How To Properly Take Suboxone Without A Doctor

Hi, Im needing some help and support. I'm 21 and I've been addicted to Norcos for 2 years, taking them every day. I was taking 10 a day, then was able to lower myself to 5 a day about a month before I detoxed. I flushed all my pills a little over a week ago an was given suboxone by a friend, to help me withdraw. I have no health insurance and each sub doctor I called was either way too expensive or they had no openings for new patients. So I took a quarter of suboxone, the orange pill, after 15 hours of withdrawal. Sub helped that day and the next day, but after that it had no effect on me and I'm wondering why? My friend who's been on it for months under a doctor's care, said its supposed to give u a little buzz and help with your cravings. But it hasn't worked for me that way, maybe I need to take more? I stopped taking it and I've been cold turkey for almost a week. I'm feeling so depressed and losing my will, Im almost at the point to start using again. Can someone please tell me when to take this suboxone or how it's supposed to be taken? I'm so frustrated and just want to stop my intense cravings, I don't want to start using again! I want to stay clean.
**Also, what is the difference between sub & methadone? Which one is right for me? Although I'd rather stick with the suboxone I have so as not to spend more money.

I took 8mg suboxone on last Tuesday and it’s Tuesday of another week. Im still not feeling my pain medication which is Norco 7.5mg what should I do. I had to take 6 pills to get relief and it still wasn’t what I was used to. Please help me!! It’s my first time even taking Suboxone
Be strong.
I have the same Norco addiction u do and I just started with 2 mg Suboxone after no pills all night.
Waiting for the sub to have affect
I have been taking approx. 80 mg of various opiate pain meds for 6 months.for pain.
Withdrawal symptoms are anxiety, restlessness and overall sore body.
Decided time to stop opiates.
Just took approx. 2 mg Suboxone after a night of no opiates.
Will wait 45 minutes and see how I feel.
Any advice ? If I feel withdrawal from opiates hard should I take more Suboxone?
Do not get on the suboxone! It is harder to get off of than any opiate. Trust me, I was put on them by my doc because I had taken pain meds for years & I took the subs for over 5 years, wean yourself off the pain meds as easy as you can...the withdrawals are a b****. But you're only trading one addiction for the other & I promise the suboxone addiction is worse. Hope this helps.
I have been taking Suboxone for 3 years now and yes it is suppose to give you a little energy. The one that said it doesn't really don't know what they are talking about but I am prescribed 62 a month by Dr and I only take no more than a half each day so I am able to save a lot of strips. I should be able to having to pay the Suboxone Dr $ 175.00 a month. I use to be with a Dr that took insurance but I got back on pills and then that Dr wasn't taking anymore patients so I had to go with one where I paid 250.00 down plus 175.00 and then 175.00 a month but my insurance does pay for the Suboxone.
I'm wanting to get off of them completely but I stay tired all the time and I believe it's caused by the Suboxone. How's the best way to get them flushed?
Tabbycat, you can get Subs. Search for an opiate dependence doctor in your area. Then set an appointment. Unfortunately you may have to take a day off work. Some doctors require you to be in full withdrawals so they can assess your needs. That is what I had to do for my doc. I just didn't take any pills the day before. It really got intense but my wife was right there with me (thank God). This has been a vicious cycle for me. I've gotten so good at taking and weaning off Subs that I can do it in about three weeks with minimal discomfort. I've shared my experience with friends and watched them dose down just like me so it does work. If you need a hand, message me back and I'll help in any way I can. This is my umpteenth time doing it. Subs WILL help if you're truly ready. And it sounds like you are.
I have been on 20 MG percocet four/5 times a day as well as 2 MG of xanax as needed for anxiety panic attack issues for the last 10 years for chronic back issues & do not want to have back fused as they keep talking about and now I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis... Yes the meds do work for the most part yet I have been on them so many years I feel like tolerance has gotten much higher so I am running out of medication before it is due to be refilled! I have yet to even deal with the rheumatoid arthritis part of all of this for I was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago and I'm fearful from what I read that it's going to be a lifetime disease that I have to figure out how to deal with. I am tired of living on the pain meds for I sometimes feel like they control my life I don't control them, yet I am scared of how I will be able to cope with my pain without them for this is all I know for the last 10 years.. I am still going through my general who I adore he now is referring me to a rheumatoid arthritis specialist so we can deal with that.. He does not know I have been running out of my medication sometimes a week or two before it's supposed to be filled and I'm having to purchase it through friends of mine which I cannot afford to do & I feel shady doing this too.
48 year old woman with a professional career and I feel like sometimes this interferes with my job which I cannot afford it to have happened. I know I surgery down the road but ideally that's the last thing I want to do so my question I'm having for anybody as I have some friends that are in the same position I am that have been able to get put on suboxone so they do not go through withdrawals from the opiates yet I do not want to be flagged if that is what you call it friend not being able to ever get narcotics again if I need them because I am Not sure if I'm going to be able to cope with the pain of my mouth rightous and/or my back issues yet I want to try the suboxone because this is the only way I will know if I can learn to cope with my pain med free yet to do so I know I will be very sick if I just stop taking the pain meds which I can not afford to lose my job and not being able to go to work because I'm going through withdrawals I worked very hard for the position I'm in and I do not want this to be a roadblock!
