wondering if anyone else experinenced vomitting or nasuea when taking the new white pills, i have been on the yellow 10-325 for about two years for low back pain/procedure i had done, i dont take but about 2 a day now maybe 3 if that or if any on some days, but when i went for my new script and took my first one of the new white ones, i got ill and began vomitting within about 20 mins of taking it, the next day i took just half thinkin my body would adjust to it as i was in pain n didnt feel i had a choice, i still felt nauseous although didnt vomit and since have been okay, its been about 3 weeks since ive started taking the new pills... anythoughts or experience with these new ones would be greatly appreciated.... ## Yes they are awful. Does the hydrocone in Lortab 10/500 show up the same in a urinalysis test as Norco 10/325? ## Yes, they will both show up as the same thing on a standard urine test, since the active narcotic in them both is Hydrocodone. However, if this is a test from your doctor, they may also be looking at the levels of the medication, so those levels may be off if you are taking more or less of the medication than you are prescribed. I weigh 104.8lbs and have a impacted infected wisdom tooth. Would it be safe to take this dosage once a day for severe pain?? Thank you in advance :) ## Hi, Courtney! I'm sorry you're in pain. This is a pretty standard dose, but considering your size, you may want to just try half a tablet at once, especially if you aren't used to taking narcotics. The Hydrocodone in this is pretty potent. I generally run between 117 and 120, but have found that since I rarely take them, even the 5/500mg dosage of this hits me very hard and I can only handle half of a tablet at once. These are time released, so you can cut or break them, safely. Unless you already have a tolerance to narcotics, then I'd really think it best to start small and see how it affects you. I have a round pill with a triangle and it says 524 ## This is actually a very similar medication which contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 200mgs of Ibuprofen, rather than Acetaminophen. It's a generic for Vicoprofen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth and drowsiness. If hydrocodone soap upsets stomach will oxycodone do the same ## Not necessarily. Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are two different pain medications that effect each person differently. Some people actually respond very well to Hydrocodone and not so well to Oxycodone; and vise versa. Unfortunately there's really no way of knowing what to expect ahead of time with any medication that you haven't used before. Not to mention Hydrocodone is also accompanied by Acetaminophen, which can pose a lot of risks and side effects in and of itself. In that regard, Acetaminophen could very well be the culprit and not Hydrocodone. Have you had a chance to discuss this with your doctor yet?

I am a 61 year old woman weighing approximately 200 pounds. I have fibromyalgia. My pain medication is Tramadol. My prescription was messed up and I could not get them filled on time and I was hurting pretty bad. I read up on Webmd and saw where some people use pot to help them thru the hard times with Fibro. I used it for 3 days until my doctors appointment. Of course I tested positive (didn't realize they were going to give me a urine test) for pot. My doctors refused to give me my prescriptions because of it. They set my follow up appointment for 3 months later. Because of my pain I have had to resort to illegal matters. I have had to get Hydrocodone from a friend to help me with my pain. I don't know what the doctors at the pain center expected me to do without my pain medic...

I am prescribed Fentanyl Patch 100mcg/hr Q3days and 15mg Oxycodone QID PRN for break through pain. I recently had a urine drug test & just received a letter from my doctors office saying they were dropping me because I tested negative for Oxycodone & positive for Hydrocodone (which I was on about a year ago but stopped working for me) and Norhydrocodone (which I have never taken. I took my last Oxycodone approximately 1 and a half to 2 days before the test. I have not taken Hydrocodone for about a year. Is there an explanation of how this could have happened?

What is stronger and how do these 2 drugs compare.....10/325 hydrocodone vs. tramadol 50 mg ## You really can't compare them, since they aren't in the same drug classes. The Hydrocodone in the Vicodin/Lortab is a potent narcotic analgesic. But the Tramadol is just a centrally acting analgesic, though it is derived from an opiate, it is nowhere near as strong and effective as the opiate narcotic class. Both can be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
