Am trying to kick heroin. Took half of an 8mg suboxone after experiencing 18 hrs of withdrawals. That did the trick. It has now been 13 hrs since I took the fist dose. Am now wondering how long do I wait before I take a second dose of suboxone? Will I need to wait until I go through withdrawals again or what? A speedy reply will be greatly appreciated.

how long should i wait before i take another dose i did 4mg 12hrs ago and couldnt sleep all nite now i feel like nausea headace body pain but dont no if its from not sleepin for 26hrs didnt go thru wd yesterday but today is a whole new ballgame

Jesus Christ...I'm going to reply to this knowing your question is a year old but seriously every addict wants it now now now. Always wait until your in full withdrawal mode and when you are take the suboxone or methodone and you'll be good...suboxone doesn't work like Oxys or dope you don't take more and more when you feel like it cause... you won't get high! Stop using get a doctor and take as prescribed...I've been there time and time again...just take the meds the right way if you want to get clean....sniffing them is going to remind you of sniffing Oxys and sniffing them doesn't really do anything...under the tongue is the best way. Alright people be safe

I was on 95 mgs of methadone I was told to wait 72 hrs before taking a suboxone. Well I did and it send me into pw for 4-6 hrs. IT WAS A F***ING NIGHTMARE. Anyways now the precipitated withdrawel is over can I try a sub now?

Yeah totally agree with you,suboxone will sort the physical but the mental part, which is much harder than the physical,is actually the issue we've to deal with,AA NA or CA can b a gr8 help,yeah there'll b sum who will say total abstinence r nothing and others who may judge u but a real clean addict who remembers where they came from, will welcome you and let you know that ur not alone,and maybe when we're ready will also achieve total abstinence,so anyone out there trying to get clean but struggling I am with you,doing the same, in d hope I will make it out of the daily torture I am currently putting myself through,let alone my family. B-) a big thumbs up to anyone in addiction,we are not alone! Went on a bit there,soz.

Taking heroin 20 years,clean for 8 months relapsed 4 months ago, started taking suboxone day and half ago,feel crap,does it take long to feel better,feel like using to help with what suboxone isn't reaching,what do you think,will this just prolong the withdrawals or help til suboxone kicks in?

You can cut the strips... I am being prescribed 2mg a day from a doctor from University of Florida Shands. There prescribe the 8mg strips and I cut them in four, have been for months. NO ISSUES. The prescription is cheaper this way. All the medication is released when it DISSOLVES under the tongue, not when its cut. Also this medication has a long half life. Beginning prescription is usually 2mg twice a day. If after 24-36 hours and you don't fill "normal" you can increase. Take too much and it can make you sick... I did once and was throwing up and nauseous the whole day. GOOD LUCK PEOPLE. Also GOTO an AA or NA meeting too.... most of us abuse medication because we don't feel right or fit in without it. Research has shown that people generally take drugs to either feel good (i.e., sensation seekers or anyone wanting to experiment with feeling high or different) or to feel better (i.e., self-medicators or individuals who take drugs in an attempt to cope with difficult problems or situations, including stress, trauma, and symptoms of mental disorders).

I used the answers to your question to help me yesterday. I've cut strips of a sub and its worked, but my tolerance has gotten higher since the last time I took one so that little piece wasn't enough. I wasn't sure if I could take more so I turned to the Internet. Most of what I read said I could. So I did.it was horrible. I felt worse. So bad that I went up to the hospital. The doctor I saw told me that when once it's been cut it activates the blocker and there's a chance it will block itself. In my case it did. So my advice: DO NOT CUT IT IF YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE MORE!!! I wasn't able to fall asleep for longer than 4 minutes all night until about 8:30 am. Mind you I took this at about 8:00 that night. So this morning I did get a bag. It was a bad idea, but the entire night was unbearable. Any way my point is: if you're going to detox at home DO NOT cut the strip if you're going to take more!

I smoked a gram or more of heroine a day for a little over 5 months I took one 8mg strip and felt no withdrawls and it really does work you just have to have three strips and your good cut the last two and gradually wein yourself off

hello guys im a mess ive been taking over 20 30mg oxycondones a day my last does of the oxy was thursday at about 3pm i then took a 1 8mg sub friday around 4pm and had to take 1mg of xanax to sleep at night and was still tossing and turning how long will this last? did i take the sub at the rite time? am i putting off the affects of withdrawing bc im taking the suboxone and xanax? Any help is more then greatly appreciated.

I started Suboxone today. I was using 6-8 Percocet 10/325's a day for almost 2 years. Took the last Perc at 9pm last night, and started Suboxone at 12pm today. (Waited 15 hours). I felt like absolute crap during the last hours of withdrawal, but about 20-40 mins after taking 6mg of suboxone I felt fine. Doctor has me doing 12mg a day, (4mg 3x daily), and tapering down from there. Hopefully this will keep me clean for good!

Hey Courty,
Suboxone does help but ya gotta remember that they are addicting. The best way to do it is to go to suboxone doctor and get it thru his head that you only want to be on them for 3 months tops. Work out a taper plan with him. Stick to plan. Good luck.

Hi, I just wanted to know how your recovery has been or I guess if it worked? I'm scared to death of starting another medication but I take up to 30 Norcos and 20 Trams a day. I'm going to die or go to jail soon. Did the suboxone really help?

OK so after 10 years of being on Norco and Perks due to a back injury I decided to break away from this horrible grip of pain meds! I took my last 2 oxys at 4pm waited till 5am to take my first 8mg soboxine, I was scared that it would spin my withdraws out of control.....I was fine!! No withdraws at all!! I was taking 8-9 Norco 10-325 and up to 4 perks a day for many years!! Soboxine is amazing.

I have been addicted to oxy 30 2 at a time about 12 a day and I used my last 2 Oxus yesterday morning and at about 5 I started withdrawing at 7 I took 4 gm of suboxen. Do I wait til I'm really bad again with the wd or take one now!! Thanks for any help

Me and my girl have been back on heroin 6 months, took about a third of a 8mg strip bout 20 minutes ago and I'm waiting patiently. Haven't shot since yesrerday so I'm good. Someone mentioned taking 2 8g strips a day, WOW, I think that amount is ery high and taking that regularly will be so hard to come off of. Suboxone habit is hard to kick. I take it for about 5 or 6 days less everyday and I'm great.
