How are you? There can be slight differences between generic mediations, according to the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984. So, this new one might have a little more of the active ingredient than the prior one that you were taking and thus, causing you more side effects. Diarrhea is a typical side effect of this medication, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, hypoglycemia and flatulence. Have you consulted your doctor?
I just started Metformin HCL ER 500 MG tablets this week. I have been taking one a day for this week and then will start taking two a day. I have been diagnosed with Hyperinsulinemia. I have been tired for going on 2 years now and have been begging someone to figure out why. I know it has only been a few days so I'm not expecting a miracle right away but just wondering how long it might take for me to start feeling a little better? I decided on my own to begin with one a day for a week and build up to 2 a day after reading many articles that it can be hard on your stomach. I am just so tired of being tired all the time! ## Hello, Melonie! How are you? Once you're taking the prescribed dose, it will likely take a couple weeks, before you begin to see results. My dad has been taking tablets that are a combination of Glimepiride + Metformin HCI. Is it possible that he shift to taking just Metformin HCI (of the same dosage)? or is it also possible that the two substances: Glimepiride and Metformin HCI be taken separately (one pill for Glimepiride and another pill for Metformin HCI)? ## I take them separate 1000 mg Metformin twice a day and Glimepiride 2mg before meals.

I take Metformin 500 mg twice a day.Recently I have noticed that the pills are in my stool not digested.I have noticed my glucoses are not stable. What could be causing this and does anyone else experience this. ## Hello, Linda! How are you doing? Are there any markings on the tablets that you're taking? Are they by chance time released ones? If so, then what you are seeing in your stool is just the outer shell. It isn't intended to be digested, but the medication is released and used by your body. The FDA lists this as an oral antidiabetic medication and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, stomach pain and hypoglycemia. What have your numbers been? ## The writing on my 500 mg. tablets is IP 178 are these the time released ones?

Updated in MetforminI got a prescription Metanx, it was capsules for it and they wanted $400 for 90 day supply 2x a day at Wegman's Rx, insurance won't pay as it is high tech vitamins so I asked about a manufacturer's coupon and they found L-methyl-B6-B12 in generic made by Virtus Pharmacy, they had to order it and it came in the following day by 3:00 p.m. think name was Folbic but not sure, that was $238 for 90 day supply 2x day. The pharmacist was shocked at the price of the "B vitamins". Just started today so will let you know how well it works in a couple months. ## Hi snowy, As someone who's tried several different vitamin products over the past 5 years, I never knew B-vitamins could be so expensive either Lol. $238 sounds a bit unfair, especially since Metanx doesn't appea...

UpdatedMy neurologist was helping me with a minor stroke workup. As an afterthought, I said "I'm sure you can do nothing for my pedal neuropathy," and turned to leave his office. He replied, "Pedal neuropathy? I can help you with that." He gave me a telephone number, apparently the one to PamLab. They sent me a 90-day supply for $238. Having suffered the ol' numb foot, increasingly tweaked by pains, for the last 11 years, I figured I'd give it a try. Well, by golly, just three weeks into taking these two-a-day capsules, I have improved considerably, to the point where I can again walk about in my yard in bare feet. And I go sock-footedly about the house again. I'm just amazed my GP doesn't know about Metanx. ## Hello, Kitster! How are you? I'm very glad ...
I have some white oblong white tablets scored on one side and printed M525 on the other. I believe these are Ascend Labs Metformin HCL ER 500 mg tablets from a couple of months ago that I didnt finish up when I got my refill prescription. They also could be a different brand that the pharmacy used to fill my prescription. ## These tablets are manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they list them as containing 120mgs of Diltiazem. The FDA classifies this medication as a calcium channel blocker that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?
metformin smells ## Yes, Metformin is well known to have an odor and it can vary, somewhat, from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some of them seem to smell like old fish and others like dirty sweaty socks. It really doesn't make it a very appealing medication to use and it has so nauseated some people, that they were forced to quit using it. The odor is especially prominent in the new instant release versions of the medication. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## My Metformin has a distinct grape smell. Its not unpleasant at all *smiles ## That's good to know because mine smells and tastes like grape also. I was concerned that the drug had been altered accidentally in some way. I really like the grape taste compared to what is was before!!
My mother is a diabetic 2 can she take Rumoquin for the swelling of her hands? ## Hello, Mari! How is your mother doing? I'd not recommend it. Rumoquin is a medication from Mexico and the FDA lists one of the ingredients as being the steroid Dexamethasone, which can elevate blood sugar levels, so it may not be safe for a diabetic to take. The other listed ingredients are the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory Diclofenac and the muscle relaxant Methocarbamol. Typical side effects may also include nausea, dizziness, weight gain, acne, dry mouth and headache. it would be safest for her to see her doctor and have them prescribe something. Is there anything else I can help with?
is watson 450 White pill a generic vicoden? 7.5 mg.? ## Hello, Bj! How are you? Is the marking possibly WATSON 460? Can you please double check? If so, the tablet is listed by Watson Pharmaceuticals as containing 5mgs of Glipizide, which is an oral antidiabetic medication that's used to help lower and control blood sugar. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea and hypoglycemia.
Should I stop taking byetta while I am taking amox clav 875 mg? ## Hi Jane, Upon looking up drug interactions, I haven't come across any discrepancies listed between Amoxicillin clavulanate potassium and Byetta (Exenatide). So based off this intel alone, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to take the two together unless instructed otherwise by your doctor. Having said that, it sounds like you'd be fine, but I'd also encourage you to double check with your doctor first just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps!
