I take Levothyroxine( Thyroid) medicine and on the bottle it says not to take a antacids or calcium within 4 hours of taking . I also take Pantoprazole SOD. This I should not take for 4 hours after the Levothyroxine? ## HI, Barbara! How are you? Other than the water you take it with, nothing else should be taken with the Levothyroxine and though it works differently than an antacid, I'd suggest waiting the 4 hours for the Pantoprazole as well, just to be sure. My dosage of levothyroxine has been increased to 75mg 3 days ago im now very itchy but no rash just my face ears neck and chest is this the reason why? ## Hi, Lynda! I've lost 15 pounds I. 4 weeks and i take 75m of levothyroxine for bout 5 months and my last blood test was fine. I'm worried about that weight I've lost. Should I be worried ? ## Hi, Craig! Actually, this medication usually causes the opposite problem and most people gain weight that they can't lose. Thus, it would really best if you consulted your doctor to make sure the weight loss isn't being caused by some other medical issue. Do you take any other medications, or just this one?

is there a difference between levothyroxine tablets & thyroxine tablets? ## Hi Rose, From what I could gather, Levothyroxine (also known as L-thyroxine or T4), is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone "thyroxine", which is normally secreted by the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. So to answer your question, they are the same exact medication. However if they were manufactured by different companies, it's likely that each tablet contains a different set of inactive ingredients (otherwise known as binders/fillers). To my understanding, the different variations of these inactive ingredients, have a significant impact on the overall efficacy of certain medications. I have been on 75mg of Levothyroxine for about 12 weeks now and I've started to feel really tired again is this normal? It may be different from the tablet you previously received from your pharmacy due to the fact that there is currently a shortage of this medication. The reasons haven't been given, but the complete supply from one manufacturer isn't currently available. Several people have asked very similar questions. Some pharmacies have been unable to get in any generic supply, at all and have had to provide the name brand. Are there any other questions or concerns?

it was supposed to be a white pill, levothyroxine 50 mcg. however I received green oblong pill with 9 and 3 on one side and 7 3 6 5 onb the other side. the size is also bigger than the white pill I took for years ## Wow! It's a very good thing that you noticed. A green, oblong tablet with 93 on one side and 7365 on the other is a 50mg Losartan tablet. This is an ARB that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Learn more Losartan details here. Can you take Kavinace and Levothyroxine without side affects ## HI, Marie! Hello All, I have been on levothyroxine 125 for about two weeks and I hav e swollen ankles and feet on a daily basis. After contacting my dr, she said I should take two water pills and a linsopril twice a day even though I have weak bladder from Multiple Sclerosis. Is it ok to take l- theanine with levothyroxine and amlodipine besylate ? ## L-Theanine is a natural supplement and therefore could not be checked for interactions in the drug databases. However, since it is an amino acid, in my opinion it would be fine. If you're really still concerned I would suggest visiting a Naturopath regarding this supplement. Interestingly enough, there are interactions found between Levothyroxine and food; same goes for Amlodipine. Is this normal? ## Dec. 2012 I had a thyroidectomy. levothyroxine went from 25, 75, 100 with TSH 77, 20, 5. My dose was just changed from 100 to 112 and I have insomnia. I sleep odd hours and only for one or two hours at a time. This seems to be the story with everyone. Would love a good night's sleep!

how does the pill look like? ## my precription was refilled . the first capsule was light in color, now the new refill is Lighjt orchid . Doe this matter? ## Just to clear this up, no the colors don't actually mean anything. That is something that is entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer. i just started taking levo today and after reading all the negative responses,im not sure if i want to take my 2nd dose is their anybody that is benefiting from this drug? ## I actually know someone who has to take Levothyroxine everyday for the rest of their lives, as a means of thyroid replacement hormones.
