A medic prescribed it for gastrointestinal issues but my whole body started trembling upon finishing my dose and apparently it has refused to go away. My Doctor has told me to preserve. I have been swollowing 3 drops 3 times per day of Tincture of Opium for the past 8 months. 1 week ago I put the 3 drops into a geletin capsule and swollowed it, eliminating the contact with the tongue etc.I have been taking the opium that way ever since. I drink a half glass of water with the capsule and then while it desolves in the stomach (about 20 minutes) I sip a little water during that time. My reasoning for the extra water is because when it desolves it is in a more concentrated form and might harm something. Each day since I started this I have noticed an improvement in the taste of food, not that tinny overpowering taste.WOW!! No more horrible taste when taking the medicine. Does anyone see anything wrong with this idea? The dropper puts the drops into the capsule so easy. ## T...

Took dexilant for nearly 3 months. The first month I thought there was improvement from this sudden onset of heart burn I was experiencing. I've taken ranitidine & omeprazole for years for reflux but this heartburn was totally new. I was just recently scoped...all good. During the 2nd month, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, more heartburn & reflux, & it felt like I had swallowed razor blades. During the 3rd month I decided to stop it & go back on omeprazole & apple cider vinegar & aloe Vera juice. I feel 1,000% better. Beware, I kept thinking this is supposed to lessen my symptoms, how could it be making me so sick? ## Hello, Karen! How are you? I need to know about the availability of Paregoric. It is the only help for IBS and I am unable to locate it. If anyone knows where we can locate this medicine please let us know. We are not dope heads, we are responsible adults trying to treat a problem which we have been treated for with no success. We are tired living isolated lives with no hope for help in sight and need Paregoric to start to live some sort of life again. Many patients in my doctors office feel this same way. There must be hope out there.

I was diagnosed with EE (esophogial erosion) the doctor put me on dexilant (60 mg) and i am still experiencing a problem with my hiatal hernia. is this normal. Can i also take omeprazole (20mg) once a day for this and excessive gas, not flatulance but a real pain in my upper chest. ## Hello, Nadiahope! How are you? Actually, they are both the same type of medication, as listed by the FDA, they are both PPIs, so you'd essentially be doubling up, which isn't advisable. Additionally, the discomfort you're experiencing could be due to a side effect of the Dexilant, it can cause that, along with nausea, dizziness and the flatulence that you're experiencing. Which goes to the next point, neither one of these medications will alleviated your gas, they may actually cause it. How...

Since taking Derxilant, it has helped my GERD immensely, but my new insurance company has a $100 monthly co-pay. Originally my physician recommended Dexilant because many other prescriptions and OTC drugs are not indicated for patients that also take Plavix, I do take Plavix. Do you know of any "new" medications that are as good as Dexilant but will not interfere with my heart meds?

where can I buy paragoric liquid for stomach pains - is it still made and if so where can i buy it in the NYC area ? ## My daughter was prescribed paragoric as an infant fo colick. I only gave it to her twice because I sampled it and it hurt my stomach, so I refused to give it to her again. Instead I was advised to give her catnip tea and it worked inside of 3 days. I made a tea and added honey in her bottle...she loved it. Catnip is very soothing to the digestive system. ## I am glad to hear that you had a good experience using catnip tea however it is unsafe to give honey to infants as a sweetener or in any form as it can cause infant botulism. Hi I was taking Nuzak for a long time possibly 8 years on and off, PRN but I recently weaned myself off completely very slowly over a few months. I am suffering from severe IBS and picked up weight with cravings , can stopping the Nuzak a couple of months back have these side affects . ## Hello, Mandy! How are you? Yes, the weight and cravings can sometimes occur when you withdraw from such a medication, as reported by the FDA. It may or may not have caused the IBS, it's hard to say on that, because it has been known to cause various gastrointestinal issues, but typically, they would crop up, while you were taking it and not after. Are you taking any other medications?

is this possible? I have read other forums where people said it isn't so much a problem of how much a person takes, but rather, why you are taking so much. any feedback much appreciated. thanks! ## Simethicone is used to treat the symptoms of gas such as uncomfortable or painful pressure, fullness, and bloating. Judging from the drugs indications, I don't think anyone would have a reason to go overboard on taking too much. I mean, once the gas and bloating subsides, there is really no reason to take more than you need. Side effect information I found states the following: When taken as directed, simethicone usually has no side effects. Also, the link below offers additional information on how this medication should be used and for what purpose: Furthermore, one can learn overtim...
