Increase In Pred

Hi
I am on prednisone for secondary adrenal insuffiancy but I had to recently increase my dose because of a bad out break of poison ivy. I have been having chest pain that gets better when I lie on my stomach and a tingling sensation in my skin especially on head and neck. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this with pred. I feel like I'm going crazy and so scared I'm having a heart attack also had an increase in anxiety.

Hi Rachel,

Sorry to hear about your experience with Prednisone. Based on my research, it sounds like Prednisone may be causing all of those symptoms. Posted below are a list of side effects similar to what you might be experiencing:

heartburn
increased sweating
acne
thin, fragile skin
red or purple blotches or lines under the skin
headache
dizziness
difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
inappropriate happiness
swelling or pain in the stomach
seizures
irregular heartbeat
rash
hives
itching

Some of those side effects may be serious, so I would definitely encourage you to contact your doctor as soon as possible to make sure your body can still tolerate the medication.
