Has anyone stopped feeling withdrawal symptoms after quitting Cymbalta? If you're considering starting this medication, don't! It's a narcotic. There are better non-narcotic meds. ## How long have you been withdrawing after 60 hours last dose? ## Cymbalta is not a narcotic. Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and if you've been taking it for awhile, it is normal to feel some withdrawal effects if you stop abruptly, because of the way it acts on brain chemicals. Learn more Cymbalta details here. Normally, these medications should be stopped via a slow taper to prevent the worst of these effects. But if you do stop suddenly and have been taking it for a year or more, then it can take over a month for your brain chemicals to b...

I take Cymbalta 30 mg for the Adrenalin, to treat and control My A/D which I was diagnosed with in 2007, I began taking it mid 2010, and today, 34 months later I am still alive and quite able to live a normal lifestyle once again ....so I now feel that my confidence in Adrenalin has been vindicated... I have a prescription for Cymbalta thats about 6yrs old...will the pills still work? ## At this point, you should really just properly dispose of them. Once they are removed from the original factory sealed bottle, tablets and capsules have a one year expiration date, because they are then exposed to the elements, which hastens degradation. This means that they lose effectiveness over time, thus after this many years, they are most likely worthless. Learn more Cymbalta details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

It has been working quite well for me HOWEVER... if I miss a dose or even take it later in the day than I should...LOOK OUT! I've had horrible side effect and symthoms such as: Dizzy-Swirly feeling in my head, Extreme fatigue, Depressed thoughts and emotions and that's just to name a few! I am posting this just as an FYI in case there is anyone else out there experiencing the same thing. ## Have been on it for a few years now. Have been out for 5 days now and are currently experiencing similar side effects. Difficulty with swirling head and extreme dizziness. Very emotional, however nothing in a depression catagory. and I would like to k planet helps people without insurance like planet helps people without insurance like my cymbalta does ## @vonda, There doesn't appear to be any medication by the name of Merplex. Mirapex (pramipexole) is the closest name I could find, if that's what you're referring to? I was also hoping that you'd be able to clarify what "K Planet" is? I went so far as to try and Google various manufacturers/insurance companies by that name, but have yet to come across anything relevant to this topic. Please post back if you have any additional information to add so that I or someone else may be of better help!

I had to share what I am going through trying to ween off cymbalta. I was put on 30 mg which is half my dose for 1 week. It has been 2 days since I have taken it and had no choice today but to take a 60mg. I am literally ill. I am suffering horribly with terrible vertigo, brain zaps, buzzing in my ears, wretched nausea, headache, sour stomach. This is utter torture. Please be aware how hard it is to get off this medication, make a conscious decision before committing to it. I have taken at least 8 of the anti depressants on the market in my life and have never had an issue weening and stopping them completely. I am a 39 year old busy wife and mother of three and I am having a bad time coping with this feeling. I'm scared and I feel like I'm all out of sorts. In a nutshell this m...

I have been taking Cymbalta for 2 months now. I was extremely nauseous for one week on 30 mg. I waited a few weeks and then upped my dose to 60 mg. I keep waiting for the nausea to go away. I am almost at 2 months now, and I get nauseous (not severe, but really yucky) at least 2X per day. I have to take an anti nausea drug to stop it. Has anyone else been nauseous for a long period of time on this drug? Did it ever go away? ## Are you saying you're getting the nausea, even at other times and not just when you take it? If so, then I'm suspicious that it may not be from the Cymbalta. I mean it's possible, because there's no way to say how a medication will affect any particular person that takes it, but it's not common. These types of medications usually only cause nau...

Hey guys, day two into cymbalta 30g for depression. When I yawn my eyes force shut and I get a tightness around my chest and shoulders. I have a pain in the tummy. And I feel like I'm twitching my hands and chest but when I look I'm not. Is it normal? ## Please be careful on this medication. It takes away all anxiety and inhibitions. It can make you do and say things you wouldn't ordinarily. It also makes you crave alcohol, and can intensify alcohol affect tremendously. I was on 60 mg for 9 months. I kept telling my doc I didn't feel like myself. He insisted I stay on it. My personality completely changed, my relationship with my husband and daughters suffered and I didn't care. If my daughter was out late....I didn't worry. I stopped worrying about consequences....

