I have chronic acid reflux, GERD, etc. I currently have esophagus erosion and my doctor prescribed Nexium 40 mg for 2 weeks. I have 20 mg tablets. My question is should I take the 40 mg (2 tablets) at one time or one in the morning and one in the evening? which way is most effective?

Generally, unless instructed otherwise, one should be taken in the morning, just before your meal, and one in the evening just before a meal.
The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and flatulence.
However, it never hurts to double check with your doctor to be sure.
How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
