Fill Oxycodone Prescription (Page 38) (Top voted first)
UpdatedCannot fill them anywhere in Bradenton or Sarasota. Please help I have a real doctor and the pharmacy I have been going to the past year in my city says they will no longer fill out of county. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.
I know your post is older but I'm curious to know if you've found any help in Sarasota Bradenton area ? I'm now in the same boat with a tumor in my spinal cord!! I CAN'T do this! Any advice anyone out there?
Find a suboxone dr in ur area..heretohelp.com. i was on a ton of heavy meds for over 10 yrs and have been on sub. for 6 onths now and feel great..my pain is minimal or on my worst pain day on suboxone feel exactly like my worst day of pain wen i was taking all those oxys and dilaudid and methadone!! I was sooo scared to try it but im telling you..even with cancer it will make u feel ok!!
Has to be filled within the county it was prescribed
What Carlos says about the process is true. If you call around enough and ask for the pharmacist they 50/50 will tell you they have it not. Sams started not carrying them for some reason which is why I barely found about this "new process" through Walmart even though they are the same huh?
They won't fill my medication till they call my Dr. to make sure it's a valid reason or something as some people get it for nothing!! It makes me ashamed that it's up to the pharmacist to even consider filling it for you from what Sams has told me. I am friends with a PA and they are really cracking down on these narcotics. They have a system now were they know if you filled any narcotics in the last 30 days and WILL not fill ANY because of Dr. hopping.
WE are in legitimate pain as I am suppose to have surgery for my back, but the risk is I cannot lift more than 50lbs after I do and 1/10 chance of breaking it. I am stuck in this position of pain and cannot even fill my meds without being looked at like a drug dealer too. When I looked and asked around I always got a silent pause and a raised tone of voice! It's sad!!!! I don't deserve to be treated like nor anyone who has legitimate pain!!!
Its really getting old running out a week or so early at a new doctor. How long does it take to get them to up it t the correct dose anyway?
I've been going to cvs for quite some time now with no problems, last night I dropped my prescriptions off & the pharmist took them, he was new, I had never seen this one before, he dais one of my narcotic's was early, it was 28 days, which today would have made the 29th day, said he would ask the main pharmist in the morning if it could be filled earlier, I always drop them off same day every month, then pick them up next morning, well I just called to see when I could pick them up. & they said they had two of my prescriptions ready, & I asked when will the other two be ready, they said what are the other two, I told them & they asked me to hold on, so I believe it was the pharmacy manager came to the phone and asked me what time did i drop them off yesterday, and i told him, he said he did not no why they took my script, because the did not have them, ( my oxy 15mg) but he could fill the morphine 30mg for me along with my other two meds, now what am i supposed to do, I can't take just one narcotic script anywhere else, & i thought they were not supposed to take your script unless they had it in stock, i'm very frustrated right now, & i suffer from anxiety really bad, i'm having a panic attack as i write this, what do i do, leave them there until they can fill them & go without my medsm or tell them to put back all of my other meds & return my prescriptions and go somewhere else, I don't even know where else to go, let alone the fear of going some place else & then having a problem next month with cvs because i went somewhere else, this is insanity!!!
Hi Dee. It is insanity. People who have done nothing wrong other than gotten ill are being treated like criminals. The DEA insists they are not the reason for the insane treatment. It has been suggested that pharmacies may be trying to express their unhappiness with the fines and scrutiny they were hit with last year for filling prescriptions written by doctors, by making it difficult if not impossible for pain patients to obtain medication. If the meds are available in the state as the DEA insists, perhaps there is something to the theory that pharmacies are just saying they are out of stock to either make a point or to prevent any potential issues down the line. Either way it is a potential dark mark on pharmacists, one of the professions that were rated as the most trustworthy and caring a few years ago (way above ratings given to politicians, police, and bankers) As crazy as it is, I do not know what to tell you. When I ran out and was not able to get an Rx filled I had to go to the hospital where my BP was 209/130. A hospital stay that could have been prevented. When you have spent as much time in hospitals as I have due to my fight with cancer, you try to do all possible to stay out.
I really do not know for a fact what is happening or why. I would propose that someone who is familiar with the law look into the situation and see if this is not somehow violating the Americans with disabilities act. I understand there was a problem with "pill mills" however a blanket rejection to dispense medication to pain patients who have gone through the requirements is cruel.
Dee, leave them and ask them to have the closest CVS send some over. They CAN DO THAT.
TY SO MUCH FOR THE ADVICE SPYZ, I'M GOING TO DO JUST THAT!!!
I'm a pharmacy technician and I'd just like to say you're all screwed. We're over the junkies and the scum bags. These meds are intended for terminal cancer patients and unless your script is coming from a cancer center, good luck chuck. Suck it up and get help!!!!
