I have been taking Effexor XR for I guess ten years with no problems. Three months ago I suddenly developed severe continuing dry mouth. My doctor did extensive blood tests that eliminated any organic cause but my pharmacist said she had read of dry mouth spontaneously occurring in patients who had been taking Effexor long-term (5-plus years). The only problem is she has not been able to source literature about this. Have any Effexor users out any knowledge or experience about this? Any leads would be most gratefully received!

I don't know about what your pharmacist said.
But what I can tell you is that our bodies do change with time and any doctor can confirm that for you. What that means is that while it's not common, it is still quite possible for you to start experiencing a new side effect or two from something that you've taken for years, without any problems.
