Co To FL, Hydrocodone combination meds could have up to 5 refills and be called in.everywhere until October 6, 2014 when they became a Schedule! II. And as you stated there wasn't the having to be seen at least every 90 days. Even though drs can write 3-30 day rxs at one visit. few drs do it

I have unbearable degenerative disc disease pain. Nothing - months of physical therapy, medial block shots, trigger point shots, biofeedback, yoga, etc has helped. I am in agonizing pain. all I get is lectures. Is there anyone in the Boston area who can help me with pain medication?

I finally found someone for my husband he is going to a pain management center to get him off methadone and put on subboxcin I think that how u spell it lol anyway if you are on a fixed income you can find help I am in Indianapolis in they help the people here .but you have to look for help .I just hope it works out for him he is in so much pain he can't get out of the bed sometimes it is hard watching your loved one suffer because the doctors are afraid to give anyone anything. Thank god I found someone who will help good luck to you all out there just keep trying . crockette

croc. he may have a problem if he evet.has to change drs because sub is used to treat opiate addiction not pain. I understand he has no.choice right now. But it can cause problems down.the road.

Also if he is on Medicaid, he may want to check and see what your restrictions your state Medicaid Program has on paying for it. Medicaid in many states has yearly and/or life long limits on the amount they will pay for.

I broke down and had an injection to my hip. To try it. My reaction is itching, nausea and terrible diarrhea. And not only these side effects but the pain was awful. During and the next . My other 2 PM doctors wanted to do the same. If the injections worked I would go through the pain to get rid of pain. I had 2 doctor give me morphine and it worked then when I refused 'the rejections I was dropped. I live in St Petersburg Fl. I would like to take morphine again.

Dawn I have posted a doc in Tampa, must have MRI, scans,clean urine sign a contract, if you are a legitimate patient you LL be ok. They take patients from a lot of counties.Good luck.scrolll down and look for the website, jt tells you everything the insurance they take also take uninsured cash patients..

He isn't on medcade or medicare he won't be qualifiy until next year. In Indiana they have places to help with people don't have ins. and they go by a sliding scale that s. fits your budget .it was hard to find the place I had to go through a lot of people to get there .but he needs to be on some kind of pain medicine to have somekind of normal life.anything can happen to anyone at anytime all it takes is one person to mess your life up and those who love you. It s how you choose to deal with it make it or break it we choose to make it?

I am a 54 year old male with crohns and degenerative disc disease, I have had 5 surgeries and had about 1/2 of my intestines and bowel removed, have been on morphine, oxycodone and valium since 2007 here in Michigan, but now can't find a dr to prescribe these for me since primary care provider quit and left about 500 patients scrambling to get the help we need. They provided us with a tempory Dr. but all he is doing is putting everyone on suboxen without even having our records I learned when I saw him on the 23rd of this month. I have contacted several Drs. but with no luck as they seem scared to prescribe these meds or just don't care, they seem to put us all in the category of a addict, I have never abused my medications and often times have some left at the end of the month when it's time for a refill.

Marvin, I doubt you will find another Dr that will prescribe Valium with the pain meds. You may or may not find a pain Dr to prescribe you the same meds you've been taking. Asking if a Dr prescribes certain meds is a red flag. You will have to make an appointment and take a copy of your medical records from your previous Dr. You may or may not get a rx on the first visit. You will have to sign a pain contract and agree to routine drug panels, etc.

Marvin-I am 62 female in FL with same problem. My dr. was suspended leaving us stranded no warning. Even with 12 yrs records, never any problems prior, I cannot find dr. to take over my meds.Have other apt next week to see if brave dr there. Wheelchair bound is hard to travel a lot & am being treated like addict with the plague not understand why. These new laws are causing suffering undeserved.

