New Metformin Patient

I just started Metformin HCL ER 500 MG tablets this week. I have been taking one a day for this week and then will start taking two a day. I have been diagnosed with Hyperinsulinemia. I have been tired for going on 2 years now and have been begging someone to figure out why. I know it has only been a few days so I'm not expecting a miracle right away but just wondering how long it might take for me to start feeling a little better? I decided on my own to begin with one a day for a week and build up to 2 a day after reading many articles that it can be hard on your stomach. I am just so tired of being tired all the time!

Once you're taking the prescribed dose, it will likely take a couple weeks, before you begin to see results. This medication does have some immediate effect, but won't reach its full level of efficacy, until you've taken it for about 4 weeks.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, flatulence and hypoglycemia.
