Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 243)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Hey maC686, (or anyone else that couldkindly help!),

I am looking for a doc, not CPR, and I think you may have been able to get some thru this site thru PM's. Was with my previous doc in Longmont for 5 years and he's no longer continuing pain and med mgt. Besides horrible back issues, I have 2 diseases that I've so far had 2 surgeries in which they scrape down my orbital bones for. Its pretty gnarly :( I'm in constant pain and over the next few years looking at probably 3 more surgeries (they say that's the average)...but trying to function and living in pain all day every day. Have scans, records, and surgery records. Is there anyone you know of besides Dr. May's clinic (think it's called CPR?) Willing to travel a bit, but would like to stay in or around Denver area. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Life saving appreciated! Not sure how to speak to y'all "privately"/email. Thanks so much and hope you're doing well and as pain free as possible!

THORSON-

All I was saying, and I NEVER pointed you out, was that if you or anyone is looking for a doctor outside of Colorado that you would get better help and answers for that dr by starting a thread for your area. I never said I, or anyone here wouldn't help out with anything else. I, too, have an extensive history dealing with the same issues as each of us; chronic pain. I was trying to be helpful for those looking for a dr outside of Colorado. Not once did I say you or anybody outside colorado shouldn't post here for help, only that we, moe than likely cannot help with finding a dr in your or any other area out side of Colorado. I apologize if you got that impression from that short post. Take care.

This is kind of off the subjects recently posted. this question is to patients of Unified Health Group in Arvada. My sister has been going there for about 14 months now. as far as I can see she hasn't had any issues. I have witnessed her life chsnge for the better. she is more happy, able to get out of the house more often and for longer periods of time. About 2 months ago the dr.s had to cut her meds, I think she said they were the breakthrough meds, but she's thankful they haven't decreased her Long acting meds. To make a long story short she was slightly surprised when she was asked to take a "yearly random drug check" she's not worried and I know she has no reason to be. Has anyone else had to take this yearly drug check? I am curious if it has something to do with New 2014 laws? I am a large part of her life I help take care of her from housework, to helping her get her meds filled and the run around with the pharmacies, and certain God complex having pharmacists etc. I 've seen her struggle. I know other PM have monthly or for example 8 of 12 months diagnostics, etc. it's nothing new. This at Unified Health Group is new to her anyway. Just curious if you as a patient, friend or family member have any information? Is this a 2014 law change. Thanks any and all information is appreciated. One more thing my sis was concerned about is if insurance was going to cover, or will she get some bill in the mail?

Ouchie, I did not say your being rude. I get it. You just want people from Colorado on this site. I really think you should have people from all over to have much better input. It's the only way to unite to get some better information and to work together as a big group. No hard feelings what so ever OUCHIE. Wish you best of luck. Stay well my friend. God Bless. My prayers for you all. Thanks

I do suggest that you guys and gals work together as a whole to get things done. I have so much more important info no matter where I'm from because I been through the mill for about 23 years. I wish you all well. Take care. I hope it all works out for everyone. With the highest respect, Thorsen. It's sad, you all should be opened to everyone. Good luck.

Hi Mac,

Yes, that was all I was trying to say! I WAS trying to help but fk it. Your cool Mac, but I sure as hell don't appreciate being told I was not trying to help. Considering the title of this thread is "Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado" I don't think I was being rude or not helping by stating they may get better help my doing wtf I said. Anyways, I'm not going to bother posting again. Take care.

Beth, thankyou so much for your support. I'm here to help people that need help because we all need help with the situation the DEA puts us in. I don't want to see no one suffer in pain because I know what pain can do to others and myself. I give thanks to the people out there trying to help each other in every way possible. Lets be positive to help each other no matter what the circumstance. Beth, thankyou for your support. You are so very kind and understanding. Also thanks to others that help me so much so far!! I deeplyappreciate it. Lets work together!!

Hi Ouchie, With all due respect this pertains to all sates that's why MAC made this thread for all people having concerns with the Opioids and other Fentanyl for chronic pain. We are here to help anyone that needs help that live in the United States. If that is not the case I will stop using this site to help others as I thought we were!!! I don't understand your Concern OUCHIE since we all must help each other others and myself on this site. Like I said if this thread is only for Colorado residents then I will withdraw my name!! Thank you,Thorsen

I know I don't post much, but I do read in the background. For those asking for doctors in other states, that needs to be asked on a thread for that state or even better would be to start your own post for that with your state in the title. Just a thought as this is SPECIFICALLY for DENVER COLORADO. Sorry, it's just a waste to keep asking for help from this board for a different state. Call around and just ask what type of PM therapy they do. Good luck!

