I have chronic acid reflux, GERD, etc. I currently have esophagus erosion and my doctor prescribed Nexium 40 mg for 2 weeks. I have 20 mg tablets. My question is should I take the 40 mg (2 tablets) at one time or one in the morning and one in the evening? which way is most effective? ## Generally, unless instructed otherwise, one should be taken in the morning, just before your meal, and one in the evening just before a meal. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and flatulence. However, it never hurts to double check with your doctor to be sure. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I have a pink oval pill. On the front it says AEI and on the back it says 40mg. Can you please tell me what it is? ## Hi Lolly, A pink oblong pill with "A/EI" on one side and "40mg" on the other is reportedly a non-US version of Nexium - possibly Canadian, but I've yet to confirm that. From what I could gather, it appears to be a delayed-release tablet and contains 40mgs of the active ingredient Esomeprazole. Nexium (Esomeprazole) is used to treat symptoms of GERD, acid reflux, peptic ulcers and more... I hope this helps!

Found this on my floor and have no idea what it's for. Don't recognize this as one of my medications. This pill is round and pink, and on one side it has R 750 around the edge & nothing on the other side. ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? Is the marking possibly R 150? (As in the numeral one, not a seven?) Can you please double check and post back? There is one with the marking R 150 that matches this description, which is manufactured by 150mgs of Raniditine, it is an antacid. This one is manufactured by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, flatulence, and stomach pain.

What is the difference between 'Delayed Release' and 'Extended Release'? ## There is no difference, they are just both ways of saying the same thing. They just mean that it's a time release formulation of the medication, rather than a regular release. Is there anything else I can help with? Editor's note: this message has been deemed inaccurate. ## Thank you Verwon, I appreciate your help. ## Actually, there IS a difference and they are NOT interchangeable. The example below talks about Depakote instead of Omeprazole, but the definitions and logic are the same. "The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) defines delayed-release tablets as enteric-coated to delay release of the medication until the tablet has passed through the stomach to prevent the drug from being...

was the color of this capsule change from aqua mylan6150 to ku 118 white/brown ## Mylan 6150 is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. Ku 118 is manufactured by Kremers Urban, and appears to be repackaged or distributed by a variety of other pharmaceutical companies. Even though the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, I don't think the company changed the color; it was simply manufactured by another company (as shown above), and that is why it is another color. Does that make sense? Please post back if you have any other general questions or concerns about this drug. ## Supposedly, omeprazole is now otc. KU 118 mfrd by Kremers Urban is much more effective for me than other omeprazole formulas. Friend obtains it through the VA. Under wha...

I am suffering from severe heart burn and not able to drink or eat anything it seems that hardly the food goes below the food pipe and it pains a lot doctor has suggested cyclopam, colligon o and mucaine tablet. I am having history of asthama can these medicines have a side effect on asthma ## Hi Amin, Sorry to hear about your challenges with heart burn. From what I've read, none of those medications list contraindications for patients with asthma. So in my opinion, it doesn't seem like there should be any problems outside of the typical side effects that are possible with each medication. Was your doctor already aware of your asthma condition prior to writing those scripts? If so, I don't think he/she would even prescribe something that could cause a reaction. But it's ...
