Generic Norco M367 10/325 (Page 25)

Updated

It's no good. I have to take three at a time for 1 hour of pain relief. Anybody else have this problem with M367 - 10/325? Has anyone else noticed that meds from certain manufacturers do not work as well for them?

I am 75 years of age, going through pains on most parts of my body, like most elderly.I listened to Dr. Dean Edell for 25 years & I respect & accept all his medical info. Based on his ample medical knowledge, he stated dozens of times that you are not a narcotic addict if you take up to about 4 opium pills a day. I take 1 10/325 in the morning to somewhat minimize the pain & 1/2 or 1 pill late in the afternoon. That is sufficient to allow me to work all day & do all my other activities; some pain but tolerable. if you take more than 5, you will eventually need more & more.

Re: RANDY (# 481) Expand Referenced Message

I am happy that this routine works for you, Randy, and that you can lead a productive and satisfying life. I have had fibro, osteoarthritis, and degenerative bone/disc disease for 25 years or so. I have also had 28 surgeries, many of which were in the past 12 years due to bone, joint, and tendon-related issues. Each person has their own requirement for pain control, depending on how bad the pain is. For you to say you do just fine with a minimal amount of pain meds is for your situation only. Just because someone takes more than you do does not mean they are drug addicts or, as some believe, looking for other drugs. Each person has their own requirement to live life out of bed and in a somewhat "normal" fashion, although pain is always there to one degree or another. Just my 2-cents worth.

RANDY VILLAPANDO (# 481) --

Hi Randy, I think you are right about taking to many opiates. For a while (at least for my condition) I thought more was better. But I did find out that the opiates where giving me more pain than they were helping.. So I backed down from them and took a good muscle relaxer with it and that worked a lot better for me at least. No matter how many you take does not make you an addict if you are trying to deal with the pain. But the script should be followed. I would propose that if they do not work for you, than try something different or something that will work with what he could give you. It is no cure for me because the pain is still there but takes a lot of the edge off of it. May help me but others I cannot say.

Re: Toni (# 480) Expand Referenced Message

I agree my pain gets sooooooo bad that if I took 3 Vicodin ( 10-325 ) it won’t relieve my pain and there are days I can take one and it works! The brand I take is Norco do you find a different brand works betr? I have herniated disc, bulging disc’s, spinal stenosis, bone spurs and severe pain most of the time i’ve had C6 C7 fusion and I had my left hip replaced on 2years ago In my right hip replaced in August 2017 had such a bad infection when I had my left hip down that I had to go back in 25-40 min surgery to clean out my left hip turn didn’t literally lasted three hours I was on IV pick line for six weeks of antibiotic and now three months off and antibiotic twice a day and believe it or not that’s the short version of my story but is there anyone who knows of a pill that will help? I’m allowed by the pain specialist that I have to see every 28 days to get a new prescription in person five of the 10–325 a day they say anymore than that they can’t give me but the kicker about that says they want to put me on Fentenol and I said absolutely positively no way no how I have a five-year-old granddaughter to take care of and I need to have my wits about me can anybody please help me any other painkiller gives me terrible side effects besides the Vicodin thx

Is the 358 how was it different from the 10 325 of the Norco I take? May sound like a stupid question but I’m not up on drugs as far as if it’s a higher dose or a different pill thank you so much and advance for answering me

I live with chronic pain, even after multiple spinal surgeries. I have been getting Actavis Norco generics from Walgreens for a while and they just switched to Amneal Norco. I thought I aggravated my back because since I got switched on the different company pills my pain has increased 2 fold. I contacted pharmacist and she said they get what they get and don’t have any control over it. So now I have to wait until next month to see if my doc will switch me to a diff medication since I’m at the max on the hydro he can’t add any more pills. It really sucks that pharmacies can just switch a patient without any notice or warning.

Re: Inpain (# 489) Expand Referenced Message

I understand exactly how you feel as Walgreens did the same thing to me… And yes I had the same reaction. It doesn’t seem to help. What it is is the big box stores go with the better price. When you have a manufacturer who is going to give them the best “cheapest” it’s best for them not for us. I would try another pharmacy. See if your doctor will switch your pharmacy... You can also call different pharmacies to see which manufacturer they carry before you get in touch with your doctor. I hope this helps. I’m not sure what your doctor is telling you your limit is but I can’t say my limit on the Norco is 10 mg, one pill every three hours, up to six pills a day.