Question I guess I am asking is how do I go about getting off my pain medication and trying the suboxone to see if it works? Will Being placed on this medicine (suboxone) put me on a blacklist or flagged somehow to never being able to get my pain medication back if that's what's needed down the road? I do not know how my end result with my blowing deaths will it end up as I get older and/or the rheumatoid arthritis for I may need pain meds again at some point yet I really want to take the steps to try now to stop taking them and see how I deal with the pain and maybe find other options. Yet I do know I am going g to be very sick if I just stop due to the amounts I have been on for over 10 years & from what I have seen from some of my other fellow friends they were able to take suboxone and not be sick and continue to hold their job and be successful still without any coworkers families or friends knowing. Some have needed to take pills for only a few months as a couple of my other friends it did not work and they needed to go back on their pain medication but I want to try this because what I'm doing right now is not working anymore I keep running out of medication I'm spending money I don't have.
How do I go about getting on suboxone and not having it blackball me from ever being able to take pain medication again? I do not know enough about suboxone so is that something that will road block me in the future for if I needed to take my pain meds again? How do I start this process I am afraid to say something to my general practitioner doctor who's been giving you the medication because I do not want him to blacklist me or judge me because I don't think I deserve that when I am wanting to try something different to possibly get the opiates out of my life yet need the option to be able to get back on my pain medication if that is what's needed. He did also refer me to a physical medicine & rehab doctor which I am not sure what that is, Do any of you?? IS this a pain clinic?? As well as I will be going to see it the rheumatoid arthritis doctor as well and I do no what that is..
Sorry so long but I an so confused on what to do from here.. I know I want to try to stop all the opiates for I have built up a tolerance for 10 years of taking them and I know I want to get suboxone a chance so I do not get sick because I don't want my family affected nor do I want my job because of this yet I want to know what the consequences are going to be if I am put on suboxone will I ever be able to tbe prescribed pain medication again without being judged? I know alot of questions but I am 48 work a great FT corporate position and I am scared of the consequences if I just stop taking them cold turkey because I know the effects are going to be terrible for me and maybe even dangerous so somebody please tell me if I can get suboxone and how do I go about doing that and what are the consequences about getting on suboxone for if I need to have pain medication later in my life due to my current back issues and the rheumatoid arthritis...
Thank you to whomever is willing to take the time to help me figure this out.. I know I am not the only one that is dealt with the issue that I am dealing with so any of your guyses feedback will be so appreciated positive or negative...
HI I have 9 doses of Suboxone in my cabinet that I intend on starting tomorrow. When I was put on this a few years ago I was started on 8 pills over the course of a few hours 2mg/.5mg then I went to the strips but don't remember when that dose began. I do know that as of the next day I was taking 2 doses a day every 12 hours I think. My strips are 8mg/2mg. What I need to know is tomorrow when I start going into withdrawal what should I take? This is what's leftover from last time I never threw them away.I am also hoping they are still potent as they are expired but most drs will agree that expiration dates are far too conservative that the drugs are still good for a long time after the date. I hope someone responds soon as I am getting anxiety.
Hi Roberto,i can use some help also with the suboxone, from you or anyone else that is knowledgable.I am so tired of this addiction, but can't stop the heroin.I have (19) 8mg orange suboxone's that i bought awhile back.I am so scared of going through the withdrawel again.I been fighting with this demon my whole life and eventually go back to it,knowing the end result, the withdrawels.Such insane thinking. Can i get some help when and how much subs i should take? And is 19 enough to get me through the horror's of withdrawel?I have 1 bundle of H left, and i want it to be my last.I been clean and sober throughout my life and i loved it compared to how i been feeling lately.I am just sick of chasing this stuff and the money it cost is killing me.Good luck to everyone with the subs.Thanks.
I can help I been on soboxone for 3 years and kno good ways to take it message me if u still need help
Yes, thank god you found a doctor that will help you. You will feel so much better being off the drugs...good luck Alexisj and keep us informed of how your doing.
Verwon, thanks for the reply. I appreciate you giving me that information, I now have a better understanding of what Suboxone is really supposed to do. My friend didn't give a very good explanation. When I'm on the suboxone I don't experience withdrawal symptoms, just intense cravings for Norcos. I did call around yesterday to several suboxone doctors in my area an was able to find one who is giving me a good discount on visits! I made an appointment and I'm seeing her this evening. I'm so grateful to have found a doctor I can afford :)
It isn't 'supposed' to give you a buzz, that's just a side effect that some people experience, but it doesn't happen to everyone that takes it.
Additionally, it can help with the withdrawal symptoms and may help with some of the cravings, but it doesn't do away with all of them for everyone that uses it.

It's main purpose is to help stave of withdrawal in order to enable someone to beat their drug addiction.
Methadone is somewhat similar, but it is much more addictive and habit forming, most people that have undergone treatment with it have ended up needing a lifetime maintenance dose of it and never really get drug free, as people do on the Suboxone.

When you take the Suboxone, what types of symptoms do you experience, are they actual withdrawal symptoms, or just the cravings?
