Karen. That's want meant for you. I said "Karen a website for finding a lawyer is Avvo. And etc." Then a slipped a space and addressed a different person whose name is TRME! He said something snarky. So make sure that I am addressing you before you say something back to me. All I said to you was an answer to your question about finding an attorney. I'm sorry you thought I wad talking to you but you misread my post. Like I said I addressed you on one line and then skip a line and then addressed someone else about their snarky comment not you. I did not and do not think that anything you said was snarky and that is why I specifically said TRME. So just for further reference read the entire post and carefully so that this mistake is not made again. :-)

Thanks for the information, Christina M about the doctor in NC. I am glad you were able to find him for yourself and thank you for sharing. I will keep you posted.

My back problems started in NC and then I was transferred to Florida for work and had a great doctor there too. So I am moving back from FL too.

There are no laws that require a dr to treat a patients pain. If there were, there wouldn't be this thread. When a drug panel is done, you don't just pay for the diagnostics. It is like when you see a dr, you don't just pay for their time. You pay for the professionals time and overhead such as rent, utilities, equipment, etc.

BL why are you still talking about that? No one else is. Stop trying to start stuff. You do not belong here either. No one believes that you are a chronic pain sufferer. Why? Well, because you refuse to even try to explain what at least part of your "pain" is. You use the excuse "you aren't supposed to share personal info on here". Well, guess what Smarty Pants. Telling us what you're suffering from IS NOT considered personal information. So your excuse is invalid. However, the most important point here is that the things you ARE saying are not helping nor are they wanted and a majority of the members of this forum do not want to hear from you because you are so negative, rude, and have nothing genuine or helpful to add. Nor, will you tell us why you are here in the first place because to us it just seems that you are here to cause problems for those who have too many of them to begin with.

I have recently moved to Wisconsin, about 30 Miles North of Milwaukee. I got a PCP and she doesn't do pain meds, but referred me to Pain Clinic over in the next town. They want to stick needles in my back and burn the nerves and give me injections in my hips for that pain. They have no doubt of the pain I am in, however because I have BiPolar they flat out said I would be high risk for addiction!! Their advice was let us do all these other things to torture your body over several visits but keep taking Tylenol. WHAT THE ++++? i THOUGHT they were there to prescribe the meds that the doctors wouldn't ?

No "law" to treat the pain, but it is in the title of their practice. PAIN management. All I've gotten is UAs at 1000% markup and a 30-45 second office visit where the dr prescribes Ibuprofen. The total bill? $2970. I pay 20% and take 4 hours of my day for something I could get for a few bucks at the grocery store. For a severely degenerated back, arthritis, three fractured vertebrea, fusion and stim implant in December.

Fused discs, spinal stim implant that went wrong, and the Dr. yells at me for being in pain after all this. Then bills me 2 months income, says come back in two weeks. I seek a second opinion and get even worse treatment.

My POINT isn't a LAW, pardon my choice of words, it's an oath and a title of M.D. that gives them the responsibility to actually provide a service other than bill mill. We can't demand a refund for poor or lack of services. The license and title of "doctor" imposes upon them the responsibility to provide treatment and relief from the agony, not run a drug panel, put one foot in the exam room, mispronounce your name and leave before you get one word out.

That is what thousands of suffering people are dealing with here.

We just want ONE doctor to actually come in, sit down, actually LOOK at your MRI scan that cost us a small fortune and shows empirically the damage inside our bodies, and relieve the pain and find options for cures or at least ways of reducing the suffering.

Patronizing us with "have you tried using ice packs when it hurts?" or "have you tried tylenol?" is NOT what a "specialist" is for.

Shouting at us for not getting better after a procedure is NOT what a specialist is for.

Treating EVERY human walking in the door as a pill seeking junkie is NOT what a specialist is for.

They get paid 5-20 times what I get paid and I get treated like an imbecile and junkie, and quite often as a mark. Someone to make fast money off of. My pain docs have made, collectively, over $120,000 off me in the past 6 months with no results, and yet refuse to at least treat the pain.

I don't want to take narcotics for the rest of my life for my back pain, but at least give me some form of relief for at the end of a 13 hour shift when I can't walk upright or sleep afterwards.

One nurse suggested Benadryl for the pain. I said why not whisky? Lets go back to the 17th century? She said good idea. Soooo, take a drug (yes, alcohol is a drug) with no supervision that causes over 100,000 deaths per year, and forget taking 1 or 2 pills a day under a doctor's supervision that causes almost no deaths per year. Zero deaths if taken as directed. My liver is getting upset.