Re: Inpain (# 489) Expand Referenced Message

Have your doctor print directly on the prescription, "Qualitest brand only, no substitutes." That way, if the pharmacy doesn't have that brand, they will either order it for you or advise you who may carry it. I use Express Scripps pharmacy and have always gotten what the doctor requested. Best of luck to you. I know how you feel. My doctor had to retire and now that opioids have become such a national issue, I now have to go to a different doctor or a pain specialist as a lot of doctors are optiing not to prescribe opiates. This sucks!

Just got my new prescription and it is M367. Had to change pharmacy because of insurance and I am noticing my medication is not giving me the relief as my prior medication. I guess every pharmacy does not carry same medication. Now, after research I know I am not imagining my medication is not giving me relief.

Re: Flapper (# 492) Expand Referenced Message

I just got my generic Norco last week for Hydrocodone 10/325 and the brand is Mallinckrodt, this is the worst junk I think I've ever had in the 2 years since I've had to take pain medication for a huge list of serious back issues. I've had some months were they worked good, the next month all they did was put me to sleep and I don't usually check the mfr. but I did this time because they are absolutely NOT working at all. I've even taken up to 3 and nothing, won't touch my pain and I can tell it's just like I've taken an aspirin or something - just nothing. I will make sure NEVER to get this brand again. It's like there is absolutely NO pain medication in this crap!

Re: Jasmine (# 465) Expand Referenced Message

So sorry about your sister. I feel the same way about alcohol, WHY are they not going after alcohol users, we ALL know that alcohol causes more deaths than any drug and DUI drivers kill innocent people on the road. Limit the alcohol one can buy, keep a computer tally on who's buying what because this is what they're doing to pain patients. It won't ever happen because the lawmakers/government are all drunks! Every time I go to my doctor I get my qty. decreased, wtf is going on? I got my RX filled last week for generic Norco 10/325 and this is the worst dud junk I've ever taken, it's by the mfr: Mallinckrodt. Whatever you do if you get this medication make sure it's NOT by this mfr, it is absolute junk, they're duds. There's nothing in them but fillers.

I have been taking this Norco for many years. I have never taken over TWO at once. You are taking way to much in one dose. Scale back slowly and it will be more effective. Yes, the yellow ones seem to be more effective. Shop different drug stores for the manufacturer that better suits your pain.

Re: Tiny Dancer (# 493) Expand Referenced Message

I have said a number of times on this site that that brand is no good. Have your doctor put Qualitest brand only on your script and make sure the pharmacy will order it for you if they do not carry it. It is a huge ripoff to the patients and bigger dollars for the pharmacies. Be proactive, and you will get what you need. Best of luck to you.

Re: Sharon (# 487) Expand Referenced Message

Sharon - What is the manufacturer name of your Norco? I take Norco as well but they always give me a generic and this time my 10/325 white tablets were by a mfr. Mallinckrodt and they will not touch my pain. I have never had such dud medicine like this before. I've taken up to 3 to see if that helps, still nothing! I know that the different manufacturers make different strengths or use different fillers and some months they work great, then there will be a month where they just knock me right out and I fall asleep, but this one is the worst ever, it's like taking nothing. I don't normally check manufacturers but I did this time to see what is up and I googled it and sure enough everyone say's they're worthless. Next month I will make sure to ask and I will never, ever accept this junk again. How can they get away with this? There is absolutely some kind of fraud going on with this brand, this stuff is off the black market or something. Who knows what's really in it. If quality control checks this stuff, I mean outside of the plant, the FDA I guess, they only check like 1% of a huge lot they are probably presenting the right dosed ones for that 1% whereas the balance is complete bootleg.

Re: Tiny Dancer (# 493) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks for the information. Checked my script and the manufacturer is Mallinckrodt. I am going to switch to my former pharmacy even if I have to pay more, at least I will get relief.