I am looking for a pain management dr in central KY to help me..I was seeing one for several years. They had me on percocet and methadone, which helped some. The main dr there eho owned the practice and the staff were always rude and treated people like they were God's and pts were trash, even before the HB2 law last yr. but I dealt with it because after the first couple of yrs the main dr moved me to another dr in his practice because that Dr dealt more with pts on 2 meds and with all my issues, and this dr was great, he was the best thing in that practice...well I had been having some dental problems..I am almost 48 now, and I started on methadone like 9 yrs ago and I didn't get my first cavity until 8 yrs ago, within 5 more yrs, I had cavities in every tooth and needed 5 root canals and my oral surgeon and dentist told me it was the methadone. So I talked to my pain dr and told him I couldn't afford these root canals and if it was the methadone damaging my teeth. I would end up with no teeth, so he said he was gonna look into it and check all my meds, all my health issues just make sure the dentist was right and if it was the methadone doing it, he would change that to something else, well next visit, I saw nurse practitioner, who couldn't make changes. I told them I was suppose to see my dr and why so they said my next appt was with the dr and made it foe a month later, even my appt card said it was with the dr, I got there and guess what...again I saw a nurse practitioner, who couldn't make changes. In meantime I lost 3 teeth that needed root canals..well I demanded to see dr, a month later I went back went in and took a drug panel, passed as always, went in exam room thinking I was seeing my dr and in walks some strange man I had never seen before.wasn't even the head dr there, this was a stranger. I ask where my dr was and was told he left 2 mos before...no wonder they had been making excuses and putting me with a nurse practitioner all those times, when the dr specifically said he wanted to see me a month after our last visit (I later found put the reason my dr left so sudden was because he couldn't handle working where the head dr was so rude to pts and allowed his staff to be so rude), so this strange man ask what I needed..

I hate when they ask that..so I told him about the methadone rotting my teeth and what my other dr said...he said, he had never heard that ( why would a oral surgeon and dentist lie), I said well since last visit I had lost 3 teeth, so could we change the methadone, if My teeth kept getting bad, then fine we could switch back, but I hated to lose them all over a med, since I had perfect teeth til I was 40..this dr (who never met me) said well I can we in u off the methadone till at zero then start something else maybe, or maybe just try just percocet alone..I ask if once I got down to 1-2 methadone day (I was on 6 methadone and 4-6 percocet 10 day), he said "no, I will wean u 1-2 a month til at zero" that scared me, I knew I would be in severe pain so I ask my other option, he said I could always get another dr if I didn't like what he offered..I was so upset...be in little pain and toothless, or save teeth and suffer...I immediately made appt with neurosurgeon and ask to be referred to another pain dr so they set me up, but my appt wasn't for a few months until then the neurosurgeon treated my pain and my psychiatrist helped to get me through...I have degenerative disc disease, had a disecromy at L4/5 that failed now have bulging/herniated discs at L2-S1, spinal stenosis, arthritis in facet joints, spurs, had a fusion at C5/6 now have bulging/herniated discs at C3-C7 except for fusion, arthritis in neck, sciatica, nerve damage down left leg and to bladder (from back disc pinching nerve), osteoarthritis in both knees, both hips (I had a total rt hip replacement last year at age 46), osteoarthritis in both shoulders, nerve damage in rt arm due to carpal tunnel (have had the surgery though), fibromyalgia, migraines (due to neck and stress), and hip dysplasia (was born with) and will have to have other hip replaced in 3-5yrs...all this started when I hurt my back in 1995 as a nurse catching a pt falling outta bed, I got worse, other things got bad, I was put on total disability in 1997 (at 30 yrs old), therefore I now have chronic anxiety and some depression, I have been dx with PTSD from abuse and a sexual assault when I was a teen..

I mean I am only 47...I walk with a cane, can't enjoy grandkids, can barely do my own shopping...my marriage failed because of my health and I lose my dr without being told, and some stranger wants to treat me like I don't matter...so I waited a few months for my new pain dr, 2 weeks before my appt, he shut down his office, didn't get shut down...did on his own because the laws in KY were getting so ridiculous, he was moving to another state, so my neurosurgeon found me a dr in Frankfort, Ky (HE knew he needed to find one that would help me, I was past epidural had too many, I was never getting better just needed to be pain managed), well it was a 6 mo wait for this next dr...omg, I had already told mine, I chose getting another dr..now months later, still noone...well I was patiently waiting with my neurosurgeon and psychiatrist trying to get me through...my appt was for Feb 2015... in Dec 2014, this dr had a heart attack and was outta office for several weeks, his established pts were having Fitz needing their meds and appts, when he came back, he was only working 3 days a week and had to get his regular pts caught up so they called and moved my appt from feb. Til april...omg...what else could happen??? Well 2 weeks before this appt I got a letter from them stating this dr can no longer take any new pts, after his heart attack, he was only gonna be in 3 days instead of 5 from then on and already had more pts than he was gonna be able to handle....I give up..my neurosurgeon has actually said...he don't know where else I send me..that if I know anyone, he will refer me..that he knows pain drs but none who will take a pt who doesn't need anymore inj's. (not that I refuse them, he said I'm past that), but because of new laws most pain drs require pts to be able to take inj's. and limited meds...alot of steroid inj's. over time damages the cartridge in people and most often damages in hip first, well I already have total hip replace at 47, almost no cartridge in other hip and almost none in knees...if I keep having inj's., I will damage other areas trying to help a different area....

