How To Get Off Suboxone (Page 22)
UpdatedIm Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx
How did you get off with no wd's?! None?
Blondie, are you the one that your doctor put you on opana and morphine? That's what I was on for a severe accident that left my back in terrible shape. If your taking those pills, I don't understand, sure you're not taking suboxene but you're taking opiates again. What did you gain? Now you have to withdraw from those medications.
Emma, all due respect, READ MY WHOLE STORY (ALL OFF MY POSTS) before you comment. If you read my posts, my TRIPLE BOARD CERTIFIED, HARVARD FELLOWSHIP,INCREDIBLE AND VERY REPUTABLE, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND KIND DR. HAS ME ON 30mg Morphine ER TWICE P/DAY FOR THE FIRST WEEK TO GET ME OFF SUBUTEX WITH NO WD'S AS WELL AS NORCO 10/325 EVERY 4-6 HOURS AS NEEDED FOR A MONTH UNTIL ALL THE POISON (AKA SUBS) ARE OUT OF MY SYSTEM AND THEN HE WILL TAPER ME OFF OF THAT, WHICH IS A HECK OF A LOT EASIER THAN SUB WD'S, AND I WILL START GETTING EPIDURALS WHEN NEEDED AND I WILL TAKE NON NARCOTIC PAIN MEDICINES. TODAY IS DAY 7 OF BEING OFF SUBS AND I SWEAR, I HAVEN'T HAD EVEN THE SLIGHTEST WITHDRAWALS, THANK GOD!! I don't feel high at all, I FEEL GREAT...I FEEL FULLY ALIVE AGAIN!
I think your PM Doctor is leading you down an unknown path. It has been my experience with my PM Doctor that he is adamant against putting me on other stronger opiates to get off of Suboxone. The best and only way to get off of Sub is to taper slowly for 6 weeks. I still had some w/d's, like diarrhea and headaches, but once I got past that, I did good. Two months later, I still have some light cravings, but the w/d's are gone and luckily, I never experienced any RLS.
Absolutely, you can go to a PM Doctor to get off of Suboxone. You will need to find a caring PN Doctor to do this. Most PM Doctors want to keep you as a long term patient, so you need to find a doctor that is caring and looking out for your best interests. If you feel that he or she is not working for you, don't be afraid to change to another. Check out your local hospital for references or call your county drug agency. Life is better without drugs, especially opioids.
Hey terrified blonde (aka)free from suboxone when the dr starts taking the pain meds awsy will you let me know how that goes im juat curious as to how long he tapers you and if you have a little wds im sure it will be very little but im still curious and remember im still very proud of you for everything thanks alot. Steve
I really, really doubt anyone can get off of Suboxone without any w/d's. I am not saying that it is impossible, but if it has to do with substituting one opiate for another, I think you are mis-leading the people on this board. Every opioid or opiate has w/d's attached to it when anyone stops taking them, unless they were a short term or intermittent user. Like if the doctor gave you 30 pills of Hydrocodone and you used 6 of them in 2 weeks while recovering from surgery, this would be NO problem to quit without any w/d's. However, if you took 100's like me, there is no way I could just stop and not suffer w/d's. I went through detox and after a few days, I felt really good. Then about day 4, all hell broke loose and I began to get sicker than a dog. I immediately went back to the detox center and they put we on Suboxone, which had an immediate affect on me and stopped the sickness for two months and then weaned me off for 6 weeks with limited w/d's. Whatever anyone decides, I wish them the best of luck and also success. I pray for all of us addicts for recovery everyday and I hope everyone else out there is doing the same. Not to preach, but God can and does help the cure. We all deserve the best that life has to offer. May God Bless us all.
I bought cell food amino acid detox drops and it kicked my system just last night into detox...not dope sick but detox sick....big difference. Detox sick is like a very mild flu...no fever no shakes....if I am successful I'll keep everyone updated. I had a small piece of sub yesterday early afternoon....but none since. Going to take more cell food amino acid this evening....I'd rather be detox sick... Than dope sick any day!
