I have been taking Harvoni for 3 months now and am having nerve pain in my legs and lower back pain. Is anyone else taking Harvoni having any of these same side effects as me? Please help if you are able. Thank you

Just to confirm your problems, I am also around 22 months post Harvoni and was low B-12 and got injections once a week for 5 weeks plus low iron/ferritin and taking supplements, and that is only 2 of the over a dozen side effects Harvoni caused that didn't go away after completing treatment.

Chez Bonnie same deal as you. Two years post treatment and low B12 and problems with hands and feet since two weeks into treatment. Not able to tolerate B12. Too stimulating to me. At least the sublinquals are. Haven't done injections yet due to such a bad reaction to the other forms of B12.

Vanessa, youve just described me to a tee.. I am having the same sinus issues, it took 71 days for anyone to get me on the right antibiotics and because it was such long time before it was stabilized I developed a lesion on the brain. My eyes hurt bad, blurry, seeing spots, I am so wiped out its pathetic as you say... I know this was all because of Harvoni, it was the only med I took, I also have about 25 - 30 side effects that no one has been able to tell me what it is, how to correct and I feel like I am dying a slow death... So you are not alone at all... I wish you a healthy, healthier outcome..

Thanks for the response. I had a battery of tests today and I will post the outcome (for what it is worth). I read on another forum that people are starting to develop diseases that have been reawakened by Harvoni (they suspect by the impact of changes to the immune system) such as Lyme disease and I think in my case Glandular Fever.
It sure would have been nice to know this before signing up.

I took harvoni for 8 weeks never had any side effects! This was 6 months ago now I am clear of hep C.

I went through it, before and during.Sometimes I get that now but I am getting pretty old and I've attributed these pains as typical of aging? Could I be wrong? If the Harvoni did this I would sure as hell deserve comensation if this caused the gastroparesis. Now I rarely leave the bed, except for the bathroom or kitchen. My quality of life SUCKS.

I started on harvoni to treat my hep-c 1a, a month ago. My afp is 6.6 but my a/g ratio is down to 1.0. Alt51 / Ast52 uml. Why the low a/g ratio?

No but I'm having pain in my left arm only. Has anyone else have had this problem,? and my potassium level is high. Had to change my diet ! Scared I'm gonna have a heartattack !

The CDC is involved with pharmaceuticals. As a matter of fact, the CDC has issued new guidelines about the prescribing of opioid pain medication to people with non cancer related pain management. A reduction of 10% in the amount opioid pain medication per month. The CDC is involved with pharmaceuticals because of diseases like HIV, HCV, and others because these drugs being developed are use to treat these diseases, but something occurs to me. A huge effort to try to eradicate a disease that takes decades, sometimes 5 decades or more before it starts to take a toll? What's up here? I mean, cancer takes lives faster than hiv, or hep-c. Who decided that this crisis was so serious that it was necessary to cut the evaluation time in half? I mean wouldn't it be more prudent to find a cure for cancer that takes lives so very quickly, than hep c that takes 5 decades, even more in some cases, before it might kill you. Of course, lifestyle would be a factor in how quickly your liver might be damaged. Stay healthy and hopeful. The only way at this time, to really know what this drug might do to you is to take it, and I so really hate to say that. How desperate a person might be for a cure too. In my case, I don't know yet if no was the right answer. I'll probably know in time, and all I can do is hope the almost 8 weeks I took this medication was enough. I don't drink, and I don't do anything to harm my liver, so we'll see.

I also had the joint pain, muscle and nerve pain and weakness toward end and after treatment. I could barely walk or stand up due to pain and weakness. My treatment ended Dec 2016. Since Dec 2016 I have had physical therapy twice a week, went on an anti inflammatory diet and feel almost normal. It has taken over a year. I have periods of severe joint pain from arthritis and inflammation. The Harvoni caused the inflammation. Without my physical therapy, chiropractic and massage along with an anti inflammatory diet I believe I’d be totally disabled. My internist isnt convinced but my other doctors are- that Harvoni is highly inflammatory to our bodies. Although I am free of Hep C and my liver and other health is very good for my age. I took it upon myself to try alternative approaches to healing from the Harvoni treatment and it seems to be working.

Thank you all for sharing, I read these comments and get so angry.

I called my 3 week treatment swallowing EVIL! I didn’t clear the virus the med made me a walking black box warning. My life and health has deteriorated. I was ready for stroke as my B/P was 188/110 and my mind was reaching non stop. Suicidal thoughts it was awful. I was told it would be like candy. I will repeat when a drug this strong crosses the blood brain barrier you never know what will happen.

I have active RA, neuropathy, on pain meds and in chronic pain. Inflammation all over. Memory problems from lack of blood flow through a side of my brain, thyroid problems on med. never felt one good day since. I never cleared the virus. A mess it’s all about money just follow the money. Cash cow for big pharmaceutical company we were used.

dear Charity............ Thank you for your input in which I truly respect. I waited this long to respond because I wanted to wait until I heard from staff on my decision (it only took 3 business days to hear back) amazing.......... But anyway I told them I am not ready to take any kind of issues associated with this medicine until I feel 90% healed from my operation, I cant handle more setbacks @ this time.

Tony........I just finished my 12 weeks yesterday but, for the last 4 or 5 weeks my legs have been aching really bad, especially when I walk. I have had no problems with my legs ever, so it will be interesting to see if the aching goes away now that I'm finished with the Harvoni.
