After starting Mono Linyah I spot each month the week before my period. Usually only 3 days. The past 2 months I start spotting the week before my period until my period starts. And I have constipation each month up to a week, using Miralax & fleet enemas is the only thing that gets me regular. Is this related to the hormones? Also, where do these hormones come from? taking linzess for 60 days. not working as well as it did in the beginning. can I take a lax. while taking linzess ## You shouldn't do so, unless your doctor approves. Are you making sure to take it on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before ingesting anything else? This medication has been kind of iffy, a lot of people have found that it seems to stop working, after awhile. How long have you been taking it? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, bloating, gas, and diarrhea. ## Does the bloated tummy go back to normal if I stop the linzenss?

I have a problem metabolizing meds. Have IBS, bad reaction from Cymbalta am dealing with that. I was very constipated, even after multiple laxatives. Got linzess and took 1 pill. Within 3 hours I was vomiting, nauseated, diarrhea weakness. Even the sinus and sneezing happened. Feels like more Cymbalta effects. ## The FDA does list those as being possible side effects of this medication. You may also experience bloating, dizziness, stomach pain, and flatulence. How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change? Are these the only medications you take?

I had my first colonoscopy yesterday. Used Prepopik, got as free sample from GI doc. I was freaking out from all reviews on this product. I took this advice and it seemed to work for me: following a low residue diet 3 days prior to procedure&1 day prior only clear liquids. I started really hydrating with pedialyte, propel,& other clear liquids 3 days prior to test. I got a prescription for Zofran to help with nausea. Took 1 of those about an hour before each dosage of prep was due. Make sure you chill water so you've got really cold water to mix the powder in. Drink the prep through a big straw. I've been taking livogen tablets for 45 days due to severe stomachaches during my periods, but have recently been facing a problem of constipation and pain during discharge.. (no bleeding), just black stool... Kindly help me out... I haven't had this constipation problem in the past... Is this because of livogen? My husband began the entire process with Prepopik at 6:00 pm and another dose at 2:00 am before his procedure at 9:30 am. It's now 6:44 am about 12 hours since the first dose and NO ACTION YET! OMG! Now what? Cancel procedure that takes forever to schedule? We will not waste money on a procedure if my husband is not cleaned out! Linzess was prescribed by my pcp, 1 capsule every other day for oic. It works within about 4 to 5 hrs and works just fine, no sidefects what so ever. The medicine works just fine for OIC. So whatever you people are experiencing has got to be a fluke, the medicine works just fine. ## We are all different, so a medication that works well for you may not work great for someone else that tries it. Have you experienced any side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, bloating, diarrhea, and abdominal pain that the FDA lists as being common with this medication?

I was on the 290mcg Linzess and the diarrhea and abdominal pain was unbearable. Doctor has since switched me to Trulance which just came out. Having regular bowel movements with no pain or diarrhea. Doesn't need to be taken with food either. I have fought this for years and for the first time in a long time it's manageable.

After taking linzess for 8 months I gained 20 pounds and developed every symptom for hypothyroidism again. For the past 12 years I have been on synthroid 75. I have not had any hypothyroid symptoms once I began taking synthroid until taking the linzess medication. I stopped taking linzess and hoping it will exit my body quickly so my synthroid meds will begin working again. Why don't doctors tell you it prevents your thyroid meds from working? Why don't they tell you it will make you gain weight? I was told by my gastro doctor to take linzess 30 minutes before I eat anything on a empty stomach. but it not working. he didn't tell me how much water to drink or whether I should drink something with my meal or not ## Hello, Clyde! The manufacturer states that it can be taken with 1 ounce of water, or you can open the capsule and sprinkle the beads over a teaspoon of room temperature apple sauce, a half hour before eating or drinking anything else. TCL/180 on one side and plain on the other side of a round orange pill. I have been given this to give to my 86 year old blind woman patient. ## Who gave it to you to give to her? The marking, according to the manufacturer Time Cap Laboratories is actually TCL 081 and they list it as being a laxative. The FDA reports its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, stomach cramps, flatulence, and diarrhea.

Will MiraLAX that expired 11/15 still be effective? It's the individually sealed powder type. ## Hi Carol, From what I could gather, MiraLAX does have a shelf-life and expiration. According to the frequently asked questions on MiraLAX.com, "It is not recommended to use MiraLAX beyond the labeled expiration date.” However, I do think some factors influencing its expected shelf-life or integrity may also depend upon how it was stored as well as how long it has been since the product expired. If it hasn't been too long (e.g. a few months), my personal opinion is that it's probably fine, as expiration dates themselves can be arbitrary numbers, but you're still probably better off getting a new batch if you want to play it safe. rifaxin ## I went into liver failure 3.5 years ago. I am in End stage liver disease and have hepatic Encephalopathy. They had me on lactulose and in JUne tried me on Xifaxin. Its been like a miracle drug. I am not in a wheel chair don't use walker and can even drive and type. I guess the long term isn't what I need to worry about. Ive been giving my son Miralax, and he went to the bathroom one time but won't go on his own. ## ashley he needs lots of water. if you only give him fiber and not enough water it sets up like concrete in your gut and not only can you not poop but when you do it is very painful, because theres not enough moisture and the poop is dry and hard.poor little guy. there are also glycerine suppositories for children,give him warm prune juice. if he doesnt like the prune juice mix it with apple juice, and i mean real juice. and lots of it. it has to be warm. no cheese this is very constipating. just a few tips hope it helps ## So dont put the prune juice in the fridge at all ?? I have been taking Amitza for about 4 months. Works great but over time getting extremely tired and sharp pains throughout body. I'm in process of trying to loose weight as well giving up dairy,red meats, and carbs. Switched to linzess three days ago. Reading posts that worry me about weight gain. Can you clear up the subject on weight gain and which drug works best? I've had issues for 19 years and tried everything. These medications both work for me but I need to have energy, no sharp pains and no weight gain. ## I added a multi-vitamin and b-12 supplement to help with energy. So far I'm doing okay. My son was told by his GI doctor to do a clean out due to constipation & drank the whole prep 8 hrs ago & nothing has happened at all. Should I be concerned? ## I think it would be best to consult his doctor, he may be dealing with some type of instruction, if this medication didn't help. It usually doesn't take that long to work, and the FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, cramps, gas, and diarrhea. Has there been any change?