Sometimes that's what you have to do is just call drs and see if they do pain management with medication and then just go talk to the dr.

yeah still nothing... my back is hurting me but maxing out the advil and laying on a heating pad seems to help until i can get to my new doctor.. i see my head ache specialist tomorrow.. i want them to drug check me so i can show them this is me 6 days with an abrupt stop without me really wanting too... and 0 i mean 0 withdrawal symptoms.. i think i'm going to do the genetic diagnosis on 23andme and see what it says about opiate addiction... i am not even having the smallest cravings... i stopped smoking cigarettes after 15 years of a pack a day and its been 7 year now that i have stopped... and almost every day i have that feeling like "well its time for a smoke" and i feel for my lighter.. that i dont even carry anymore... so that was something i still deal with... xanax i only craved when i was detoxing from it.. but i knew if i just took a tiny piece it was like starting the detox all over again.. and that thought was enough to keep me off.. it was so so Horrible.. never want to do that again.. i will admit that i heard stopping opana was going to difficult and so far it was like i never did it in the first place.. i am over weight due to inactivity due to my back..i hope that is not delaying the onset of Withdraw... opana never gave me euphoria only pain relief like nothing else i have ever taking.. when i started i was on Oxycodone and Oxycontin and they gave me a ton of euphoria.. almost too much.. ok ill stop telling my story now and thanks for listening. thanks for starting this forum it has been a big help knowing there is still a compassionate doctor out there.. if i end up seeing CPR ill let them know this story.

Does anyone know a descent Pain Mgmt. Doctor that's located anywhere around Central New Jersey. I would deeply appreciate if anyone can help . I had been seeing a Pain doctor for 9 years, he started giving me a hard time helping with my Opioids. I'm on a 25 mcg Fentanyl patch and 3/15 mgs of immediate release morphine a day. I know I need a higher dose patch because its just not helping me anyone. I'm been a great patient. Don't abuse anything. I don't smoke or drink. I been getting so tired of my doctors attitude lately for he's always very moody. My doctor just won't listen. I'm on permanent Disability foe 14 years. I been through every type of procedures to help my pain but the only one that works is the meds I mentioned. I had for lower back surgery's an two neck surgery's. I also suffer from diabetic nerve pain. If all due respect to all please advise a good or even half good doctor in Central New Jersey or around that area to help me. I'm desperate as you all know about intense pain. PLEASE HELP WITH A PAIN DCOTOR IN NEW JERSEY!! I would deeply appreciate it. God Bless. Thankyou. Hurting so bad in New Jersey.!!! THORSEN

Hey there Rainbow Flowers :) I live in Enid Oklahoma right now and Mac686 was telling me about a Good Doctor that works in Colorado And Oklahoma. He said his name is DR. May but, didn't give me his first name. I looked him up on the net and I think I found him. I also read that he's a pediatric Doc. I will call here in few and let Y'all no. As far as medicine goes, a good strong meds that work and not just barely take the edge off and wears off in a two or three hours or sometime it doesn't give me any relief at all. Here a bit of my story. I was kicked in the head at work by a combative resident, big, tall, strong, tall fellow in his late 30's he is mentally ill and really a scary person. Nobody wanted to care for him. He is in a padded room, on the floor and I was on my knees changing him when he bunny kick in th right side of my head, very hard and seen a light and heard a popping sound Workman Comp doc said it was my shoulder so I kept working for 4 more mounts thinking it would get better. Well long story short, it didn't get better and also I was made to work alone and also hurt my thoracic and my lumbar spine. So when I am in l this horrible pain so I go the my PC and he ordered an MRI, it came back and he sat me down and said that I have something bad wrong with every disc in my lumbar and thoracic and two ruptured disc I'd one bulging with spinal cord compression a completely collapsed three herniated and bulging disc through out my entire spine, faset and DDD and arthritis. They did ACDF on two disc with hardware but say it to risky to do and more surgery on my back bc of all that bulging. In short terms, I have just live with it. This is not all I have wrong but won't go into it all right now unless you want me to tell you bout it...Lol. My husband bad too, he's had lower back surgery and has a bunch wrong as well. Peace & love, Beth <3
