Im on a pain pump with Hydromorphone. I also take and Gabapentin and tramadol and recently my doc put me on methocarbamol also.... I seen to have a huge increase in obsessive bad thoughts and really bad depression.. is this common? is the new horrible depression because of the new med?? Really full of guilt, dread and feeling like I wish i were.... well , um ..don't have any will to go on like this... My pain is still there with spells of off the chart pain after any prolonged activity... I can't go on like this much longer, thinking of seeing a shrink but wonder if I should stop taking the methocarbamol first to see if that is the cause of my depression. What can you tell me about my situation...? I really don't want to see a shrink and I'm not sure I would open up to o...

Hello, I have an appointment coming up with PM Dr in a week. I am currently taking the morphine ER, 30mg twice daily, along with 4 10mg oxycodone per day as needed. .my questions are..is hydromorphone ER better vs the morphine ER in terms of pain control and how long it lasts in the body? I have very recently started to take these kinds of MEDS again and am trying to find something that works and I can afford. ..I know, good luck, right? Lol..anyway, I was also wondering if anyone out there might feel like hydromorphone is also better than oxycontin of similar strength? I know hydromorphone is way more potent than morphine, and I think I read that it is stronger than oxycontin also, but it seems to me that I have heard that the hydro does NOT last as long as the oxycontin. ..any help tha...

If I took 1 dilaudid 4mg I.v. on a Friday can I pass a lab test that tests for metabolites on Monday? Haven't been using, so my system was clean. 6'1" 180 lbs. And need to know if 72 hours is long enough for that type of urine test.thanks ## I know this is a late post but wanted to inform you 72 hours is the usual time frame for opiates to pass out of ur system but with a drug test that's pushing it. Your height/weight give you an advantage assuming that's due to a high metabolism which will allow u to process toxins faster. Best way to pass a drug test is to drink lost of fluids the day of ur test and pee a 3-5 times before ur test. Drink a fluid with color so ur urine isn't clear which will be a red flag. Its pointless to drink alot sooner than a couple hours b...

Tan round pill with wpi 3030 on it with a small hole in between the 3030, can someone please tell me what this is? ## Hydromorphone 16mg extended release ## I see that "WPI 3630" is identified as a 16mg hydromorphone HCL extended release tablet made by Watson, but the particular imprint in question refers to "3030", not "3630". Any clarification on that? If it's of any help though, the color of the WPI 3630 pill is reported to be yellow; whilst the thread description denotes theirs as being tan. I also find it odd that WPI 3030 doesn't come up under any search engine results. So for anyone seeking more specific details it may be that you may have to contact Watson (Actavis) directly.

Is the pill oxycodine in the same family as hydromorphone ## Hello, Becky! How are you? They are both opiates, if that's what your asking, but not directly related. They are derived from different substances, so if someone has a problem with one, they may be able to safely take the other. The FDA warns that they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

This tablet is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories and they list it as containing 8mgs of Hydromorphone, a generic for Dilaudid. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Will the pain management clinic be able to tell from the drug test if I have been taking oxycodone instead of or on top of my hydromorphone? ## Yes they can test for different substances. One will show up in the morphine category and the other in what they call morphine under. So if they are a pain clinic they normally separate the substances in their urine screening. As regular drug tests 5, 7, panel (different tests), only show opiates. But you can buy drug tests at the pharmacy and even some of these separate substances. They also test for the metabolites in tests, meaning the chemical digested shows up different then just the substance itself. ## I had A TON of coke on Saturday and then was tested at my pain management clinic on Wednesday. Do you think the metabolite will still be i...

How long does hydromorphone and hydrochloride remain in your bloodstream before being metabolized? ## Hello, Chucky! How are you? Hydromorphone Hydrochloride is actually just one substance, not two. The Hydrochloride just designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from. It usually only takes about 11.5 to 15.6 hours, but that could increase to 40 hours, if someone has renal impairment. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking a low dose Hydromorphone 2mg 3 times daily for 2 years now due to chronic pain from injuries I sustained in an accident. I want to eventually get off this drug all together, because truthfully I am afraid of this narcotic. My question is this, is it possible to experience side affects now after 2 years being on it? Recently, in the last few weeks I have been experiencing things that didnt bother me before with this drug. I dont know if its the drug thats doing this. I have severe drowsiness that comes and goes throughout the day, to the point where I have to hang on to the walI, it feels like I am going to pass out. I have abdominal pain, i am feeling fatigue and muscle pain throughout my body, and loss of balance alot. Is it possible to have these occuring now after ...

Hi. I took Hydromorphone 4mg 4 times a day for 11 years, but doc retired and pain management insists on extended release. Oxycontin ER caused my BP to spike high then return to normal in 4 hours..unacceptable. Hydromorphone ER is doing the same thing. Is there something about the extended release that could be causing my blood pressure to spike? Had no problem before switching to ER opiods. ## Hello, Jeanne! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you're experiencing. No, these medications typically cause low blood pressure, rather than high. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is it possible that your blood pre...

I am still taking hydromorphone capsules for pain. My doctor doesn't know that I still have some left over from a previous time... I was prescribed AA-Metronidazole for an infection... Will it be ok to take both? ## Hello, Jade! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. Were they both prescribed by the same doctor? The FDA classifies Hydromorphone as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Metronidazole is an antibiotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

I have taken hydrmorphone (4mg) 3 times a day for 3 yrs now. How long does does hydromorphone remain in your blood? ## Hi Warhorse1, When it comes to determining how long Hydromorphone remains in your blood, my research suggests that blood work done by a lab can only detect it for up to an "estimated" 24 hours or so (meaning there's probably negligible amounts or none at all by that point). Given Hydromorphone's relatively short half-life of about 2.5 hours, I wouldn't necessarily doubt those claims either. However, I'm sure these numbers could easily become cumulative over the course of 3 years and also based upon its frequency of use. Things like that may be a bit hard to factor into a time frame, but I hope this helps provide you with a ballpark figure. Happy ...

Using Hydromorphone 2 Mg. What should I look for and how to prevent terrible constipation with this medication. Thank you for your time. ## Hydromorphone is a narcotic, so along with the constipation, it may also cause dizziness, dry mouth and nausea. It really isn't good to mix other medications with it, without checking with your doctor. When I was on narcotic pain management, what I found that worked best to prevent the constipation and is completely natural were fiber supplements. Most people don't get enough in their diet, anyway and fiber is not known to cause reactions with many other medications. Are there any other questions? ## Take magnesium suppliments, when i broke my arm they gave my hydromorphone and i took magnesium to build bone density and stop constipation. ##...

Is it wise to go from Hydromorphone to Methadone? Looking for more pain relief. I have a tolerance to Hydromorphone now I think. Thanks all in advance! Have taken Hydromorphone for 6 years ## Hello, Kat! How are you? Methadone should actually be a last resort, because it is highly habit forming, even if you only take it as prescribed, it can very difficult to ever stop taking and some people end up having to remain on it for life. There are other medications available that are stronger than the Hydromorphone, such as Fentanyl, which is available in a time released patch, so you may want to speak to your doctor about trying it. The FDA classifies Fentanyl as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness...

I'm sorry, but I can't possibly post pictures of all Hydromorphone tablets for you, there are far too many on the market. What are the markings on it? That is what would enable me to verify the identification for you. Can you please post back with this information? Thanks! The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
