One important thing no one talks about is how nexium works on the sluggish bowel. Without the nexium and especially if you are taking other constipating medications, nexium helps to keep the bowel moving. I have evidence, as I have not had nexium for 2 months or more and I am in the most terrible pain. My prescription drug company will not approve my nexium and insists that omeprazole is the preferred choice. Who are they? Have they ever used the medicine? ## I'm very sorry about the problems that Ann had. And to add some information for anyone else seeking…. Nexium contains Esomeprazole, so it and the Omeprazole are both proton pump inhibitors and will work in the body in the same manner. You can learn more Nexium details here and you can learn more Omeprazole det...

What is a pink oblong pill with 172 or G172 imprinted on one side? ## It's an over the counter Pepto bismal pill. ## Just to confirm, I've also identified pill imprint G172 as Pepto Bismol; which contains (262 mg) of Bismuth subsalicylate. "Pepto-Bismol is an over-the-counter drug currently produced by the Procter and Gamble company in the United States of America, Canada and in United Kingdom, to treat minor digestive system upset. Its active ingredient is bismuth subsalicylate. The primary symptoms aided by Pepto-Bismol are nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea, and other temporary discomforts of the stomach and GI tract." I hope this helps!

I recently found a couple very small pink pills with a P on one side and nothing on the other. They are round in shape. ## Hi Alicia, I have identified your pill as Pepcid complete; which contains (800 mg) of calcium carbonate/ (10 mg) of famotidine/ and (165 mg) of magnesium hydroxide. Pepcid Complete is an OTC medication that belongs to the drug class H2 antagonists and is used in the treatment of GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease). It works by blocking some of the signals that tell your stomach to produce acid. Manufacturer: Johnson and Johnson/Merck Consumer National Drug Code (NDC): 16837-0291 You can learn more about this drug on the page for Pepcid Complete Details I hope this helps!

I've been on nexium fro 2 years. I wanted to know if Sensa would interact with this presciption? ## Hi ShayShay, Seeing as Sensa isn't a medication, it shouldn't have any reactions with Nexium. I did some research and I can't find any information stating that it's unsafe to take them together. I hope this helps ## Thanks Jenna, I was just making sure! Sometimes you may never know!

purple capsule side 1:082 side 2:IMPAX 20 ## Does omeprazole kill nartural bacteria in stomach and cause more problems? ## Has anyone experienced angina chest pain after taking 20mg Omeprazole? ## No, Omeprazole is not an antibiotic, so it doesn't kill any bacteria. It's a proton pump inhibitor, so it prevents your stomach from producing excess amounts of stomach acid. You can learn more Omeprazole details here. As to the angina, no this medication hasn't been known to cause that….however…. If you suffer from excess acidity, that can cause chest pain that many people mistake for angina. Such pain is often a symptom of GERD and esophageal spasms. This medication can also cause gas, which could also cause chest pain. Have you been diagnosed ...

Is this the same as omeprazole? ## No, they are not related and do not treat the same conditions, at all. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, it is used to help reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to help prevent or treat conditions such as heartburn, GERD, ulcers and gastritis. Learn more Omeprazole details here. However, Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that's used to help treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Learn more Amlodipine details here. How many tablets of Omepron are recommended per day and what is the best time of day for taking this medicine? Also, should it be taken before or after meals? ## This appears to be an overseas equivalent of Prilosec OTC - one tablet, once a day, anytime - at the same time every day.

I took a generic drug store drug (omper) instead of Prilosec. When I eat food the first taste is fine but then when the food hits the back of my mouth it tastes awful. Has anyon had any side effects from the generic drug for Prilosec? ## I can't really tell you anything about it, without knowing who the manufacturer is, but it could be that there was a different filler/inactive ingredient that caused the problem. Only the active ingredient has to be the same, not the items that are considered inactive. Do you still have the packaging? ## you are suppose to take it on an empty stomach and wait 30 mins before you eat.

I started with KREME omeprazole. Worked like a charm. Now me prescription was filled with SANDOZ omeprazole. I seems to be totally inactive and the chemical looks yellow instead of white. My reflux returned. Could it have degraded in hot storage?? ## Often times I find that the storage conditions have a pretty significant impact on the overall lifespan of a pill. So it sounds like that could very well be a possibility. I also wanted to mention that when you switch brand names or manufacturers the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. Certain "inactive" ingredients which may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. So it is possible that you may respond fa...

Want to do a pill but need to know what will override it ## Need to know what will over ride the vivatrol shot ## Please correct me if my assumption is wrong, but just to be clear on what you're getting at, are you actually intending to overdose on your medication and then looking for a way to counteract (over-ride) its effects? While I don't recommend going that route, I would suggest looking into "activated charcoal" for the purpose of eliminating toxins and drugs from the body. There are large bodies of research explaining how activated charcoal absorbs these excess toxins and in affect removes them from your system. Definitely something to consider adding into the mix, especially if you're planning to take a detox drug like Vivitrol. I hope this helps in any way!

I have been prescribed mabex for esophagus irritation. Please tell the side effects for this liquid. Thank you. ## yes ## Unfortunately, when it comes to products like this, it's difficult to provide anyone with precise information. It is a mixture of ingredients that are used to treat various types of oral sores and irritations, but the actual ingredients used can vary from area to area. This one starts with Maalox, then something numbing is usually added, such as Xylocaine or one of its relatives, sometimes an antibiotic is included, so there's really no way to say what each individual has received, since it depends on their location and what the doctors there prefer to use. Learn more Maalox details here. Are there any other questions or comments?

from past 1&half years m having stomach ache. motion problem icant stool. main problem is when iI pee 'im getting a clear fluid like a gel' i'dunno y it is cuming. pls help me guys. :( ## Are you currently taking any medications, supplements, or possibly eating certain foods that might be attributing to these symptoms? Indigestion is often related to a lack of enzymes in the intestines and stomach that help break down food. This can be caused by not consuming enough fresh fruits and vegetables on a regular basis. But also if your body is dehydrated. In either case, it may also be good idea to try using a laxative for additional relief. If that fails I would simply suggest making an appointment with a Gastroenterologist, who's primary focus is on the digestive system ...
