I also take Pantoprazole SOD. This I should not take for 4 hours after the Levothyroxine? ## HI, Barbara! How are you? Other than the water you take it with, nothing else should be taken with the Levothyroxine and though it works differently than an antacid, I'd suggest waiting the 4 hours for the Pantoprazole as well, just to be sure. It really helps more if it is taken before a meal, anyway. Learn more Pantoprazole details here.
My dosage of levothyroxine has been increased to 75mg 3 days ago im now very itchy but no rash just my face ears neck and chest is this the reason why? ## Hi, Lynda! It's not listed as a side effect of the medication, but it can be an issue with a thyroid disorder, in some cases. It may just be due to your body adjusting to the higher dosage, but I'd suggest having your doctor check things out, just in case. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. Has it gotten any better, or worse?
I've lost 15 pounds I. 4 weeks and i take 75m of levothyroxine for bout 5 months and my last blood test was fine. I'm worried about that weight I've lost. Should I be worried ? ## Hi, Craig! Actually, this medication usually causes the opposite problem and most people gain weight that they can't lose. Thus, it would really best if you consulted your doctor to make sure the weight loss isn't being caused by some other medical issue. Do you take any other medications, or just this one?
is there a difference between levothyroxine tablets & thyroxine tablets? ## Hi Rose, From what I could gather, Levothyroxine (also known as L-thyroxine or T4), is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone "thyroxine", which is normally secreted by the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. So to answer your question, they are the same exact medication. However if they were manufactured by different companies, it's likely that each tablet contains a different set of inactive ingredients (otherwise known as binders/fillers). To my understanding, the different variations of these inactive ingredients, have a significant impact on the overall efficacy of certain medications. Do you happen to have any experience or feedback on either of these brands? You can learn more about th...
Wanting to know what a oblong white pill scored in middle with number 33 on one side is. ## Hi Lisa, The closest match I can find is Levothyroxine 50 mcg (0.05 mg). It is an oval/oblong white pill with the imprint GG 332 on the front (divided by a score) and the number 50 on the back. Maybe the other imprints got smudged off at some point? Manufacturer: Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Inc. National Drug Code (NDC): 00781-518 Levothyroxine is typically used to treat hypothyroidism. It may also be used to treat goiter via its ability to lower thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), a hormone that is considered goiter-inducing. Adverse effects: Dosing must be carefully controlled to achieve TSH levels within the normal reference range. Long-term suppression of TSH values below normal values will frequen...
I have been on 75mg of Levothyroxine for about 12 weeks now and I've started to feel really tired again is this normal? I had a blood test last week and I am hoping that the doctor will up my dosage but if they don't is this normal? ## Hi, Sophie! Sorry you aren't feeling great. Yes, many people with thyroid conditions experience tiredness and it can be caused by either the medication or fluctuations in the thyroid hormone levels, perhaps both, it's difficult to say. Make sure to inform your doctor of the problem, when you go in for your next visit to get the blood test results, so they know what's going on. Is there anything else I can help with?
Is it Levothyroxine 50 mcg tablet an oblong white pill with a 50 on one side and a GG 332 on the other side? Thanks a lot for your time... ## Hi, CN! Yes, you have received the correct medication. It may be different from the tablet you previously received from your pharmacy due to the fact that there is currently a shortage of this medication. The reasons haven't been given, but the complete supply from one manufacturer isn't currently available. Several people have asked very similar questions. Some pharmacies have been unable to get in any generic supply, at all and have had to provide the name brand. Are there any other questions or concerns?
it was supposed to be a white pill, levothyroxine 50 mcg. however I received green oblong pill with 9 and 3 on one side and 7 3 6 5 onb the other side. the size is also bigger than the white pill I took for years ## Wow! It's a very good thing that you noticed. A green, oblong tablet with 93 on one side and 7365 on the other is a 50mg Losartan tablet. This is an ARB that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Learn more Losartan details here. I double checked to be sure, but there aren't any green, oblong Levothyroxine tablets with the 93 imprint on them. I believe your pharmacy made an error. Have you contacted them?
Can you take Kavinace and Levothyroxine without side affects ## HI, Marie! Kavinace is just a nutritional supplement that's claimed to help with sleep issues and anxiety by supporting GABA, it contains vitamin B6 and a proprietary blend of Taurine. I didn't find any problems listed between the medication and this supplement, but I was unable to run a full check due to the listing of the proprietary blend, thus the best suggestion I can make is to check with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking it. Are there any other questions or concerns?
