This is my personal experience through 6 months. ## Which medication can be used in case of Insulin Sensitive PCOS? ## I'm just of 16.. n I'm suffering from PCOS.. I'm taking YCYST-D.. Does this medicine help loose weight while trying to control my diabetes. I have like a burning in throat and belch like acid, is this normal? ## Hello, Wanda! How are you? By improving control of your blood sugar and your insulin resistance, you may experience some weight loss, but you will still have to eat healthy and get plenty of proper exercise. The FDA classifies this as an oral antidiabetic medication and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, flatulence, headache, stomach pain and hypoglycemia. So yes, the acidity is normal, as well. Is there anything else I can help with?

please tell if this is the same as metanx will it help and how much do it cost ## Hello, Grace! How are you? No, from what I'm seeing listed by the FDA, they are not the same. Folinic is a folic acid supplement, while Metanx contains more nutrients, including the B vitamins. I'm sorry, but I don't have a price to quote you, either. The best way to get prices would be by contacting your pharmacy. Since some of these supplements are potent, they cause nausea, in some people that take them. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi, I'm from Malaysia. I have hypertension and diabetes and have been on medication since April 2014. Ever since i started the medication, (Metformin 500mg + Amlodipine 10mg), my periods have been irregular. until last November, my period did not come at all. I spoke to my doctor about this and he said the cause may be my medication as stated above. I waited until my period came on 9th Feb and it never stopped since (36 days). The flow is heavy with clots, bright red. I went to my doctor again, and he did nothing, asked me to wait till it clears before he can do further diagnostics. Worried of my condition, I went to a local clinic and the doctor gave me Duphaston 10mg + Pontalon 500mg to take for the next 5 days. May i please know whether this is the right way to treat what I'm...

Hello, my sugar level had been 25.8 last week in the morning before eating anything, and my doctor said that i am diabetic, however he has made me do some test and waiting for my report, he has given me Gemer 2 twice a day at an interval of 12 hr from the first use, however I asked him if i can take it after meals as it would have been difficult for me to have them before meals, he agreed to it and advised me to take it 30 mins after my meal, and currently my sugar level in the morning before eating is 11.5, wanted to confirm if this is fine and is there any need to change anything. Thanks

what is the difference between metformin and metformin SA ## Hello, Gary! How are you? The SA stands for sustained action, it's just another way to designating it as being a time released formulation of the medication. The FDA classifies Metformin as being an oral antidiabetic medication and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, diarrhea and hypoglycemia. Is there anything else I can help with?

Diabetic since 2002. Below is the medicine I started using from Jan 2009 to date. My sugar levels are under control even though I'm not following proper diet and exercise. 1. Galvas 50/800 - Afternoon 2. Trivolib 1mg - morning and night 3. Polytrova Kit 2.5mg - night Recently I experienced skin itching and neglected it because of the winter season. But after going through the side effects of the medicine I found that this is a one of the side effects. Now I also had the following symptoms: 1. knee pain 2. itching 3. Gas 4. B12 deficiancy along with Vitamin D and Iron. I am supposed to meet my Doctor for advice. However please let us know your suggestion as well. I would like to mention that I stopped taking medicine for a week and found results are normal.

I am 80yrs old. Have been prescribed Banocide Forte 100mg 3 times a day for increased swelling for old filariasis. Does the medication bring down the swelling in the left foot? How many days should I continue treatment? Does it produce any side effects? I am a diabetic and am regularly on insulin. ## Banocide Forte contains the active ingredient Diethylcarbamazine, it is an antihelmintic, so it is intended to eradicate the filariasis, but not it won't directly work on the swelling. As to how long you should take it, you should follow whatever instructions your doctor provided. Learn more Diethylcarbamazine details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for your information given by Verwon regarding banocide forte 100mg which acts only on filariasis. I fully apprecia...

What is the name for Metformin HCL ER TAB 500mg ER in Mexico? ## I can't say for certain, but from what I could gather, Metformina (Glucophage XR) is the correct name for this in Mexico. Are you trying to order it online? ## Similar to your other question, once again, I have to advise you that it's best to just ask for the generic. The regulation of medications in Mexico is very sketchy, at best, so what may be available as a brand name for it today might not exist tomorrow and etc. However, the Spanish names that they use for the generic/active ingredient are usually very similar to what we use in the U.S. and that should enable you to find what you need. I've been on Metformin for several years and done well. Recently I refilled the script and the pharmacy had changed suppliers to aurobindo. The pills smelled like rotting fish but I managed to take it. My blood sugar was running higher on this med. the next refill smelled and tasted so strong I could hardly take the pills. I developed horrible nausea and severe diarrhea and lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. Since my pharmacy refused to order the drug from a different manufacturer I changed to Walgreens who did not use aurobindo and immediately the symptoms were gone. I question the quality control of that manufacturer and worry about using drugs from many foreign countries. I am willing to pay more to feel that the drugs are safe!!! ## Hello, Maggie! How are you? Sorry about the problem that ...

I have noticed the poor fasting test numbers that I am experiencing with the Glibizide 5mg extended release and the metformin 500 extended release. a1c numbers now at 7.5 from 6.4.. Is this normal with extended release meds and blood sugar testing results? ## Hello, Tony! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. No, usually the controlled release medications give you better control over your blood sugar. Has anything else changed, such as changing your diet? Are you on any other medications? Has your activity level changed? The FDA classifies these as being oral antidiabetic medications and their typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, flatulence and hypoglycemia.

Have taken this brand for 2 years with no problems but last refill was told pharmacy can't get it anymore. Tried Teva and have stomach issues, anxiety and palpitations. Tried Solco and felt horrid. Is Sandoz not making met anymore? ## Hello, JJ! How are you? Apparently, there is a shortage of the raw ingredients required to manufactured Metformin, so some manufacturers have been unable to maintain and distribute a supply. The situation is expected to resolve, but there's no way of knowing for sure when it will occur. Have you tried the name brand? You might want to ask your doctor about writing for it, so you can't be given a generic, at least while this issue continues. Taking Januvia for years. Developed severe itching my dermatologist said stop taking it. How long till itching stops. ## If you were on it for that long, it may take a month or so, for the side effects to fully wear off and for your body to settle down and return to normal. Since it is used to treat diabetes, have you replaced it with anything else? You can't just stop a medication like this, since you still need to control your blood sugar. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, flatulence and hypoglycemia.

My AC1 level went from 5.8 to 6.0 to 6.4 every six months and my Doctor stated i was pre diabetic. I researched my medication and found that HCTZ causes AC! levels to rise. I told my doctor and she disagreed. I asked that I be taken off HCTZ for 3 months and see what my AC1 level was. She agreed and yesterday my test results was ONE full point lower 5.4 versus 6.4. I am awaitng a response from my Doctor. Not everyone is the same but if you are on HCTZ and your AC1 level begins to increase I suggest to stop it for 3 months and see if your results are the same. ## Hello, Jim! How are you? Very smart of you to do the research on your own. Your doctor should do some more checking, because the research is out there showing that the Thiazide diuretics, such as this one, can cause that in some...
