In January 2013 - I recently purchased a subscription to the Health Sciences Institute (HSI) newsletter and got the book "Miracles from the Vault." I scoured the pages to find DBX-13 which they advertised as the diabetes miracle cure, and couldn't find it anywhere. I called HSI, and after three attempts and by threatening to take them to court for false advertising, a response finally came by email. DBX-13 is called X-Cravings. But get this... it is no longer being manufactured. X-Cravings appears to be a formula to help you stop craving food... a diet product... and I guess they apparently felt this would help you lose weight which would help your diabetes. I placed a call to the manufacturer of X-Cravings, Nutricology. Tel: (800)545-9960 who claims they don't know that X-Cravings was called DBX-13 by HSI, and they said they discontinued X-Cravings last year (2013). They also don't have a replacement product for it either. I hate when companies like HSI scam you by offering you hope that doesn't exist, which is why I am posting this information.

U guys, uve GOT TO GET OFF THE COUCH AND OUTTA DA DANG BED!! Lol. I'm not trying to be mean, I know how it is. But there just is no easy way to lose weight, if ur a foodie with diabetes. You've got to move man. Think of your body as a bank. Right? Read the serving size and calorie count and how many servings r in the package of food ur about to eat. If your over weight, I'm talking big, you have to reduce ur calories. Period. U can't eat more than 1200-1500 calories a day for women. About 1700-2000 a day for men. If u r putting more than that in the bank (ur body) and not making a withdrawal (exercise), you'll gain weight. U guys that r steadily gaining a pound or two a week and u know who u is, are eating at least 3500 calories one day a week. 3500 cals comes up as ONE POUND ON THE SCALE!!!! Take up knitting. I have a guy friend who took up knitting for stress reduction. Well dude lost a bunch of weight. Of course all his buddies ribbed him about his knitting needles. Lol. But dude is 75 lbs thinner and still going. Plus he's makes fanfreekingtastic sweaters, hats and mittens. Big mans man with golden knitting needles. Grab a book. Write book. Listen to your book on tape while ur stepping in place in ur room. Better yet go for a walk. If ur addicted to TV, then walk in place during the commercials. Work up to switching this around to walking in place during the show and resting on commercials. Go for a walk every time u want to eat. Not to the fridge or donut shop neitha. Call a friend. Go to an over eaters meetings. Be honest. These are all my tricks. For free man!! They work!! Just MOVE UR BODY. LOSE THE WEIGHT AND THE BLOOD SUGAR TAKES CARE OF ITSELF. It will slowly start dropping. DO IT DO IT DO IT!! YOU CAN DO IT. YOU ARE AN ADDICT. ADDRESS THE ISSUE. Don't be ashamed. All of us got at least one addiction. It's a scientific fact. Proven over and over and over and over and over and over that u got to spend those extra calories u eat. Or don't eat them. get it?? Now if ur just 10-20 lbs overweight u can cut a few more calories and or exercise more. Both is best. Good luck everyone. Go go go go. No book is going to tell u anything different than what I just told y'all. No pill is going to fix u without side effects. The the minute u get off the pill u get fatter. Dooooo it.

The message was such an obvious scam, going on and on tempting you to read more and get excited, that I immediately picked out the DBX-13 and Googled it, which confirmed it of course. Sadly these things can stay on the Internet for years and people continue to bite on them!

I have made my mind up that all the Diabetes guides, programs... that are sold are all scams. There is so much money to be made, having people pay for the PDF's, potions, supplements... All the guides basically say the same thing, that is true, is that, to control diabetes we need to exercise and diet (a lifestyle change). All the other stuff is a bunch of bull. I'm sure that big pharma has a hand in providing numerous PDF's, guides, books and supplements. They want you to stay on the meds and be diabetic as long as you can still pay. It is correct, there is NO $$$ in a cure. Remember that you can great by following a good workout plan, diet and eventually get off all your meds but we will always be pre-diabetic. In other words, if we go back to our old ways we also bring back what came with it.

So, what has worked for me and is a change I can live with is:

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) for 20 min at least 3 times a week. After each meal (immediately go for a 20 min walk to burn the sugars as much as possible. This way when you take your reading, it will be lower.

Eating and drinking 75% greens with Salmon (your choice) or chicken. A good protein like eggs for breakfast. Eat something good like almonds or celery with almond butter for snacks. The idea is to munch every 2 hours on something to keep your metabolism running. The biggest meal being breakfast, never, never skip it. Drink a glass of cold water in the morning then hot and cold drinks throughout the day. Drinking a glass of water with 2 tsp. of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) in water or man/women up and take it straight 15 min before and after eating will slowly lower your readings. Almonds B4 a meal reduces readings by up to 30%. Also if you drink the ACV B4 bed your fasting glucose readings will be much lower as well.

It seems your a credit to us all. You stand out from the crowds so to speak, give that your so highly intelligent, it makes one humble being in your vicinity - albeit online. I would highly commend you to all and sundry, had there been an award for your just cause. Well done, and thank you again for finding time to belt out your valued opinions.

Incidentally, a bit of advice. Try lowering your medications.

I just got HSI Miracles From the Vault. I am type 2 diabetic and found the section about Syntra5 on pg. 294. The researcher has 30, 2 min videos all about diabetes. If your looking for no change in your diet your fooling yourself. Its all about what you put in your mouth. I love Syntra5, its working great for me as I have been on a lot of insulin for over 15 yrs. I am reducing my insulin now considerably on a weekly basic. Just a side note about my Dad had kidney stones, did the KGP flush on pg.13 took care of his kidney stones. We are all different so not everything works the same.

I know what that guy is taking about with the bitter melon. It works for me and many other people. I was on metformin and switched to bitter melon only. I didn't tell my doctor because everyone I tell in the medical industry won't listen. You can buy it on the internet from Swanson pharmaceutical. I am in Canada and get it delivered for less than 10 Canadian dollars.

She was stating that she is using okra (also called lady fingers) and bitter melon which she said are vegetables. I just watched some videos last night which also touts the advantage of okra and "okra water" made by soaking some of the vegetable in water overnight.

Magical cures for cancer have been around for many decades. They are advertised as NATURAL, SIMPLE, NO SIDE EFFECTS, and always they say BIG PHARMA DOES NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THIS MAGIC CURE. If there were such a drug, Big Pharma would have produced it and sold it and made billions of dollars. The biology of different tumors, diabetes mellitus and other serious afflictions are not identical. It makes no sense that one drug can treat all cancers and diabetes.

Similar claims have been made by others over the years that only one miracle antibiotic is necessary to treat all infections. Again one must wonder why pharmaceutical companies don't produce this antibiotic.