Our POINT is, why are we seeing these "specialists" in the first place? they do nothing effective, just bill us into poverty and milk our insurance policies? Am I the only one that sees this?

P.S. My last appointment was for 3:45. I was seen at 6:15 with no apology for the wait and the Dr. spent 15 seconds in the exam room. I never got a word in. Cost of the exam? $1150.00. Never examined me, just hellohowyadoinggoodbye. I've given up on doctors. Patient, heal thyself.

You aren't just paying the dr for his education, training and time. You're paying for the rent, utilities, other employes salaries, insurance, equipment, etc. You have to look at it a a whole and not just the dr. If you don't like the care a dr is giving you, find another dr.

Fancy I am so sorry that they will not give you pain meds. However, I would be remiss if I didn't let you know that what they suggested is not torturing your body. I have had my nerve endings burned, which is called a rhizotomy, and believe me it worked a lot. I got this procedure done almost 2 years ago and the pain still hadn't returned to what it was before. Don't get me wrong it didn't take away 100% of my pain. I suffer from a shattered pelvis that was broken in 5 different places and my pubic symphysis was broken in half and because they missed that particular break they didn't fix it and when they were sitting me up and teaching me how to walk again made my pelvis move and curl into itself and heal wrong. Which in turn made it necessary to have more surgeries. I also broke my back in half and had a spinal fusion L1-L3. So the rhizotomy cut down my back pain by approximately 70% which is a considerable amount and made it possible to do more and live my life. I'm still in pain of course but at least it is more manageable with medications and other smaller, infrequent steroid injections. So please in my opinion from my own experience with the procedure I say that it is definitely worth a try. However, I do think you should try to find a doctor that will give you pain pills to do it. The procedure will make you pretty sore and tender for about a week and I needed the pain killers. So if these doctors won't even give you post op pain medicine I wouldn't have it done with them because you will be miserable without them. Please keep searching for a doctor in your area. Also try to search outside your area too. My new doctor, who is probably the best I've ever had, is actually just over 3 hours away from me and it is so worth they drive. If I we're you I would post on here what city you live in and that you are looking fora doctor that will prescribe pain meds and that you don't mind having to travel to get to him/her. That's what I did. It took a while to get a response but it was so worth it when I did. Good luck, darling. I hope you take my opinion into consideration about that procedure and I hope my post had helped you a little.

I agree with you 100%. I'm going through the same thing. I had failed cervical fusion and been in pain for the last 2 yeas even worse since second surgery and he does act like he gets mad cause I'm still in pain. Epidural injection in my neck didn't help and I don't want to keep taking those. The doctors all seem to work together and 1gave me some nerve medication and my entire hands and arms were swollen. I'm really tired of going to these Dr's and getting no answers and getting treated like trash. And they don't take time to listen and get mad when you ask questions

Hey folks you know im all on your side and love u all ...38 yr crohns 4 bowel resections terrible pain another stricture and bloods under 7.0 so anemia not good .. Im also an educated publisher and professional business woman by trade now BL i understand being a doctor is costly and for the dedicated drs they are very fruatrated with everything from insurance to inability to treat their patients the way they see fit yes some dont care or are inefficient but forget about laws what about the oath one takes to never hurt and help... If you r in true pain and have real backup and know the consequences of pain meds then the dr should have no problem treating you... I never had a pain man problem always got care now i still thankfully get help but the drs are so afraid and limited to amounts needed and i do understand but if you have the proper backup fight for your patient !!! Do you agree w that?

Used up, I here ya and agree 110% ...how about how much they charge for a U/A 1200!!!! Really omg what a scam... For a 35.00 evaluation ill go high 300 due to employees etc, but 1200 every time they take urine really? Lol there are so many things we can dispute that are usuary.... What a money making joke... So many of us cant get the proper treatment and treated terrible i must say before my ilast dr i had a mean awful one for several months then i fired him with my primary care and we returned the prescriptions...id rather b in pain then b mistreated i will never sell my soul or values for anything... Other then that i was lucky but i suffer so bad like all of you... And now i get help but not what i need do to laws and the drs are scared... But most are mean i hear from friends and horrible stories here... Its insane,,,and i think its just getting worse... My dr raised my meds by 2 pills two months ago and helps some but said this month dont you think we should lower,,, two months and then lower ??? Why even raise just to reverse so quickly... my disease just worsens and recently got horrible ....really? Its insane i try not to get too upset anymore and just curl up in pain and not function because thats my life,.this easter weekend i should have been in hospital but they are so bad and understaffed i didnt want to go especially since last time i ended up w MRSA on my chest and i was there for bowel and gall stones lol. My goal is to get to dr Tennant as soon as im able to!!! I was planned to go but Its hard because im so weak w bloods so traveling from east coast to west by myself these day is impossible..but maybe one day...hopefully the transfusions will help.. I wish dr tennant could skype and have medical records sent and any blood he needed order and we have done here. I wonder if that could ever work? Love to u all, my heart is with you.