What will happen if my capsule breaks open before I swallow it? ## Do you mean it's breaking open in your mouth, before you have a chance to swallow it? If that is what's happening, then you actually aren't taking it properly. Rather than letting it sit in the moist environment of your mouth long enough for your saliva to start dissolving the capsule, it should be placed as far back in your mouth, as possible. Such as towards the back of the tongue, at the very top of the throat, just far enough so you don't gag or choke on it and then swallowed with a full 8 ounce glass of water immediately. round ## Cymbalta is an antidepressant. And, I understand that it is very hard to come off of. ## Yes, Cymbalta is an SNRI antidepressant that contains the active ingredient Duloxetine. And another yes in regards to it possibly being hard to come off of, but that is actually true of almost any medication that has an effect on brain chemicals. On top of the milder withdrawal symptoms that can occur if you stop taking it abruptly, it may also cause rebound effects, which could result in symptoms that are worse than those which required someone to start being treated with it. Are there any other questions? You can learn more Cymbalta details here.

Wow! I had NO idea what I was in for with this medication. If anything is too good to be true... it usually is! I started this medication back in September for fibromyalgia symptoms. It was like a miracle. The day after I took it, I woke up almost pain-free and without the "fibro-fog" I had had for the past 10 years. Well, to make a long story short, I joined a gym recently, and began thinking more of the holistic approach to pain management. The side effects of Cymbalta, although I have never experienced any of them except the difficulty sleeping, scared me (especially the liver damage). I had already decided to stop Cymbalta, when my lovely insurance company decided it didn't want to cover it anymore and I would have to pay $200 a month if I wanted to continue it. Well, to ...

Hi all, so it's 5am and I'm wide awake.. last Tuesday I ran out of my tablets (Cymbalta 30mgs) I tried calling my Drs to be told that she wasnt able to see me till this week,so I did something stupid and stopped taking the tablets, by Thursday at work I was starting to get very dizzy and put it down to my sugar levels being low, Friday I was unable to go to work because I couldnt get out of bed! I was so tired! but I kept checking my sugars and thinking what's going on? Saturday night came around and I felt like I couldnt even concentrate, My pupils were tiny! It finally clicked that maybe I'm having side effects from stopping the Cymbalta.. I ended up going to the ER to get a script.. Now one tablet in and I am so awake and feeling very strange.. taking cymbalta and having terrible nightmares.is this a side effect? ## I have had depression for as long as I can remember, I'm 29. I've been on Celexa for about 3 years now and it has helped a lot, but for the past 2 weeks its gotten really bad. And to top it all off i've been having horrible nightmares, which make me feel worst. the dreams are so vivid and scary. Does it have anything to do with my depression?? ## Have either one of you consulted your doctors? The nightmares could be related to the medication, the depression, or both and only a doctor will be able to help you determine that. Sakura, your body can get used to any medication that you take for a long period of time and this means the current dosage may lose its effectiveness. You may require a dosage adjust...

I have been on oxy 10 mg 3 times a day for three years. The doctor would like me to get off of oxy and try something else. I tried topiamate but it was making me hateful and tired. My husband told me to quit taking it, as I was not myself. I take effexior already, should I ask for Celebrex or cymbalta when I see him. I have severe pain throughout my body, neck and hip especially. I do not want to gain weight at all would rather lose 10 pounds. I have to see ## None of them are likely to be as effective as the Oxycodone, though I do understand why he wants you to try something else. Of the two that you mentioned, the Celebrex is the least likely to cause weight gain. Learn more Celebrex details here. Are those the only choices he gave you?

I have been on anti depressants for some 11 months, first on Lexapro and for about 4 months on Cymbalta. My word, Cymbalta are so much better FOR ME! Yes I get the insomnia but have found taking Phenergan helpful, taking 25mg probably most nights. I can work well, do gym walking, and to be honest, function quite normally. My anxiety levels go out of whack, say once a fortnight, usually lasts a day but with the support of my wife, and friends it passes quickly. Just call people up, be honest how you feeling and the ones who really care and understand will help you through that day. The most helpful source of hope for me? Reading the Bible and knowing that we have a hope in Jesus Christ. ## Thanks for taking the time to share your experience on Cymbalta and Phenergan. I'm sure many pe...

I started taking cymbalta about 1 month ago at first I had frequent and painful urininating. Now I have a yellow tongue. I am feeling pretty good. Just wondering if anyone else has a yellow tongue. ## No, that's not a listed side effect of Cymbalta. However, it can cause dry mouth, which means that the yellow tongue may be caused by food or beverage bacteria remaining on your tongue, or you may have developed an oral yeast infection. my husband has been on Cymbalta for almost a month now, his depression is getting better even though he still has his highs and lows. The only complaint he has is the bitter aftertaste that is with him always, has anyone experienced this and know of anyway to get rid of it? ## That's not listed as a common side effect of the medication. Learn more Cymbalta details here. However, if he's letting it sit on his tongue for a few seconds, before swallowing it down, then it may be starting to dissolve, which could explain the issue. In that case, he needs to place it as far back in his mouth as he can, towards or in his throat and swallow it immediately with a full glass of water. Learn more Cymbalta details here. Alternatively, it can cause dry mouth as a side effect, so that could als...