Walgreens Agrees to Pay a Record Settlement of $80 Million for Civil Penalties under the Controlled Substances Act
"In addition to the $80 million civil penalty for the violations, the settlement revokes Walgreens' ability to distribute or dispense controlled substances listed in Schedules II " V for two years, ending in 2014."

You're a foolish and s***ty tech your not even a pharmacist. You don't have to Neil shut except how to count to be a tech. And ur also foolish to think someone must have cancer to be in extreme pain like back pain can commonly be
Let me know if they did it. I just remembered that when that happened to me, they filled everything else, then called around untill they found a close one with it in stock, and explained to them that they were out of it and sending me over to them. Stay as calm as you can, like its no big deal, be friendly, joke around, get on first name basis and pretend to ask THEIR advice. Yeah, suck up a little bit and they will bend over backwards to please you. Afterall, you are the customer. Without you, they have no job.
Not saying you don't have pain, but to be on all these extremely strong meds is unnecessary. Believe me, it's a game for the doctor, patient and some pharmacies. But trust this, your days are numbered. The most these known pain clinic patients will see is a hydrocodone/apap.
@ Spyz it was filled, but not without me having extreme panic/anixety attacks not knowing the outcome at the time (I also suffer from panic/anixety/ attacks) , & I was only able to get them because I was blessed with a ANGEL, one who put his job on the line for me
(Lord bless that person, & let no harm come to him), I will no longer go that route, I've signed up for mail order, God bless each & every one of you!!!
I still would have a problem; my insurance only fills 90 day rx's by mail. The doctor will/can only write 30 day scripts for these meds.
Geeze.....my dr is an has written me for oxycotin when i couldn't fill my 30s thru my insurance mail order...they suddenly said that i had to have an 80% timed release...and 20% oxys...and they had the nerve to say its a FL law...NOT! I'VE changed insurace companys and have been promised that this will not happen with them...we'll see! Oh...i finally filled at a walmarts this month...go figure...i got lucky and blessed! Good luck...i just dont have the $ to go to a mom & pop drug store as i don't sell them to pay for them....if i did i would b almost left with any of my meds!!! Lifes a "B" sometimes...and sometimes u get lucky!
Carlos, most mail order insurance companies do require 90-day supply's. however, if you call and talk to a CS rep and tell them what the situation is like in Florida (Drs who won't write more than a 30-day supply for opiates because of the DEA/government policies), they will often make allowances.
I've had to do this with both Blue Cross and Adventist Health...and both made the adjustment. You just need to get a compassionate, understanding rep and tell them the problems your having in Florida.
Well looks like the last post was on : Tues Sept 20th I believe that say's 11 WOW I didn't think this was all over I'm trying to find a Pharmacy here in Bradenton been looking to get two scripts filled 30 day supply: 80mg Oxy's qt150 (Time Reli ) & 30mg Oxy qt 90 of course Walgreens under there good faith they will not fill / CVS no.... I had been with Medco for the last 7/8 yrs had not a issue with them until they had teamed up with Express Script . I have been reading a lot of everyone's comments & yes they have been helpful. I may have to go the route with the meth don't really want to have been off of that for 3 yrs. Haven't tried the dilaudid but I'm going to be in a whirl of s*** within the next 3 day's. I do have Blue Cross Blue Shield wondering if I can go threw another mail order besides Medco even tho that is who they assigned us with threw our insurance plan.? Wondering if I contact @ Medco to talk about these's pharmacies whom state they don't feel comfortable filling the 80's & 30's since there in the same family again after they have been filling these two for the last 7 yrs! Can anyone give me some feed back ? I will be happy to sign anything to do with this run around about theses medications! It's hard enough just to get up to get to the Doctor's especially during hurricane season, let alone taking all day driving to pharmacy to pharmacy in and out of the car in the rain. Oh yea my body is really up for all of that! I wished just for 3 day's that theses people could be in my body with the pain level is way over 10 then the 2nd day have the meds that make you feel pretty close to normal them next day back to that slam lay there in bed hurts even when you breath! Thanks I needed to vamp ! GOD BLESS
I am glad that ("Pharmtech") is just that, a pharm tech and not a doctor. Obviously pharmtech has no idea how a Dr. comes to a conclusion about a person's daily pain. Phramtech... you make it sound like every cancer patient is in pain and only cancer patients can be in pain. Hey Phramtech there are people with cancer who are NOT in pain. Then there are people who have been mangled in accidents, veterans and others who have lost limbs, millions of others who have broke their backs, have had knee and hip replacements and countless other afflictions and ailments, but pharmtech thinks these people are not in pain and do not suffer because they do not have cancer. Hey pharmtech, stick to dispensing whatever meds the real doctors send you to fill, that is your job, not diagnosing patients, leave that up to the real doctors... There will always be Dr. who will write pain meds, but because of people like pharmtech they make it harder for legit patients. Drug laws are like gun laws, the honest people have to suffer and jump through hoops.