Have you found a new Dr. yet and if so are they treating you properly? My husband Gordon is basically in the same situation as you were. Hurt his back in 90 at work and has 3 bulging and herniated disc. He was on all kinds of pain meds before and didn't know what day it was. Then he found a Dr who put him on the duragesic pain patch which made a world of difference. He was on 250 mchg every 48hrs and 30mg oxycodone 1-2 every 6 he's as needed. Well that Dr lost his license due to unpaid child support and he finally found a regular family Dr that would take over his treatment as well as his regular care. When he was first diagnosed, dr. Myron Smith a neurologist told him never to have back surgery, so he has never. Well his Dr, we found out to be a quack pot, brought in a pharmacist to help treat his patients. He told my husband that the reason for was sciatica pain down his leg was from his cholesterol be high. Go figure. Well when he questioned his Dr (Dr. Daniel BLOCH) his Dr dropped him. Now he can't find another Dr willing to take over his care. Thx for sharing

Hi njshore I agree with you. I have had a lot of things wrong with me and the saddest part of it is I'm allergic to ibuprofen, medrol, methylprednisolone, prednisone, Steroidal Neuromuscular Blockers. The most saddest part too is I have proof of everything that is wrong with me. This is what I have scoliosis, Fibromyalgia and Ankylosing spondylitis. I have a rheumatologist and he put me on methotrexate to slow down the aging but he told me that of my MRI that I lost a good five years wroth of damage to my pelvic area and he couldn't prescribed me pain meds cause I would need them for the rest of my life but he would referral to any pain specialist for you. I've been on pain meds for almost 8 years. The Dr that started me on meds back in 2007 - 2010 I was on 20 mg of oxycontin 9 pills a day and for breakthrough pain 10/325 mg of vicodin. Than I got drop right along with 300 of patients cause he had to get rid of some cause he was over the limited of patients. So I went to another Dr and he took over for 3 yrs and started to cut me back and off of all my meds and I said I want a MRI done there is something wrong but no he wouldn't so had to get another Dr to order it and found out I had a tear in my L - 4 . wow. All I'm saying is I have been through hell and back and know back to hell cause no one is listing to me. I only ask to be back on my 20 mg op at twice a day and 4 of the vicodin for the flare ups that's what works the best for me. I don't know why they want to change it. I have a lot more to my story that I would tell the news people and a lot of people told me I should get a lawyer. Thanks for ready. Take care. God bless you and to who ever else reading this.

