Got coupons off the internet..not manufacturers but pharmacy said as long as has BIN, GRP, PCN and ID #'s. Lost insurance due to permanent layoff company closing. Received severance pay and now unemployment. Can afford Dr. visits every 3months but meds pricy. Gen. Adderal 30mg twice day and gen. Effexor xr 150 daily each almost $90 mo. I have been taking Effexor XR for I guess ten years with no problems. Three months ago I suddenly developed severe continuing dry mouth. My doctor did extensive blood tests that eliminated any organic cause but my pharmacist said she had read of dry mouth spontaneously occurring in patients who had been taking Effexor long-term (5-plus years). The only problem is she has not been able to source literature about this. Have any Effexor users out any knowledge or experience about this? I started Effexor XR 75mg in July of last year. I had insomnia for a month, and continuous dry mouth until I bought some a dry mouth oral rinse. I was brought up to 150mg in December or January. I started sweating a lot at night. Changing my clothes 3 to 4 times a night. Insomnia lasted about a month. During all of this time, I also experienced weight loss as it suppressed my cravings. I have tried twice to cold turkey it, and both times it ended in disaster. Suicidal thoughts being the main one. I went to the doctor, and I am now on 75mg daily. (i did get the wonderful brain zaps and mood swings for about a week) What my main concern is: when I upped the doses, certain side effects would calm down after a month. Night sweats and insomnia. I just started going to the health dept. I saw the doctor twice she have me effexor for hot flashes.I already take vicodin for pain, adderal for narcolepsy and cataplexy.I took a blood test. They said I tested positive for Benzobiazepinef I want to know if the drugs cause a false test.

I am moving from Effexor XR to wellbutrin xl because of severe weight gain. I have been trying to wean myself off to start the new medicine but I can't side the moodiness. Can I go ahead and start Wellbutrin if I have only moved from 150 Effexor to 75 so the change isn't do traumatic? ## What has your doctor advised? My doctor wrote me a script for Deplin. L-methylfolate. The first day I took it along with my effexor, I felt so sleepy and couldn't do anything because of it. I would just fall asleep . That night of the day I took the pill I went to bed around 10:30 PM and didn't wake up until 4:30 the next evening. I had 3 messages on my phone from my daughter that was getting worried about me. I just woke up at exactly 4:30 PM the next day. I was suppose to go pick up the rest of my medicines but it closed at 5:00 PM. My doctor increased my dosage from 225 mg. to 300 mg. After taking the new dosage for 2 weeks, I felt, literally, like a new woman! I was cooking, cleaning, socializing - things I didn't do much of in the past! I was ecstatic about how I felt! Everyone noticed the difference and then - all of a sudden - I'm back to feeling depressed again. It has now been four weeks since the dosage increase. Was the feeling good just a fluke? i ha ve been taking 300 mg for a long time now does this dosage ever get lessenend? all questions read 75- 37.5 300 is kind of concerning, is this normal? are there long term affects? or concerns? ## It really depends on you, such as how you respond to treatment, are you doing better and feel you could go down in the dosage? I am on half an effexor antidepressant of 37.5mg(18 and half mgs) halfed. I am on Calvepeen and I feel that there is a side effect of the two meds together,does anybody else feel like this.? ## Calvepen is a Penicillin class antibiotic called Phenoxymethylpenicillin and it is used to treat infections. What is the exchange dose of effexor xr and Zoloft?( what dose of Effexor is equal to 40 mg. of Zoloft? ## There is currently no 40mg dose of Zoloft available, the closest would be 50mgs, so the information I've found is relevant to that dosage. Generally the switch requires 75mgs of the Effexor ER to equal the 50mg dosage of Zoloft. I can't afford my prescription for Effexor 37.5mg. Is it safe to ask my friend for one of her antidepressant pills even though she takes something totally different? I need something bad. This is my 3rd day without my medicine and it's really taking a toll on me. ## No, that would not be a safe idea. However, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals does have an assistance program for the medication, which may enable you to get the medication free, or for a really low price, depending on your income, if you have no prescription coverage. They don't have information online, but they say to talk to your doctor about it, as the information for qualifying for the program and applications are available to healthcare professionals. What are the side effects of the medicine Efferin? I would like to know before I take any. ## The brand name Effexor is the closest match I can find to Efferin, as the name "Efferin" does not turn up under any drug databases.