Hello All, I have been on levothyroxine 125 for about two weeks and I hav e swollen ankles and feet on a daily basis. After contacting my dr, she said I should take two water pills and a linsopril twice a day even though I have weak bladder from Multiple Sclerosis. If I take a iopdine supplement will this up my levels? advice plz!!! ## I am not sure if the iodine would work to help enable your levels to change and for you to lower the dosage. But the severe swelling can be dangerous, which is why your doctor wants you to take the diuretics. If it remains untreated, there is a chance that it could cause severely elevated blood pressure and/or congestive heart failure. Has anything else changed in your lifestyle recently that may have caused the swelling/fluid retention? Are you eating di...
Is it ok to take l- theanine with levothyroxine and amlodipine besylate ? ## L-Theanine is a natural supplement and therefore could not be checked for interactions in the drug databases. However, since it is an amino acid, in my opinion it would be fine. If you're really still concerned I would suggest visiting a Naturopath regarding this supplement. Interestingly enough, there are interactions found between Levothyroxine and food; same goes for Amlodipine. "Consumption of certain foods as well as the timing of meals relative to dosing may affect the absorption of T4 thyroid hormone (Levothyroxine)." "The consumption of grapefruit juice may slightly increase plasma concentrations of Amlodipine." I hope this information helps! ## Can I take amplodipine and levothyroxi...

Read more: Do you have any questions? ## I have recently gone from levothrixine 100 yellow to levothrixine 112 pink. I am now feeling tired and anxious/nervous. Is this normal? ## Dec. 2012 I had a thyroidectomy. levothyroxine went from 25, 75, 100 with TSH 77, 20, 5. My dose was just changed from 100 to 112 and I have insomnia. I sleep odd hours and only for one or two hours at a time. This seems to be the story with everyone. Would love a good night's sleep!
how does the pill look like? ## my precription was refilled . the first capsule was light in color, now the new refill is Lighjt orchid . Doe this matter? ## Just to clear this up, no the colors don't actually mean anything. That is something that is entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer. If a new refill of the same medication in the same dosage is a different color, then it's most likely also from a different manufacturer. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. Anybody that isn't sure is welcome to post the details on the pill, including the imprints on them and someone will gladly double check for you. Are there any comments or questions? Is there anything I can help with? ## Levothyroxine 75 mg is grey in color very tiny sweet pill.
what herbs if any can I take with levothyroxine and anapril ## Unfortunately, I can't check for you that way, it's rather backwards. I'm sorry. There are just far too many possible interactions for me to list them all in such a manner. However, if you can post back with the specific herbal preparations that you'd like to take, then I can check for you to see if there are any known problems listed. You can learn more Levothyroxine details here and you can learn more Enalapril details here. Can you please post back with more details? Thanks!
I found a small oval purple pill in my sons room. It has an M on one side and L 12 on the other. Any idea what it is? ## Based on the description provided, I've identified your purple oval pill as Levothyroxine sodium 175mcg (0.175 mg). This medicine is a hormone replacement usually given to patients with thyroid problems, specifically, hypothyroidism. Manufacturer: Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. National Drug Code (NDC): 00378-1817 You can learn more about this drug on the page for Levothyroxine Details I hope this helps!
i just started taking levo today and after reading all the negative responses,im not sure if i want to take my 2nd dose is their anybody that is benefiting from this drug? ## I actually know someone who has to take Levothyroxine everyday for the rest of their lives, as a means of thyroid replacement hormones. From what I've been told, the medication itself hasn't had any ill effects on her overall well-being. Although I think it just goes to show that these medications really can effect each individual differently. I also think most people who do post on forums in general, often do so to complain about what their taking. Those without complications have little to no reason to seek information or advice from online forums and therefore you do not hear much about the positive aspe...
my tsh test report is 56.9 ulU/ml . iam pregnant of 4 months and taking 50mg thyroxin tablets .should i continue intake of tablet or is it harmful to my baby ## I am male of 63 years old I found my TSH 11.6 before 2 months my doctor advised Thyoroxine 25 mg tab for first 30 days then TSH remained 6.68 now i am taking the same tablet of 50 mg. Sir I want to know is it to be continued for many yers or may be discontinued. Thanks ## sarafeen, what has your doctor advised? Levothyroxine is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, so in these doses that usually just replace what your body is missing, it hasn't been known to cause harm to the baby. And Ram, it's really going to depend on how you respond to the current dosage of the medication. Have you talked to your doctor about it?...
