Generic Norco M367 10/325 (Page 26)

Updated

It's no good. I have to take three at a time for 1 hour of pain relief. Anybody else have this problem with M367 - 10/325? Has anyone else noticed that meds from certain manufacturers do not work as well for them?

I have found medication manufactured by Watson Pharmaceutical works better. No way can I take 3 at one time.

Re: Flapper (# 498) Expand Referenced Message

Mallinckrodt is the worst generic out there. Please let your pharmacist know so they can see that you have an adverse reaction to it... being that it doesn't work. It gives me an upset stomach so I cannot take it. That should show up on the screen each time they fill a script. Ask for Qualitest generic. It is a very high grade and works great for me.

Yes, I take Norco but it says MFG actavis- generic for Norco 10-325. I can take 2 every 2 hours and i'd run out of the script. It's not right that those of us in pain have to suffer because of people who abuse and sell it.

Also, all medications work differently it all has to do with fillers and our body chemistry but I agree with you on the Norco u take!

I can contribute with my academics & my empiric knowledge acquired over the span of 16 years of taking these kind of narcotics for chronic as well as post-op severe pain. Dr. Dean Edell (the most knowledgeable Dr. that I have known of) who had a radio talk show for over 30 years with the ABC network & quite often replied to questions on opioids. I did & do concur with his opinion, that if you take 3 or even 4 10 MGL for any kind of pain, you are within the normal range of usage of these medications. If one takes more than 5 or 6 of this type of medications & you are 30 days or more out of a surgery; you have crossed the line between DEPENDENCE & addiction. I am 75 years of age & I depend on these type of medications, as a pain attenuation, but never take more than 3 in a 24 hour period. Most of us, the elderly, do have a dependence on some kind of medication; not an addiction. Any Congressman or politician in general that believes the lies about THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC, should go back to a university & take a refresher course on political science. The epidemic is alcohol. Anyone under 60? years of age should need to prove a genuine need for these type of narcotics. Laws should be stern; so that no young kids can get their hands on these medications, to mix them with any other substance, to get a "real high" that will end up killing them. No narcotics for the young ones!

It’s not in your mind the binders and fillers play a role even if they are using active ingredients the light yellows are the best norcos for pain and long duration

I think there is a huge difference in the quality of the meds you are discussing.

It appears others agree with you also.

The question is, as we continue to suffer with our pains, What, if anything, are we going to do about?

Yes I’ve found on some of my medicines do not work as well by other manufacturers, and also I find that some genetics do not work as well either!, they tell you there the same thing!, but there not and don’t work as well

Yes, absolutely the same problem! The WORST is Malinkroft (not sure on spelling) and I even told my pharmacist this stuff was nothing but junk and yes I have even had to take 3 at a time and still won't touch the pain and you get soooo sleepy too. I believe this crap is off the black market. I told my pharmacist I did NOT want that mfr. again, I was told well that's what the warehouse has and they get whatever is the best deal or something to that matter. I told them then I only wanted the real Norco, NO generic, my doctor wrote that too and she said well they'd have to order it and it'd be like 3 weeks, so I couldn't wait 3 weeks, but may as well have since this crap doesn't do anything but make you sick and sleepy. If you can go to another pharmacist that doesn't have that mfr. I would avoid it at all costs. Oh, they also told me I could transfer my Rx to another drug store but I didn't want to mess with it. Good luck, just try to avoid Malincroft. The yellow ones, I've found to be the best but I heard they weren't going to be making those anymore bc addicts and dealers call them "yellows" makes no G.D. sense at all as now they'll just call them "whites." The government has NO G.D. business in people's medications.

Re: RANDY (# 506) Expand Referenced Message

OMG, Randy I could not agree with you more!! I've been saying the SAME thing, the REAL epidemic in this country is ALCOHOL! And it kills more, breaks up more families, causes diseases, I could go on and on. All these people on TV couldn't even speak in interviews, etc. w/o their liquid courage. Nothing will be done about it because all the lobbyists, congressmen, senators, etc.. ALL of them are more than likely alcoholics or rely on it in some way. It just makes me SO irate with what they have caused with this opiate epidemic, people with serious pain issues are now suffering because their doctors are scared to death to prescribe to them what they need just to get out of pain. Older people like myself, I'm late 50's and I have so many things wrong with my back, I have a vert. slipped towards my spinal cord, I have fractures in my back, I have stenosis, arthritis and scoliosis. Years ago I had a doctor that prescribed Oxicodone 30 mg. and he suddenly stopped, telling me he was no longer taking medicaid! I even offered cash and he said no that was against the law. I had to stop cold turkey and it took me 6 mos. to find another doctor because they thought I was a junkie because of what this doctor was giving me!! I only get the Hydrocodone 10/325's now which hardly even touch the pain. They have lowered my qty. now 2 times. I have heard of other people getting cut off or having their qty.'s lowered, this is ALL due to the G.D. government and the CDC. I say it's about damn time they do the same thing for ALCOHOL users. TRACK their purchases, put limits on what they can buy, etc...How many people are killed each year by DWI drivers alone?? I think it's so biased in every way. We have to suffer because people were obtaining opiates by lying to doctors, but I don't know what kind of dr would prescribe to a young person w/o having MRI's, etc. to prove what was wrong. This is just a huge mess and so many people are suffering terribly because of these young junkies. SMH, I don't know what people can do about it either. It's just a sad situation, really.

Flood the offices with phone calls and letters letting the abc agencies know how we/you feel. Make your voice heard! We have to complain, put it in writing, let them hear from us! We HAVE to make sure we are heard. It may seem a waste of time to some, but isn't one email a day better than none? Email, phone calls, paper letters, start with your local agencies and work your way up. We have to unify and speak out. Start with your local senator (that's what he/she are here for-you) and work your way up. I know it's lonely, frustrating, tiring, unappreciated work to write, but what do we have to lose? (Besides our minds, and for some of us our lives.)
