I am hypo started Levothyroxine in November 2012, increased in Dec 2012 from.25 mcg to ..375 mcg started with itching, then symptoms got worse. now I am dizzy, light headed like I am in a fog, rash on hands with what looks like little blisters, body itching all over , feel like heart is racing, shortness of breath, and much more. have been to the doctor almost every week, Sent to allergist because of the itching, but I am pretty sure that it is this med. Anyone else having these problems? Sorry this is a mess as I am typing this on my phone? ## The blistering rash is something I don't remember being reported before from Levothyroxine, but there have been mentions of the other symptoms quite a few times from people taking it. jsp on side and 53 on the other side ## Is the marking JSP 513? That is the imprint on a round, peach colored 25mcg Levothyroxine tablet. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. However, I am unable to find any listed with the JSP and just 53.

Can one use the Sensa diet while on Levothyroxine 50 mcg ## @Jenny, Based on my own research I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use Sensa, since it's ingredients are considered safe and for the most part natural. The dietary guidelines for Levothyroxine also note the following: "Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue your normal diet." - so I don't think you should have to be overly concerned about that. Referenced from: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682461.html#special-dietary I hope this helps!

Found this little orange pill with only 19 above the underscore on one side ## Hello, The closest match I can find is Levothyroxine sodium (0.125 mg). It is a round, light orange pill with the imprint 3919 over a V. Maybe the other imprints got smudged off at some point? Manufacturer: United Research Laboratories/Mutual Pharmaceutical Company This medicine is a hormone replacement usually given to patients with thyroid problems, specifically, hypothyroidism. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Levothyroxine Details If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you.

What are the numbers on the tabs? ## The marking will be different from manufacturer to manufacturer, since they all have to use a unique imprint. What are the markings on the tablets you have? Some markings include: M L10 JSP 519 and 3919 V But this is NOT a complete list, if you post back with the markings on the tablet you are questioning, I will gladly look it up for you! ## Why have chemists in u.k. given me two DIFFERENT BRANDS of levothyroxine (I take 125mg daily) EVERY time I get prescription past few years. THEY say its because they have to purchase 'cheapest' drug each week. I DON@T BELIEVE THIS. And stated that in the law of averages - they MUST have one drug company that sells both 100mg and 25mg cheaper than others in SAME WEEK. I believe this is a scam - to prevent...

What dosage of Levothyroxine is a green oblong pill with 9 and 3 on one side, and 7 3 6 5 on the other side? ## This is not a Levothyroxine tablet, if that is what you were supposed to receive, you've been given the wrong medication. The tablet with the 93 7365 marking contains 50mgs of Losartan, which is an ARB that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. You can learn more Losartan details here. Did you get these at a local pharmacy?

I went off nuzak but at the same time changed from Eltroxin to Diotroxin. In that change I have been putting on weight and my stomach feeling uncomfortable and bloated constantly. Would it be from the Diotroxin that I'm now on and isn't working for me? Or possibly coming off the Nuzak? I'm thinking about going back to Eltroxin but not sure which could be the cause. ## Such symptoms would most likely be due to starting a new medication, those aren't things that are normally caused by stopping one. Diotroxin contains Levothyroxine and Liothyronine and these types of medications are well known to cause weight gain and GI upsets, such as what you're experiencing. These side effects should start to taper off in about 4 to 6 weeks, as your body adjusts to the medication. A...

Taking 25mg of levothyroxine for 5 yrs. with reg. follow up and tests. I am now experiencing extremely dry skin and dry, sore eyes. I've tried everything but nothing helping. Any suggestions? ## Hi Cindy, Unless you think you may be dehydrated or having an allergy to a certain food or skincare ingredient, my only guess is that your body is just not accepting this medication any more. Over time, our body chemistry changes and reacts differently to things. Have you spoken with your doctor about this? Hi there- I have suffered from M.E. for 11 years- which, I know, has very similar symptoms to hypothyroid- Anyway, I had to have blood tests done for a private clinic in 2010- My GP did these tests, but I was never called in to discuss the results... Luckily, my nutritionist picked up on the low level of serum ferritin(7) and started me on a gentle Iron preparation- But my TSH levels were 5.13 and T4 14- My M.E. seemed to be worsening, especially 'brainfog'- and I have been through the Menopause now- so I asked for more tests and my thyroid levels are now TSH 5.30 and T4 12- I have had no help from my Doctors in 11 years so it was no surprise when, instead of calling in(I'mhousebound) A GP who I have never seen, rang me- Said it was 'my call' if I wanted to start med...

This pill is pink. I am allergic to Red 40. Can you please tell me if Red 40 is in this pill. ## Since Levothyroxine is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies, so I can't check the specific ingredients without knowing more information. Can you post back with the markings on the tablet, or the name of the manufacturer, please? If you do so, I'll glad check for you. Thanks! ## The bottle reads Levothyroxin 25mcg Tab Myla The pills have what looks like a L and a 4 on one side and a M on the other. Thank you!

I had a total thyroidectomy and 10 lymphnodes removed due to papillary carcinoma in october 2012. I started a higher dose of levothyroxine (150mcg) a week ago. I'm having a myriad of the "less common" symptoms that I'm hoping will go away as my body acclimates. The most annoying is I have extreme breast tenderness and swelling. It is to the point where it hurts to be hugged and no bras I have fit. Is that normal and should I expect it to dissipate as I acclimate? ## Hi Leah, In time, your body should acclimate to the medication and the symptoms should go away. However, since your pain seems to be more severe, I would definitely speak with your doctor if it persists or becomes totally unbearable. Learn More: Levothyroxine Details I hope this insight helps! In December I had half my thyroid removed, what now? Besides recovery from the cancer/not cancer game they did while I was playing the wiating game with the dr's.. Measurements is the stage? who thought this s*** up? It wasn't funny, and I would have prefered straight up answers, from liscenced professionals. Multiple biopsy's ..scared the snot out of us.. over a non functioning enlarged thyroid... calling it a tumor.. glad we kept our business to our selfs.. ## I'm very sorry for the scares you had to endure, may doctors seem to be fatalists and assume the worst immediately, which isn't always fair to their patients. Years of Levothyroxine and never felt better. completely quit and have more energy, but very grumpy ## From what I could gather, irritability is listed as a side effect of Levothyroxine. Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682461.html#side-effects It could be that there is still some left in your system or even just your body getting used to not having it. How long have you been off of this medication for?

Hi all, 6 weeks ago I had my operation and was told that as only half my thyroid had been removed, I would not need medication. My level has come back at 7.87 and have been prescribed 25 mg dose of Levthyroxine to start tomorrow morning. I suppose I am really asking if anyone can tell me their experiences when they first started medication as I am due to return to work on Monday and wondering how I may be affected and what to look out for. Thank you ## How did your return to work go? Have you have any problems since you started the medication? Learn more Levothyroxine details here. I have never taken it, but from other posts on here, I can tell you that when first starting it, some people have experience nausea, dizziness, palpitations and irritability. ## Hi Verwon, Back to work is goi...
