Help Me Find A Doctor To Prescribe Klonopin, Adderall And Chronic Pain Meds (Page 2)

I moved to Minnesota and need to find a Doctor to prescribe Klonopin and Adderal or Dexadrine. I have high anxiety and panic disorder and can barely leave the house. I also have ADHD and can't start or finish anything without becoming stuck. I have chronic pain and was forced to start a Methadone program. I don't want to take it but have no choice because the pain is so bad. I am looked at like a "drug seeker" but I need my medication and don't know what to do.

Klonopin is a wonderful drug as a long as you don't abuse or misuse it, You take them when you're having a real panic attack, not just because you're anxious. I take a klonopin once every/every other week or so, and It helps me soo much when I am stressed beyond belief especially being a college student. I wish I could get a prescription so that I have them when I NEED them, but every doctor thinks I'm a drug seeker. I just get a couple of them a month from my neighbor who also uses them very conservatively. If you are using this as a cure, it will only do damage. This is a drug to help get an overall sense of well-being highly established and for emergencies when everything goes wrong in a day.

To anyone who likes to research their meds before they become a problem, here is the website for benzos like Klonopin, etc. benzouk.org I spelled it wrong earlier and I want you to have access to this information. What you do with it is up to you. But it's your right to have access to it.

Yes I strongly agree. some people need their klonopin. I am in search of a doctor now. because my primary doctor took me off after 5 years. so now what do I do. I have already had one heart attack. I can't stand to go through those withdrawals anymore. I can't take it without my klonopin.

Work on your anxiety. See what might be causing it. Sometimes, there are things that you might not even realize. Get someone to help you. I know this is hard because so many professionals really don't have a CLUE. Another suggestions is to get a family doctor with BALLS. Sorry, but it's true. Tell them exactly what you said in your question. Quite frankly I wouldn't give a damn if they thought I was a drug-seeker. I know how they work. If nothing works, LIE, and don't feel bad about it. Or, simply get your meds online, but use common sense, and read the info about the drugs. Find ways to have fun, even if it means dancing naked in the street.

In your opinion...... I'm here to inform people that THEY should be informed before they just take drugs that are as addictive as Klonopin. These drugs are not benign. They harm many people. Great if they don't harm you. Swell. You got lucky! They have harmed many. People need to be educated. Then they can make up their own minds. So, rather than just say, 'You are wrong, Rita," why don't you encourage them to them look up the information I've provided and then make up their own minds? Provide your own information sites and encourage them to look at those, too. Did YOU look up the information at benzo.org.uk ? I have every right to offer my own true story about what this drug did to me. Others have balanced that by giving their stories. Others should read both and make up their own minds. "You are wrong, Rita," is pointless, says nothing, and proves nothing. I get angry when people try to dissuade others from being informed just because the information given doesn't agree with their own opinion.

I've been on klopopin 3 mgs spread out daily with 90 mgs of Methadone. Now the VA Docs act like I'm doing something wrong while they take me off it. I've been on it for 13 years just like my Methadone.I take Klonopin for Myoclonus seizures and Methadone for a work injury where I was run over by a new Kenworth Truck in the plant.I'had low back fusion 3,4,5, and the Myoclonus hurts my nerves from the weird tick like movements I get.. Am I crazy or the Docs mean and uncaring.

I'm going to be blunt and straight-forward. If you have an anxiety disorder such as panic disorder, stimulant drugs are contraindicated. Amphetamines like Adderall or Dexedrine as well as amphetamine-like drugs will worsen anxiety. If you have ADHD, you should be on a non stimulant med like Strattera. In addition, no doctor in his/her right mind is going to prescribe a Klonopin/amphetamine combo. One's an upper the other is a downer. You might've been able to get Rx's for uppers and downers from shady docs in the 70s and 80s. I highly doubt you would now. It's inappropriate prescribing and you and your doc could end up in legal trouble.

That's not always true. I take ritilan and have to take .5mg klonopin for seizure, although they do counteract. First, go ahead and take the test with a new psychiatrist to see about your ADHD. I'm not sure of course, but it doesn't sound like you have it.
The anxiety cycle is a horrible trap to get into. I feel for you. I am a psychologist and have some ideas that you may not have thought of.
The pain is something that I don't even think doctors know what to do about.. The problem is that you develop a tolerance to the pain meds, and need more and more to help, which could cause conditions that might kill you.

Adderall and Klonopin will cancel each other out. This is why they won't give them both. It makes no sense. I am not saying you are lying, but taking a tranquilizer and an amphetamine together well, they will work against each other

If 0.5mg of Klonopin (clonazepam) orally is sufficient for your "seizure disorder" you don't have a seizure disorder at all. The starting dose for seizure control is 1.5mg per day in 3 divided doses, quickly titrated upwardly to a max of 20 mg per day. One-half a milligram of clonazepam isn't going to be effective as an anticonvulsant unless you're dosing your underweight kitten.

to klon. klonopin is used for petit mal, akinetic, myoxlonua, Lennox Gastaut seizure disorders.

