How To Get Off Suboxone (Page 29)

Im Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx

Chaz, that is such good news!!!! I have been on subs slmost a yr. Down to .5 and have decided to cut the last 4mg. Strip into 16 pieces which would be .25 I don't have anymore sub left but have a bottle of tramadol. I do suffer from anxiety so I'm soooooooooo scared it will be worse. I do have a prescription for klonopin but already have a tolerance to it so I'm saving some xanax I got a few for when I completely stop. So let me get this right you were on subs for 8 years and dropped to .5 then stopped andtook tramadol and was fine?

Hi Jill, tramadol will help to take the edge off when you do jump but if I were you I,d keep up the tapering as long as you can. It will definately help minimize any discomforts.
Be very careful with the tramadol. It doesn,t mix well with some meds and I would not take over 150mg a day to start out with. Don,t forget your gonna have to taper off the trams. Another thing is tramadol can cause seizures so you gotta be careful.

Thank you Jolter. Do u happen to know what meds tramadol doesn't go with? I guess I can google it but I am on zoloft, klonopin and I have some zyprexia which is an anti pychotic that I don't take cuz it knocks me out but was planning on taking it when I jump to help me sleep, along with the tramadol..I'm a oreal wuss when it comes to wd because I already have severe anxiety and wd makes even someone without anxiety have it and I live alone and have to work. I'm also in the legal system and can't let anyone know that I'm doing this which in turn causes more anxiety. And as far as the taper, I only have one 8mg.strip left...so I have to cut it in tiny pieces. And when its gone its gone and I'm freaking out.dreading it.

Hi Jill, yes I was on suboxone for 8 years and really thought I would die on that stuff. I am on day 10 now and I am still taking the tramadol but it would be very difficult to get addicted to tramadol. It's not even a narcotic. In your last message you said you are on .50 now? If you cut your strip into 16 pieces that would be .50.

Yes that happened to me 3 times. I went to the rules to see and couldn't find anything saying we couldn't do that. I don't know what else to do.

Hi Chaz and Jill, Hate to tell you this but tramadol is addicting. Go on any tramadol forum/website and see for yourself. I never thought it was either because I never could catch a buzz with it. It can also cause something called gran mal seziures or something like that so take no more than what is prescribed on bottle. It will help along with getting as low as you can on subs.

JILL- I'm very happy to read you have it planned out when you finally make that jump off subs. I wish you all the luck!!!! If it does help, make a calendar so u can keep track and have a goal in mind. Sometimes, seeing your progress written down can be a huge motivator and keep u on track. I have social anxiety disorder and panic attacks. I'm scared to death of stopping subs just because I know I will start having panic attacks. I could drench a towel in a half an hour just from my severe anxiety and the sweating that comes with it. I'm even taking Zoloft but that doesn't help the anxiety that much when you are having wds. Is that how it is for you? Can I ask how much Zoloft you take a day? Should I get zanax to help with my anxiety when I do make the jump off of subs?? I know u are scared but you're NOT alone. Hi guys,
Look into Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT). Dr. Steve Vazquez out of the Dallas area has developed a therapy using light, color and eye positioning to create rapid change. Brain specs are showing brain chemistry change from this process. I've been in training for over 3 years and use it with my clients and myself and the results are astounding. Two of my clients completely got rid of social phobia, one of them in 15 minutes on a first session! It does help with withdrawal symptoms. Look it up. You can go to ETTIA.org and see if there's someone where you live who does it. It's very cutting edge and most therapists have never heard of it.

Crystal,I'm on 50 mg.zoloft it doesn't seem to make a dif. I've been on it a month. I get a prescription for klonopin and take 2 1 mg pills a day and it helped but now my anxiety is so bad from going down on subs that I have panic attacks. I do have some xanax I'm trying to save but its hard. I will write it down on a calender like u said.I swesr, the anxiety makes me feel like a freak. I'm glad someone understands. THANK YOU

Jill- I can understand what you mean. Sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy and I'm gonna die feeling like that. People that don't have high anxiety like we do will never understand how uncomfortable it feels and how we just want it to go away. (I'm NOT trying to offend people who do not have anxiety by what I wrote). I've been dealing with it since I was 16 and now I'm almost 28!!! I thought for sure it would just be a phase that will eventually pass. But it hasn't. And I don't know if it ever will. But I can tell you this, I have gotten much better at dealing with the panic attacks. It's still hard though. I also take 50mg. I think when I'm ready to taper off of subs, I'm gonna see if my doc will up it to 75 or 100mg. I did try to taper off subs before but my anxiety got so bad that I went back up to 1.5 mg. That's what I was taking before I tapered. Does Klonopin ( spelling?) help with anxiety? Cuz if it does then I definitely want to talk to my doctor about it. Thanks for the info. I know, I've suffered with it for like 20 yrs. Klonopin is a benzodiapine like xanax, so yes...it does help withanxiety big time..I'd be screwedwithout it.talk to ur dr. And they r more apted to give u klklonopin than xanax becsuse xanax is abused more.

Klonopin is very strong and causes serious depression, even more anxiety, anger etc....it's also not meant to be taken for longer than a few months. Any doctor who keeps you on it longer than that is a crook and a quack. There are natural supplement that work just as well and I know from experience as I've taken every Benzo out there! Gaba or L-Glutamine from gnc will work great for withdrawal. Also use adrenal plus or something similar because our adrenal glands are putt thru hell when we take opiates. Fear is from the devil so don't accept it. Accept God's love instead which will cast out fear...read 1 John 4:18...Change your thinking....it's in your own power to stop anxiety! "As a man thinks so he becomes" thoughts are powerful...for those on here who been talking about anxiety...pray, pray, pray in Jesus name and get off the Benzodiazepines too...just so you all know I'm ordering these supplements I'm talking about...some I already have...and detoxing off subs for the 10th and final time....I didn't have the adrenal plus the other times and found its vital to get off subs. Also using something called opti liver from whole foods...which can't be purchased online only at whole foods...take this the first week of detox...take adrenal plus the second week adding with all vitamins and minerals out there and continue using all this for at least 3 months!

Hi Jill where are you from? Thanks Roy, I know they say they are addicting but that is just something they need to tell people as a possible side effect. My husband was a pharmaceutical sales rep and he told me the chances of that happening are slim.

So today is day 11 for me with no suboxone and I don't even feel like I am gonna need to take any tramadol, so excited!

Robyn- thanks for the info about Klonopin. I did some research and find out it can be just as bad or worse then Xanax. I have taken Xanax before and did not like it. It made my anxiety worse. I have gone years without taking any anxiety medication. I used what I knew by dealing with it. But it was too hard and too embarrassing for me. I have so many bible versus that I read having to do with anxiety. I do put my faith and trust in the Lord, but I feel I can't manage it alone, anymore. Thanks for the information. Benzos are as difficult to get off of as Suboxone! Possibly even harder for some people. I've seen some of my clients reduce the dose so slightly and have major shaking and anxiety. The reduction was so small that none of the docs knew they were in withdrawal. I referred to an addiction specialist who knew right away it was withdrawal. I've seen this happen 3 times.

Emotional Transformation Therapy has been very effective in treating cravings and withdrawal symptoms too. in fact, I've never seen anything more effective for treating anxiety! I've seen people get rid of anxiety disorders so fast, you wouldn't believe me if I told you! I love the feedback suggestions for natural supplements and prayer.
