Generic Subutex/buprenorphine. Ranking From Best To Worst. (Page 5)

This is for people who actually take Subutex for the intended purpose for which it is used. So if you actually take the medication sublingually, this thread will help you. I have been taking buprenorphine for three and a half years now. This is what I have found: (8mg) Best: Actavis 153/half moon (orange) Middle: Roxanne 54/411 (white) Worst: Hi-Tech 8/arrow Again, this is for people who take medication as prescribed. You can actually break the medication in half and put it and the front of your lip like dip & chewing tobacco. It will take longer for it to dissolve like this but you will get much much more of the bupe.
Re: kaiami (# 127)
Westward, now hikma 54 411 have 8.64 buprenorphine equivalent to 8mg...same with Rhodes 8.64mg of buprenorphine equivalent to 8mg. Now the orange half moon is only 8mg...
Re: kaiami (# 127)
The orange half moon subutex is made by actavis...In my area Walgreens has them. And I will do anything I can to avoid these ones. I will only accept westwards now hikma 54s or my number one is Rhodes. Now there is a site to Google called 'btodrems' and they list the generics. I'm going to check something now and I will get back to you about something.
Re: Brigid Coyne (# 131)
Thanks for your post. I lost or surrendered my R.N. license as well. This was in 2001 before subs. I was quickly duel-diagnosed to bi-polar so I became another statistic. Getting a check has crippled me. Back then I was blind to the repercussions. Anyway, take care. God bless. Oh, btw, I've been on subutex since 2005. My addictionologist said I would have to take it all my life. I'm ok with that. It works!!!
Hey- I really appreciate you starting this thread because I’m having a lot of trouble with Actavis. I switched to Subutex in an effort to make my second attempt at tapering a bit easier- that requires a long explanation so I’ll just get to my question. When you absorb buccally, do you actually put the pill right up front like a dip or on the side of your mouth between cheek and upper or lower set of teeth? I just tried your method(or what I think is your method) and I’m pretty sure it worked. I wonder if whatever is in Actavis is more effective when absorbed buccally rather than sublingually. I’ve had problems with Actavis for-ev-er. Every time I’ve gotten it over the past 7 years- both Suboxone and now Subutex. If you could reply with as much specificity as possible in regards to your method and exactly where you place the tablet between cheek and gum, I would really appreciate it and thanks again for starting this forum.
Re: Staci Burnett (# 21)
Ooooooh no- withdrawals from Suboxone are only second to high doses(like above 80 mg a day) of Methadone- aka the worst drug known to man when it comes to tapering and w/d. I’d say the biggest mistake of my life- worse than losing my ability to work as a nurse- was staying on Suboxone as long as I did. If you’re concerned about getting off, I’d do it ASAP but very slowly.
Re: BigDaddy8484 (# 8)
I'm not sure who sells the 54 411. I get mine from the clinic. I only get take homes weekly, which sucks, but gotta question... I as well take Subutex 54 411 and like I said I get weekly take homes. I've been clean for over 3 years, but the clinic I go to will crush the subs on the first day of getting take homes and we have to dose in front of them which is no problem to me... But makes us hold it in our mouth under the tongue and gives us a tiny bit of mouthwash to help dissolve it. They say to hold it for 5 minutes so that's what I do but I've heard crushing them takes away the effectiveness of the pill or any subs of any kind. Not sure what you think about this, just curious if you can post this on here or forward this please, as it would be very helpful for me. Thanks for all your posts. Been reading some great advice!
Re: BigDaddy8484 (# 3)
What pharmacies carry the actavis Subutex?
Re: bupeODorol (# 1)
I hold the saliva ten minutes after the pill is gone. Works even better I think.
I’ve never seen orange subutex. I take the white 54 411 which used to be Roxanne & have tried the small ones with arrows that used to be Hi Tech. The 54 411 work great for me. The arrows (not sure the brand now, used to be Hi Tech) literally felt like placebo pills. My doctor used to write “No Hi Tech” on my scripts. I’m interested in the orange ones you mentioned. I go to a small pharmacy and have been to just about every pharmacy around and have never seen orange except for in Suboxone.
Re: bupeODorol (# 1)
Why bother imo its not a good feeling ,causes depression raises blood pressure anxiety plus nightmare trying to get off it, its not the wonder cure plus if you have the misfortune of being in pain no pain killers will work.
Re: Jessica (# 7)
Try a mom and pop shop. They usually carry top quality generics. 54 11 is west ward pharm which is formally Roxanne. West ward bought them out and are up to par with top quality companies like Watson. Stay away from cvs, Walgreens, and rite aid. Small family owned pharmacies carry the best
Yes is it true that Roxane and westward pharmaceuticals both are the same in making the 54-411 subutex tabs? Cause I noticed that it says on my med bottle now it doesn't say Roxanne anymore but does say westward but still has the 54-411 tabs inside the bottle. Can anyone explain?
Re: Amanda (# 53)
Can you explain what kind of reactions you had to the sun brand?
Hello all. I'm curious about these Suboxone pills in my area there's not many places to get the pills , here we get the sublingual strips brand name Suboxone. How does the effects differ between the two, the strip and the pill. Is one better than the other? Anybody have experience with both? I would greatly appreciate so information on this
Re: regpharm22 (# 14)
The Roxanne was bought out by west ward and they have since put the 54-411's back on the market. THey are appearing at Walmarts and other chain pharmacys around the country nagain. so, no. They are not gone forever.
Hello! I have been taking subutex for about 2.5 years now (3 x 8mg per day). I started off with suboxone and no insurance which was very expensive (since they won't prescribe subutex to just anyone). I had an allergic reaction to the naloxone, which is apparently more likely if you have hep c.
After that we tried zubsolv (very expensive) as I have no insurance, and after many tries they finally gave me subutex. I have tried many generic forms, from the small round 460's which burn, the sun pharma, the Mylans (which were the best for me at that time), and now for the past year, the 54/11's. I had to pharmacy shop to find the best generic and the best deals since I pay out of pocket.
I'd use discount codes then suddenly my pharmacy closed. I was struggling to afford my prescription of 90 per month until I found the app BLINK. I legit thought it was fake since I had to pay first and pick up later with the coupon and tell the pharmacy it was my primary pay. I got a $5 off for signing up and then recommended someone and got $15 off. The $15 off didn't go through so I called customer service and they were kind enough to give me $20 off. If you find a pharmacy on blink that has the "smart deal" at select pharmacies then you save about 50% even more.
So each month I don't pay over $115 for my entire 54/411 prescription. I don't gain anything from telling this but if you don't have insurance like me it's totally worth looking into to see if it saves you any money. After years of using every discount possible this is what helped me the most.
Re: regpharm22 (# 14)
They are available still i just got some yesterday. 54 411 white pill
Re: Charlene (# 66)
I am in a very similar situation. Honestly i'm glad to hear I'm not the only one! I feel as if I'm going crazy, but after years of being on the same dose/medication it no longer does what it used to.
Re: Jessica (# 7)
I get these and yes they do burn!!!! But it eventually stops... they work pretty well I'm not sure where you live but some pharmacies you can request a certain brand and they will order it for you!! Good luck!!
Re: Davidjw1 (# 112)
I like the way you said that. To the guy asking humm what to choose actavis or Rhodes..you said the same as I did but I like yours better you said actavis is not even in the same ballpark..lol..its true but also funny. Kinda like comparing apples to oranges. There is no comparison at least with me I hate everything about actavis the taste, the way it melts I just do not have one good thing to say other than if it happens to be the only bup lelf I'd have to take it..it was just fun humor
