was just looking up some information on these round lisinopril tablets by Sandoz and am not sure if I found the correct imprint, but I believe their 10mg is marked with "E 101" and carries the following National Drug Code: 00185-0101. Interesting that they would choose to change pill shapes. And I doubt...

Can I take this medications during the first trimester of my pregnancy? ## As of 2 days ago, I was diagnosed with hypertension and prescribed Lisinopril. I was concerned because I want to conceive in the very near future. My doctor advised that I should discontinue the medication BEFORE I get pregnant. To be on the safe side, I would talk to my doctor about alternatives during pregnancy. Good luck! ## NO!!!!!!! I was recently put on Lisinopril 10 mg, and seem to be doing fine with no side effects. I like to have drinks socially a couple of times a month and was wondering if this would still be ok, I have several friends who seem to do fine on this medication. ## Drinking while taking this medication could exacerbate the side effects, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual, as reported by the FDA. Additionally, moderate drinking can actually lower your blood pressure, so you could end up with readings lower than are good for you. However, if your doctor approves of you indulging occasionally, please just make sure you won't be driving or operating any dangerous machinery afterwards. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can u take these two meds together? ## Hello, Sam! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, so that should be fine, as long as they've both been prescribed for you. The FDA classifies Tramadol as an opioid analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Lisinopril may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is Lupin 20 coinsidered a form of proviron? Proviron is used for controlling estrogen levels during steroid cycles to my understanding. It has been rumored that Lupin 20 is a form of or substitute for proviron. It doesn't sound correct Does it? ## Hello, Joe! How are you? Are you referring to a pink tablet with the marking LUPIN on one side and 20 on the other? If so, no, Lupin lists it as containing 20mgs of Lisinopril, which is an ACE inhibitor that's used to high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

Need to know if lisinopril 10 mg by lupin mfg. is gluten free. I get cramps and stomach pains when first taking it. ## Hello, Nana! How are you? Lupin does list 2 types of corn starch among the inactive ingredients and, depending on the source, there's a chance that it could be contaminated with gluten, if it was processed in a factory that also does wheat products. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?
