Dbx-13 Scam (Page 8)

Updated

In January 2013 - I recently purchased a subscription to the Health Sciences Institute (HSI) newsletter and got the book "Miracles from the Vault." I scoured the pages to find DBX-13 which they advertised as the diabetes miracle cure, and couldn't find it anywhere. I called HSI, and after three attempts and by threatening to take them to court for false advertising, a response finally came by email. DBX-13 is called X-Cravings. But get this... it is no longer being manufactured. X-Cravings appears to be a formula to help you stop craving food... a diet product... and I guess they apparently felt this would help you lose weight which would help your diabetes. I placed a call to the manufacturer of X-Cravings, Nutricology. Tel: (800)545-9960 who claims they don't know that X-Cravings was called DBX-13 by HSI, and they said they discontinued X-Cravings last year (2013). They also don't have a replacement product for it either. I hate when companies like HSI scam you by offering you hope that doesn't exist, which is why I am posting this information.

If you lost 2-2 1/2 points on your A1c each of your last 3 checkups, that would be a total of 6-7 1/2 points which would put most people into a dangerously low blood sugar
range which makes your story sound phony.

Post 141, Beetle: It may have been phony. I couldn't get my comment to post, because the board kept asking me for more. So I finally quoted him (forgetting to put quote marks) and put my comment below. The bottom paragraph is mine, not the top one. Sorryl.

HSI's Jenny Thompson's advertisement also mentions BMP's for arthritis pain, Nitric Oxide for high blood pressure, and Policosanol(sp) to battle high cholesterol(LDL). I'm searching online for any info on these too and I will post what info I find. Thanks for the heads-up on HSI and it's bogus DBX-13.

I got HSI's book this year, and Jenny recommends two products for type II diabetes, Berberine and GlucoComplete. Both work well. And you must also watch you diet by eliminating most carbs, and for the most part getting your carbs only from leafy greens high in potassium. I don't like Beet Greens, or Swiss Chard, and am not a fan of Kale, and found Bok Choy to be very tasty. Dr. Berg has said to eat 4700mg a day of this to reverse you insulin resistance, and I have found with the Berberine and GlucoComplete that you can get by on less. Anyway, I no longer take any medications, my A1C is at 5.5, and my type II is in complete remission. So who needs DBX-13, and yes, you can still trust Jenny. She saved my life with the Berberine, or the GlucoComplete. Just saying........

-Ken.

You can download the book. In fact, almost any book you get told about through these types of commercials are actually posted somewhere on the internet and shared. They are often part of the group of writings called public license.

No reason to buy anything just to read a book.

Wish you would give more detail about your cinnamon and lady finger (okra) remedies, or maybe a link. Thanks!

please understand- you can NOT eat NO carbs- it isn't healthy. you need at least 60 carbs a day. yes it should come from healthy veggies. you should also skip the fat from meat- which is not healthy for you. lean meat is best.

a real recipe for disaster is having too strict of a diet. you need to allow yourself something off your diet at least once a week - but a very tiny amount. my doctor suggested a peanut-butter cheese cracker.

but before you think you can eliminate carbs from your diet, please be aware of the dangers. and remember it is not a diet- it is a life change. if you can change your eating habits, you can gain control.

don't think for an instant that you can diet for a week or two and then eat anything you want. even with supplements you can't. what i do is go ahead and purchase the things i would love to eat, cut them into bite sizes, and then freeze them. they are each put in a sandwich bag, then in a big bag. meanwhile i focus on fruit and veggies and slushes made from them. if i find myself absolutely craving, i take one bite from the bag. often by the time it defrosts, most of the craving has passed.

if i am still craving, then i allow myself that one bite- and i do take my bolus to cover it.

the one thing i do not do is force myself to live on less than 60 - 64 carbs a day. however, that even takes discipline. it is easy to go over in just two meals.

Axne, I would really like to know how much, if any, your diet has helped your A1c.
My sugar is highest when I first get up in the morning. Sometimes makes me wonder if stress has more to do with it than carbs.
Thanks.

not so fast. actually, the best a1c range is about 6. if he were say 14 and lost between 2 to 2 and 1/2 points each time for three tests, then i would say he is now in the perfect range. what he didn't do is tell us how high he was to start. i think losing between 6 and 8 points is awesome

Had assumed that few people had an A1c level that high, and that if they did they wouldn't be using this discussion forum for nonprofessional advice.
All I asked for was how much your A1C had dropped because of your diet.
Thanks

Did you just eat okra in any form and how much, how often. Also how much lemon and cinnamon and in what form? I'd really appreciate more information. Thanks for your input!

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I was ready to try this, but because I read your post, I quickly decided to not order this...

There are so many scams on ths web that it is so hard to believe what is true and what is a lie...

Thank you again...

I am glad l read your experience about DBX-13 because l was ready to join HSI. Thank you for your honesty. I guess the government don't want to see any natural cure for anything. That wouldn't be good for the pharmaceutical business, that's why they won't let any one come up with a nutural cure for anything.

I'm not positive, but I believe pharmaceutical companies do sometimes use natural ingredients in certain pills. If that is true, then I would believe that at least 1 of the companies, (if not all) would create a product containing "gurmar" to fight diabetes and at the same time make lots of money. I think that will be a win-win situation. Also, if I'm mistaken about that, my other thought is why doesn't another (non pharmaceutical-non FDA approved) company make the product? They might have a lot less red tape, lobbying, restrictions and liabilities than a big name pharmacy.

I have been taking Gymnema Sylvestre for about two years. It is most certainly a "sugar killer" pill. I take the Source Naturals 450 mg two times a day. Along with this I take 1000 mcg of Chromium 1X/day. It helps reduce cell resistance to insulin. I also take 500 mg of cinnamon 2X a day (morning and evening meals). For my numb feet (no longer numb) and tingly legs (just barely tingly now) I take Cayenne Pepper (40,000 HU) 2X a day (again, one pill with breakfast and 1 pill with dinner).

My A1C has dropped from 12% to 5.5% over the last 5 years. Whether this regimen would work with you is anyone's guess.

how did you blend the three ingredients: cinnamon, okra and bitter melon? did you cook them together, are they in pill form?

The three ingredients you mention, okra, bitter melon and cinnamon can all be found in caplet form. I usually buy whatever supplements I take from Amazon or other health supplement sites such as Swanson or iHerb. If you Google the supplement you are looking for and add the word "caplet" or "pill" you usually find what you are looking for. I always try to read the reviews as well before I buy. There are some honest folks out there that will give you good information.

Good luck with your quest for better health!

Thank you so very much. I was just online last night seriously considering ordering this program, but something told me to check it out. I also have type 2 diabetes and always looking for something to get off of medications. I know losing weight would help, but it's so darn difficult. Again, thanks for your input.