NOW I AM IN A BAD SPOT, I HAD FOUND THAT THERE ARE LEGAL ISSUES WITH THIS PAIN CLINIC DROPING SO MANY AND THEY SHOULD HAVE CUT APT TIMES WORKED OVERTIME TO TAKE CARE OF PAITENTS, I HAVE DELAYED THE COLOSTOMY I NEED OVER THIS AND MY PRIMARY WONT WRITE FOR THE DOESES I WAS ON. SHE DROPPED ME FROM 15 MG OXCODONE THAT I TOOK EVERY FOR HOURS MAX OF 6 DAY. TOOK MY 15 MG DOES OF MORIPHINE. NOW JUST 30 INSTEAD OF 45. TOOK MY SOMA AWAY. THEY ALSO ARE THE ONES THAT ARE SUPOSE TO BE HELPING ME GET IN PAIN MANAGEMENT AND MESSED THAT UP TOO. THE DOCTOR THAT I HAD A REFERAL WITH TURNED ME DOWN SAYING REASON I WAS ALREADY IN PAIN MANG WHICH I AM NOT WHICH TELLS ME THEY DID NOT DO THERE JOB HE EVEN STATED THE NAME WILLAMETTE PAIN AND SPINE. I FOUND THEY LOST TO DOCS SAME TIME ATLEAST THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IN THE MEAN TIME I AND OTHERS ARE LEFT IN A DARK SITUATION. TOLD MY PRIMARY I AM HAVING SUCICIDAL THOUGHTS AND SHE DID NOTHING. AND DID NOTHING ABOUT MY HIGH BP PULSE WHICH WHEN I WAS IN THE CANCER CLINIC MY HEART RATE WA 168 BP 180/122 WHICH IS HI WHEN I GO THRU WITH WITHDRAWL IT WILL ONLY GO HIGHER. I HAVE EVEN CALLED THE LOCAL NEWS. I AM NOT ALONE THEY SAID THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING LOTS OF CALLS ABOUT THIS. SO TOMORROW IS THE DAY I CAN FILL WHAT LITTLE SHE GAVE ME, I ONLY HAVE A FEW TABS LEFT OF SOMA.I BROKE THEM INTO PIECES. SO I AM STILL IN A PANIC I HAVE BEEN SO DEPRESSED I AM HAVING HORRIBLE THOUGHTS OF DISPARE AND NOT EATING JUST IN BED AND CRYING MOST OF THE TIME I AM DEPRESSED NO ONE IS ADDRESSING IT I CAN NOT TAKE ANTIDEPRESSANTS. EVEN IF MY HISTORY OF 3 BLEEDS IN BRAIN AND HEART FAILURE. SHOULD BE EVEN MORE OF AN ALARM FOR THEM TO WITH DRAW ME SLOWLY. IF I DIE OR HAVE ANOTHER BLEED OR PROBLEMS THEY WILL BE AT FAULT FOR SHE SAID NOTHING AGAINST THE PAIN CONTRACT OR DOSES I WAS ON. SHE COULD HAVE WROTE FOR LARGER DOES AND I COULD HAVE CUT THEM BUT YOU CAN NOT CUT MORIPHINE AND I AM IN INCREASED PAIN. I HAVE BEEN PLANNING TO TAKE MY LIFE IF I HAVE TO IF IT GETS TO BAD I WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH IT ALL OVER AGAIN WHEN OR IF I DO HAVE THE COLOSTOMY I NEED. I REFUSE TO GO INTO SURGERY WITH OUT PAIN MANG ON BOARD. DUE TO THE MALPRACTICE FROM THE PAST THAT PUT ME IN THE POSTION I AM IN NOW. THESE DOCS THAT GIVE OU MED D NEED TO BE RESPONSIBE FOR WHAT THEY DO. AND HOW THEY HANDLE PATIENTS. I HAVE OTHER BIG STRESSES IN MY PERSONAL LIFE AND FEEL ALONE. I DONT NO WHAT TO DO BUT HAVE TRIED TO DO ALL I AM SUPOSE TO AND DID NOTHING WRONG. I HAD THESE MED I AM ON AND WANT TO GET OFF THEM SO I NEVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN BUT LIFE IS SO UNBARABLE WITH THE PAIN I AM IN. I AM SORRY FOR YOUR HUBBY HAS HE FOUND A NEW DOC.ITS GETTING HARDER AND HARDER ITS A ALL ABOUNT THE DOLLAR AND FEAR IF DOCS STICK TOGETHER AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT THERE SHOULD BE NO ISSUE.LIKE I SAID I PROMISE IF IT WAS THERE FAM MEMBER SUFFERING THEY WOULD SURELY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. FOR NO ONE WANTS TO SUFFER OR SEE THERE LOVED ONE DO THE SAME. LET ME NO HOW IT GOES. .IF I DO NOT POST AGAIN IT WILL BE DUE TO I WILL HAVE COME TO THE DECISSION TO TAKE MY LIFE WHILE I STILL HAVE THE MEDS TO DO SO. I HAVE BEEN CUTTING DOWN TO SAVE FOR I NEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN I DID NOT EXPECT IT WOULD HAPPEN SO FAST OR GO AS I HOPED AND I PRAY FOR ALL OF YOU THAT SUFFER. TO THE EXTENT THAT THE CHOICE OF TAKING YOUR LIFE EVEN MAY BE AN OPTION. I DONT WANT TO DIE.I REALLY DONT.I DONT WANT TO SUFFER EVEN MORE.I HAVE SO MANY PAIN ISSUES.AND AS ALL TO DO ALL THEY CAN TO GET HELP BEFORE EVEN THINKING O F TAKING THERE LIFE OR RIGHT TO DIE. I NO ITS WRONG.I AM SO SCARED AND DONT NO WHERE TO TURN NEXT GOOD LUCK TO ALL.GRANDMA PAT
