I GET DRUG TESTED EVERY 2 WEEKS AND I HURT MY BACK AND MY AUNT GAVE ME A SOMA AND I HAVE A 12 PANEL DRUG SCREEN URINE TEST AND I WANNA MAKE SURE I'M NOT GONNA FAIL MY DRUG TEST.

I just gave myself a 12-panel drug test and I can assure you that it will not show up as barbituates, or anything else. I have been taking them for the last few weeks and I still came up negative for everything, just wanted to let you know to put your minds at rest. However, if the do a gm and they are specifically looking for milltown or soma you will come up positive, but they most likely would not do that.

Any doctor who tells u that somas aren't addicting should have his license pulled!!

To Tina this is absolutely right I was waiting for someone to say how the liver metabolizes it into meprobamate or Milltown which is an anxiety medicine but it actually a barbiturate as we'll. most barbiturates were given for headaches back in the day For housewives. But as far as I know it does not show up in a 10 or 12 panel because it starts is Caradisaprol and then is metabolized into Miltown but because it doesn't start as a barbiturate it doesn't show up as one because I was on it for years and years and in rehab with a ten panel test and I was good the whole time I am currently still in treatment and I am getting some soma from my friend Monday and I'm a little nervous bc I have worked very hard to get where I am but I'm sure I'll be fine bc I was before

So I found myself in this very problem with having to take a 12 panel urine test after I took 3 somas the very next day and I have read all the conversation about this on this sight but here's a little more insight on this matter you are OK and WILL PASS A 12 PANEL urine test but if they test specifically for somas or a select few that it will show up as false positive for morphine luckily I'm not and I came back clean so I wanted to thank all the ppl that sheared correct information about this matter so SOMAS ARE "NOT" TESTED FOR ON A 12 PANEL drug screen trust me I found out with a negative test today HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL.......

I think this depends on the kind of urine test that is ordered. I get UA's every few months, and my pain mgt. Dr uses a 12 panel screen. Soma absolutely is NOT included in those standard 12 and I am 1000% sure of this... I do take Soma and I'm also looking at the test form right now!! However, the Dr's also have the option of testing for many other things... they just need to ask for the other ones on the test request form. Most of the time, my Dr just orders the 12 panel, but maybe twice a year he will spring a "full" test on me, which DOES include Soma, and stuff like Fentanyl, Ambien, Tramadol, even alcohol.

Having said all this... in Jan. 2012, Soma became a controlled substance, and it wasn't controlled up to that point. So we may indeed see Soma included on a standard 12-panel test in the future, who knows.

For now, on a 12-panel test, you're all good, 100% sure.

Drug test are for testing for Illegal drugs. If a medication has been prescribed to you by a medical provider, and you took the prescription to a pharmacist to have filled and are taking that med. the drug is not positive. It will be a negative for Illegal drugs.
That being said, if you are being tested by your pain management provider, then they are testing to make sure the meds that are being prescribed for you are in your system in the right amount. If not, then you are going to have to explain why they are not. They also test to make sure other drugs that are not prescribed to you are not in your body.

Thank u KKH! Went to my new Dr today (he runs the treatment center I detoxed in) and he gave me Attarax for anxiety. I guess it is like Benadryl but used for anxiety caused by something like PAWS. I laughed at the thought (antihistamine for anxiety) but then did some research & found it is specifically indicated for anxiety. I tried it and it helped today. We will see tomorrow, at least I know I won't have any allergies cropping up (I actualy don't have any but you can't be too safe-Lol). Next question- anyone have any advice/input re: Tramadol/ultram. People tell me it is a very effective non-narcotic, etc, pain med and others tell me it is addicting and in the same class as soma without the powerful withdrawals. Someone else suggested Robaxin (never heard of it).

I was in drug court as well and I took somas all the time bcuz it was the only thing I could take without getting sanctioned. In other words, they do not test for somas in drug court in sarasota/manatee county florida.

TX: im sorry you are going through all this over a fairly benign script like soma. i never said soma wouldnt EVER show up, but no, soma does NOT show up on a 5-panel test. now i am realizing that these cheaper 5-panel tests are probably not that common. especially since you live in a border state like TX, you would probably be getting a 10 or 12 panel test at least. then EVERYTHING shows up. here in CO, the probation dept. seems to be using the 5-panel tests. trying to stay within their budget.

border states and coastal states like TX have more money in their budgets for drug-enforcement costs. every one of these "panels" they add to the tests increases the costs to whomever is involved. so since they have more money in their budgets for drug enforcement, they can afford to do more "panels", test for more things. again, i think it sucks you are going through this and i hope it works out for you.

I have been taking morphine for three years along with soma andd loratab due to an injury .I desperatly want to get off these and have tried the withdrawls are horrific.I don't think I can just go cold turkey they offer a methadone clinic here but do not want to go that route.please advise

Hi Apple,
When I get my UA's I have to sign the test request form, then I am given a copy of the form so I kind of know what's coming at my next appt. (the form is filled out in triplicate and I get the gold color one.) Maybe you can ask for a copy of your test form (tell them "for your records", to match up with your bill or something) and then you'll be able to know what your results will be based on what the Dr has checked off on the form. The way it works on a 12 panel anyways is the Dr checks off the stuff you SHOULD have in your system and you "pass" those if you actually are taking those meds. And then they test for everything else on the 12 panel also. As I mentioned in an earlier post, there are tons of other meds that the Dr could check off to be tested individually that are NOT included on the 12 panel, but they need to check off the specific name of the drug to be tested. According to what they've filled out on the form, my Dr has never ordered the QUANTITATIVE test for me, which would tell them HOW MUCH of a drug I have in my system. Hope this helps.

I said Heroin breaks down to morphine in your system, nothing about what SOMA does.As a matter of fact I'm the one that ask because I took some for my back and I was afraid they'd show up,,,,I'm on the methadone Clinic.

Soma can show up as a TCA on the 10 panel drug test. It just shows a trace of something in the urine, but most places do not see a trace as positive. Here in Detox we look at all of it. TCA's will pick up psych drugs, clonidines and soma's, too.
