How Long Does Levofloxacin Stay In Your System (Page 3)

I will be taking Levofloxcin 500mg for 10 days. How long will it remain in my system after finishing the medicine?

I'm having this same issue as we speak I took three days of levaquin 500mg my nerves are horrible I'm so jittery still and stopped the medicine 4 days ago! The dr have given me Xanax to take for the anxiety Attacks and it helps tremendously but it's awful when they happen! I feel like I can breath and I'm going to pass out!! I can't function at all! I've missed two days of work this week! I'm going to a different dr today.

This is my third post on this blog. I don't want to scare anybody but this is my experience with this medicine. My first post was almost a year ago. I believe I am still having side effects from leviquin or levofloxin. I have never had anxiety before I started this medicine. I have been so sick and have seen a lot of doctors trying to figure this out. I also was prescribed axnax for my anxiety. Have even been sent to mental health Doctor. I've tried to go back and decide exactly when my problem began. My wife said she believed I was having some problems even before I was prescribed lefloxicin for sinus infection Sept. Of 2014. With a little further research I discovered I had been given the same medicine while I was in the hospital having my gall bladder removed. Some days are better than others but the days I get these horrible anxiety attacks are hard to live with. Believe me I am not a person who had any type of anxiety or depression before this.

I just got done taking the same medication n I have had anxiety attacks n muscle weakness really bad. I wonder as well when it will subside. my last pill was on Thanksgiving day.

I was prescribed 750 mg, 1 per day levofloxacin (levaquin) om 12/23/15 by ER doctor as I was having an asthma problem & felt I was suffocating. I was given 3 in er as well as 3 prednisone for his dx of bronchitis. My bloodwork, chest xray, ekg were normal. After I left ER I began having anxiety/panic attacks, feeling as I was dying, weakness, feeling as tho I was going to pass out. I began having serious depression, couldn't function, jittery, muscle twitching, couldn't cope with anything on tv dealing with death, not wanting to be around anyone and couldnt get comfort in any way, I have shakiness, feel agitated. It is 5 days later, I stopped levofloxacin 2 days ago and still having the horrrrrible side effects of this drug. When will they stop? I think now: why was I prescribed this drug if I had no infection? I'll never take this drug again.

Hi, ive been taking Ofloxacin for 22 days now. I still have 16 days remaining. I feel lightheaded and sick, im constantly tired too and had an anxiety attack but now seem to have that under control. How long will this stay in my system if i see out the course which is 38 days all in? Thanks.

I'm 62 years old and took Levofloxacin 500mg for 5 days the 1st week of Nov. 2015. I took myself off because of very bad pain in my joints and have muscle weakness in my arms. It is now Jan. 12, 2016 and I still have pain off and on in the joints and weakness in the arms......I'd like to know if this will ever leave my system and when? They should take this off the market before someone takes the drug company and Doctors to court to get it off the market. I've also been tired and don't feel like doing the things I use to do. I have light headedness and sometimes jitters. Everything's mild but still annoying. The pain wakes me up at night. I wish I had not taken this stuff.

I took 4 500 mg doses. Feel extremely nauseous. After reading all the very bad situations that have occurred from this medication I am afraid to sleep, I am extremely mad at my Dr for prescribing and also the pharmacist at Walgreen's who said it was just another antibiotic and not to worry. How can a medication that is causing all this damage not be taken off the market?

i took Levaquin for 5 days and started having shaking and tremors in my legs, arms, and head as well as anxiety. I stopped it 3 days ago, but the tremors are still there, especially in my head. It is freaking me out, How long until it stops and can anyone recommend a treatment or detox or something to stop the tremors please?

I've been taking this awful med for 6 days and it's been almost 24hrs since my last dose. My first reaction was swollen eyelids and eyebrows that were red itchy and swollen and nausea. I thought it was from my sinus and middle ear infection but now know it's a yeast infection on my eyebrows/eyelids from the levaquin. Now I'm experiencing a ton of anxiety, racing heart, dizziness and panic attacks. I also have muscle weakness which is scaring me that a tendon will rupture. I'm so upset that I was prescribed this medication. I also just read that it interacts with ibuprofen and I don't understand why the doctor and pharmacist didn't tell me. I've been taking ibuprofen the whole 6 days and now find out it can cause seizures. We need to get a class action for this horrible medication. It's ruining people's lives from what I'm reading!

I am allergic to most antibiotics, except levaquin. However, I get anxiety, racing heart and sleeplessness. I just received i.v. levaquin in the hospital. They gave me benedryl to help with the symptoms. It really helped

I'm a 66 yr. old female, take B/P meds w/ no other major issues. Took Levofloxacin for Sinus infection. Felt bad 1st day, worse the second. Within an hour of taking dose on the 3rd day, I became jittery, anxious, and had a terrible headache. Pulse rate shot up to 115 and B/P dropped to 98/54.

Scared me enough that I will NEVER take it again. Can't believe they offer this medication to ANYONE, much less a 66 yr. old. Just hope now that it did no permanent harm.

It is something to be worried about. It does NOT mean the medicine is working. It can cause your tendons to tear from your muscles!

ABC action news did a story on lefloxicin and Levaquin and the dangers of taking this drug about two years ago. They said that they believe there has been 1200 related deaths. I had a terrible reaction to this about a year ago and believe I am still having side effects even now. This is my fourth post to this blog and can't believe there are so many people that are posting to say they have had same problems. I am really thinking about seeing a lawyer. I tell everyone do not take this drug. The ABC story was out of Tampa Bay if anyone wants to try to look at it.

I had an acute sinus infection and was on vacation. The doctor put me on this levofloxacin. I could not sleep, I was agitated and by day 10 which was my last dose I had shoulder, hand and leg pain and headaches. I too hope there is no permanent damage. Take this drug off the market.

I have been going through the same thing: high blood pressure, panic attacks, muscle aches, heels hurt, arms shoulders, etc. I'm glad I read all of this be cuz now I have answers to why I'm feeling so weak and my body aches.

I am 59 years old. Went in for body aches and pain. They said I had strep throat and I got a shot to. The doctor told me I would be feeling better the next day. They told me I was allergic to amoxillan and gave me levofloxacin. Then I still had those muscle, joint pains as well as headache and took it for 2 days. Returned to the hospital and changed meds. They gave cefdinir. Still had the same pains and I just stopped all meds since March 4 th and as of today I still have those pains. They need to get it off the market for good. Who were the guinea pigs that did not have any pain?

I was put on Levaquin for pneumonia and it is truly awful! I have horrible insomnia and very bad anxiety issues from this medication. I haven't slept properly in days. My fingers are tingling and thoughts are suicidal. Truly a horrible, horrible medication. The side affects from the Levaquin are actually worse than the pneumonia itself. Thank God yesterday was my last dose. Can't wait to get this poison out of my system. Never again will I take such an evil medication!
