I have been taking lisonpril/hctz 20-25 mg, is it safe to switch to triamt/hctz 37.5-25 mg? ## There is currently a shortage of Triamterene with Hydrochlorothiazide, so you may have trouble getting a prescription for it filled. Has your doctor recommended making this change? The difference between the two is the Lisinopril, which is a ACE inhibitor and the Triamterene, which is a potassium sparing diuretic. They are both used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions, but the Triamterene is often give to someone that requires diuretic therapy, but is too low in potassium. The side effect profile is also similar for both and may include: nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and dehydration. Learn more: ## Is Triamt hctz generic for clonazepam

trying to find this pill to help my son with bed wetting.A Diuretic to promote normal urinary elimination. ## Dewitt pills are no longer manufactured. In addition, a diuretic isn't going to help with normal urinary output, because it works by removing fluid from the body and increases urinary output. This could actually cause your son to have times where he can't hold it and it could worsen the problem. There are medical solutions available. Have you consulted his doctor?

Would like to know if you get leg cramps following taking Torsimide, Also was told that Fluid pills, namely Lasix is dangerous when taken with blood pressure meds,(Enalaprel)... Would appreciate any infor. Thanks ## There are dangers associated with combining them, but they happen very rarely and diuretics are often combined with blood pressure medications, the dangers are most often associated with people that have severe, active cardiac conditions, such as congestive heart failure. The usual doses, for a person that is regularly monitored by their doctor very rarely cause any dangerous issues. As to the leg cramps, there are 2 reasons those might be occurring, or they could be from a combination of both. The medication may be causing you to become dehydrated, or it may have caused you...

This Drug was sent to me as a Generic for Lasix, it was marked Furosemide TAB 40MG. But it dosen't look like anything I have taken before. Can someone tell me is it a Generic Lasix? ## Yes, this tablet also contains 40mgs of Furosemide, the active ingredient in Lasix, it's just manufactured by a different company. It is normal for pharmacies to supply generics from different companies, depending on whomever was offering the cheapest price at the time they had to restock their supply. This is how they keep their prices as low as possible for customers that do not have insurance. Is there anything else I can help with?

my mom is in a quack rehab place. they are giving her lasix for water retention and restricting her water to 1200 cc's per day and giving her sodium tabs 3 times a day. it sounds like some has their head where the sun doesn't shine. she never had edema in her entire life. she fell and broke a hip. and I think these people are going to kill her, out of stupidity, not maliciousness. help! ## Have you spoken to her doctor(s) about your concerns? It is a misconception that someone needs at least 2 liters of water daily, because you also take in fluids in other ways, such as in what you eat. If they have a concern about her retaining fluid, or possibly developing congestive heart failure, then it is normal for them to restrict her fluid intake and to use the Lasix to help draw out an...

Could this medication be the reason for my very dry and extremely itching skin? ## Yes, it could be the reason for it! Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic, so it removes fluid from the body. What dosage are you taking? You may be on too high of a dosage for you, or you may need to make sure you take in some more fluids. I had a similar problem, when they had me on too high of a dosage of diuretics.

I have been taking those two pills in the same dose for over two years now,is it safe to be on the water pill for such a long period of time, also are they still making that dose of water pill now.thank you for the info. ## Have you discussed this with your doctor? Only you and your doctor can decide what medication and for how long, is safe for you. There can be risks associated with the long term use of any medication, but the risks are usually far greater if you leave a dangerous medical condition untreated. As to the specific dosage, as far as I know it is still available, but you may want to check with your pharmacy to be certain.