Slsmakingit, Good Morning, I hope you're doing well. To answer your question, YES, I will definitely keep you posted. I've already started tapering myself and I still feel GREAT and no wd's. I really want to thank you for your advice and your support and encouragement when I stared this Sub detox. It really helped. I'm surprised at the people who are speaking to me so rudely! But, as I said, I will keep you posted...I stopped the Morphine ER last 24 hours ago and I'm still doing GREAT! I'll post on here this evening. Right now, My Husband and I are going on a nice long Harley ride in the sun. GOD BLESS++
I have started at 24 mg and weaned myself in a year down to 2 mg a day as well...is this where you then stopped taking subs....?
Your totally right , it's a money game to them , they don't know how it feels to get off that crap , I nearly died twice due to cold turkey , just take less and less , the only way to feel normal again is to be strong willed and just come off it , but do it slowly please , trust me I know how hard it is , good luck I wish you well :0)
Terrified Blondie i know what you mean but i know why they are saying those things also dont worry about them ive read your post ALL of them and if they would have read them they would understand your story is somewhat different than most of ours on here just keep doing what your doing and keep me informed and also read others post youll understand we struggle with this every day fight just to have set backs and we try everything possible to get off these things and its harder for us because of our situations i pray for you and them every day God bless
Thanks
Regarding Tramadol. It is not a Narcotic, and in about 2 months for the first time the Feds will make it a controlled substance. Some states have already done this on their own. In does not turn into any type of opiate in your body. It is impossible with it molec make up. It seems some docs or phams will lie to make it seem worse than it is. There are three ways to prove this, but much too long to get started. However, yes it is addicting, and can cause other issues.
A little back story, I was on subs for five years , I took seven months to taper from 12 mg to .75. December 13, 2013 was my last dose, all n all it wasn't bad. The question today though is I'm 25 and have had no history of acne, now I can't get rid of it. Not to the point of being severe but it's annoying, also still abnormal armpit perspiration, also no history of that. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on this, is it a hormone imbalance since getting off suboxone, any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Also to anyone thinking about quitting, do it now, it only gets harder. A better version of ourselves awaits on the other side
Okay I'm going through the same thing and I'm scared. It's been almost 5 years. I don't want to mess up! How did you do it, how long was it painful?
Please write me back,
Kay
Hi kay, I'm assuming you meant five years since you got on suboxone. If that's the case, how I got off it the first try was really multiple things when put together did the trick. First was a slow taper, I took as much as 32 mg at one point so I took around seven months to finish the taper. Easiest way to do this is make a calendar with doses and stick to it, even if I had a few bad days, it helped keep me on point when I looked at it. Also good diet and exercise were huge, and finally when the day comes I to jump I got perscribed chlonodine. I can elaborate further if you need I am currently on mobile and I hate iPhone keyboard for emails so I'll keep it short! Good luck
ive been taking for a year, im on a gram n a half a day... im running out soon so how do I stop n have limited or no wd's?
It's impossible to stop without any w/ds at all. You need time off of work...like a lot. Get supplements like gaba Sam E DLPA vitamin bs all of them amino acids l tyrosine etc but even with all that u will be sick...
I know many are gonna disagree with me but I've been off subs for 32 days now and I used tramadol for about a week after I tapered down to about .125-.25mg.....I was on Subs for over 5 years at 8mg a day....I was lucky and never felt any WDs from tapering down....I tapered all the way down to .25 with no issues and stayed at the mg for months....I had 10 50mg tramadols from a surgery I had long ago....I took 2 the first 2 days....then 1 the next 5 days then a half the last 2 days....I only took them at about 5:30am before work and I was fine for the entire day....I felt a little down for a couple days but I DID NOT get sick and WD....I'm sure many are going to disagree with me about the tramadol but it 10000% worked for me....I didn't take more than 100mg in a day and ONLY took them for about a week and a half....they can be extremely dangerous and addictive if you start eating them a lot....they also cause seizures if you WD from them so be careful and if you have tramadol give it a shot if u feel comfortable....but make sure u taper down from the subs first!! Good luck everyone and stop listening to all these insane "horror stories" they don't help with getting off subs....all they do is put s*** in ur head....
Maybe I'm missing something, granted who am I to judge but isn't the point of getting on suboxone to abstain from any opietes... Taking opietes to allow for an easier detox from suboxone is a deal with the devil for most. All things in life that are hard and take work and worth it in the end.