You are right Rita, but you are catagorizing folks, and sometimes their issues are different. There are clearly times when benzos are ok. Maybe someone facing death for example. I am a psychiatrist and there are sometimes things involved that need to be dealt with. Perhaps an abusive father. I agree, benzos are not the answer, but they are often a way "out" when people are at their limit. I personally don't like these websites because they are basically trying to sell you something. I would not, on a professional basis, depend on them. You sound really mad. Sorry

Yo Angie. I've been on 80mgs of methadone for about 2 years now, and i have yet to find a psychiatrist who will put me on any benzos at all. But a lot of other people i know in the same situation do have benzos. So you can definitely get them; might just take a little searching.

A main reason that a lot of doctors won't Rx benzodiazepines with opiates/opioids is that the combination can produce profound respiratory depression and death. Opiates/opioids like methadone and morphine have the potential to slow breathing on their own; benzos taken alone don't really have much of an effect on breathing. But the two mixed together can be fatal.... Aside from that, a side effect of opiates/opioids IS reduction in anxiety. So combining the two really isn't necessary on the whole.

Didn't this whole post just start with someone just asking where to find a doctor in MN??

Then it became a big debate and people telling horror stories about "addiction", withdrawals and blah blah blah....tear tear tear :'-(

Here's the deal! EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT AND REACTS TO DIFFERENTLY TO EVERY AND ANY KIND OF MEDICINE!!!

Long story short....I'm a former professional football player, only 30 years old, I've had 15 major orthopedic surgeries as well as over 12 documented concussions!

I take fentanyl patches 75 mcg every 48 hours and 2 Percocet 10/325 3x/day for my pain! Thanks to my sports management pain doctor! So anyone wanna start to tell me how I'm addicted and going to start abusing smack from a dealer on the corner eventually because pain meds are soooooo addicting and my doctor is going to cut me off??? :'-(

I also take neurontin, tegretol AND klonipin 2mg 3xday for my anxiety attacks I get from my pain as well as to control my seizure disorder from my PCS and frontal lobe damage. The consist benzos with the combination of my anti-seizure medicine has helped become seizure free for over 15 months, thank you to my neurologist and shrink!!! So get a life nurse Rita and stop preaching your benzo website BS!!! Oh sorry I forgot....TEAR :'-(

Here's the truth people!!! Build a relationship with whatever doctor is going to prescribe whatever you need, if they won't prescribe it! Get a second or third opinion from a different doctor!

It's not doctor shopping if the doctors aren't prescribing you narcotics! I had to get several second and third opinions to find the right doctors for me!!

Be honest and build a trust worthy relationship with your doctors! Some docs won't prescribe certain meds and some will! It's all about that trust between you and your doctor!

And of course taking your medicine like your supposed to as prescribed will prolly help as well (Captain Obvious). So stop lying to doctors and pulling BS on them with dirty UA's! They see drug-seekers daily....Just be honest and slowly build a trusting relationship!

All my doctors have told me I will be on all these meds for the rest of my life but can also have a functional career outside of playing on Sundays....

Now I hope that actually helps someone!!!!! Not worst case websites how some meds are so addicting and will ruin your life!

Hi MissCatchingTDsOnSundays; I'm writing in response to you posting that you go to a sports dr\pain Dr.

I live in MN towards Lino Lakes, Blaine, ect..., but am willing to drive further if need be. I currently take 5mg Roxicodone 6x a day, & 4mg Tiazidine {muscle relaxer} 2 pills 4x a day, well my primary dr said that I need to go to a pain clinic cuz the laws are getting tougher here in MN, & he will get in trouble if he continues writing these for me, I've been seeing him a little over 2 years now. So I looked up pain clinic & went to MAPS, they had no respect for me what so ever, & told me if I'm looking to stay on the narcotics then that wasn't the place for me, that they only give pain meds to cancer patients. I couldn't believe the way I was treated, I have been in 5 car accidents, & I thank god everyday I'm still alive, but at MAPS she told me it wasn't long enough ago {happened Jan 31, 2014} for me to experiencing so much pain. The work I do is "very" physical, which is only making things worse on my body. I can not quit, as I have a mortgage to pay monthly, & all the house bills. I have 3 kids that I'd love to give them, any & all things I could, they deserve the best!!!! So basically I can not quit my job, as jobs are "VERY" hard to find these days. My primary dr chronic pain can not be detected, & no one knows exactly how much pain your really in, & pain clinics should know this. I'm willing to do the INJ's, but not be completely stop taking my pain meds. I'm so frustrated, because I don't know where to go to get my meds monthly, & see a dr that actually cares about, & is compassionate with you.

I do go to the Chiro 3x a week, & physical therapy 2x a week. I don't want to waste my time, or theirs by making an apt, & them telling me I need to taper off the narcotics. They don't understand the severity of my pain, & how it makes me feel emotionally as well. I am seeing a psychiatrist & on antidepressants, she said with all this going on is making it worse on my brain, my body....basically everything!!!!! Like I said I went to MAPS & they treated me like a drug addict making things up, which made me furious!!!!! She said if I'm looking to stay on narcotics, then that's not the place for me, & she would recommend that I go somewhere else for a second opinion.

Could you tell me where you are going, & what you do, &/or take? Or if you know any pain clinics that are willing to see me & prescribe? I am in need ASAP, as I know the waiting list is so long!!!!! Ps I can not go to Britton, as I was going there & received a script for vicidin, I didn't take the pills, but they seen I accepted the script & removed me from their program. PLEASE help!!!! Thanks so very much