SORRY FOR THE LONG STORY BUT WANTED EVERYONE TO KNOW WHY I'M ASKING..I HAVE ALL MRI, I'VE BEEN GETTING MRI EVERY 11/2-2 YR FOR LONG TIME OF BACK AND NECK, HAVE HIP AND KNEE REPORTS, HAVE ENTIRE RECORD FROM LAST 2 PAIN MANAGEMENTS, IN 15 YRS I'VE ONLY BEEN TO 2, HAVE ALL BLOOD WORK RESULTS, DRUG PANELS, EVERYTHING....SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME...I AM ONLY 47, MY GRANDDAUGHTER IS 5, I WANT TO ENJOY HER, I DON'T WANNA BE ON A CANE, I WANT TO DRIVE AS LONG AS I CAN...I'M NOT READY TO JUST SIT IN MY RECLINER AND DIE....I'M IN CENTRAL KY NEAR LOUISVILLE BUT WILL TRAVEL TO OTHER COUNTIES, LEXINGTON ONLY HOUR OR SO...I MM HATE TO MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE WITH BOTH MY GROWN KIDS HERE, MY GRANDKIDS, MY PARENTS (AND MY MOM HAS EARLY DEMENTIA AND HYDROCEPHUS, I NEED BE NEAR THEM..I'M SINGLE, MOVING HAS TO BE MY VERY LAST OPTION...

my fellow ky friend,im in same boat as you,i was cut of completely after 2 years due to my clinic closing due to the new laws an scared Drs,my pcp took me in his office cpl weeks ago..an said to me"MOVE from KY if you can ,or suffer rest of your life,dea took over medical care in ky,the politicians only care about stats an theres big federal money in the "drug war"......all pain clinics in ky are booked up to a year!i was told by them no pain meds for new patients,shots only,so im not able to move financially out of state,so il suffer long as i can,and then ....good luck

#1, where r u ? Did ur VA Dr offer an alternative ? If so what was offered ? What were his reasons go the discontinuance ? To Give u helpful advice I need to o know these things. Also, does he seem too b a decent guy ? How old is he ? How far is the next closest VA Dr office ? W/o this info I can only suggest the following...Either go bk to him ASAP or make appt w next closest VA also ASAP. The longer u wait w/o ur meds shows them u can do w/o, even though they knodamn well how hard it is to get these meds. Also percocet is hardly ur livers friend. In my opinion, countless others it shouldn't even b legaL. I'd encourage u to look it up. Percocet n vicoden r LOADED with it. When u c the Dr tell him ua were suffering so much, can't live ur life out ina bed. Tell m uve lived a very productive life thus far n now it's killing u psychologically as well. Tell m Theres things u hafta do, u feel like a burden on family n friends. Tell Him u have an aunt or uncle that's re covering from cancer n they gave u a Cpl (use these words exactly) little purple pills called MSER 30mg. Tell m u were amazed that after 90 min ur pain level went from a 9 to a 2. ,& lasted 8 full hrs, so if u had 3/day u cld hv ur life bk.(this is extended release morphine, but DONT let m know u know this, VERY imp). It both sickens n enraged me how this country treats r vets. But don't let me get started on that. I truelly hope this will help u. Plz lemme know how it goes. A sincere prayer to the Father wldnt hurt either, He is the One that made the opium poppy that morphine ina 1st place. May God b w u in this...Boots.
