Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 10)

Updated

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

Thank you

Re: Sandh (# 180) Expand Referenced Message

Hi sandh. I don't think it's permanent. I hope not anyway. I can mildly get drunk, still get brain fog sometimes, but getting better with time. It's a terrible drug. 376 days off now. I hope the dopamine receptors come back online soon. It's a slow process. Are you getting any better?

Hi jhonny,

Not much improvements, yet I'm close to 8 months. I read few people saying they are not the same person anymore, it's sad. Get off mirtazapine, antidepressants cause brain damage!

Guys,

I used to take Invega Sustenna back in 2014-2015. 10 shots of 100mg.

I suffered severe anhedonia, loss of libido, it was pure hell. Couldn't move or exercise, slept 18 hours a day.

Today I am fully back to normal, 100%.

Don't give up brothers and sisters, it takes about 8 months after the last shot to start feeling better.

Hi mima. How did you know your son's dopamine was back? Can you get a blood test for it? How is your son now?

Did the medication change you or your personality, are you still the same person? Can a person recover in 1 year or does it take maybe a year and half? I only had 4 shots & I'm 8 months off. Thanks.

Re: Sandh (# 180) Expand Referenced Message

I wouldn't doubt it but I notice the niacin calm her down and put her in a better mood 250 mg is what she's on daily but sometimes twice a day just depends on how bad things are niacin is good for the nervous system and energy production plus it curves the schizophrenia but she does continue to talk to the voices but calmly and quietly sometimes she gets into this cleaning mode and wants to clean the whole house and then there's days where she wants to throw all her belongings and mine in the trash this last about 20/30 min before taking the niacin but overall she's always pasting around the house very Ansey can't sit still but overall does OK throughout the day just have to watch what she throws in the trash

Re: Ruth (# 188) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Ruth, I'm gonna start taking niacin, there's a book on niacin by dr abram hoffer you should read it.. that's good you only have her on 250 to 500 mg daily ... but with time increase it to cure schizophrenia
Dr abram hoffer recommended around 3000 daily.
I'm doing better but not too great, I loved dark chocolates and I used to get so happy after consuming chocolate preinvega. But now I don't get the same feeling, or get hyper
I'm trying to do the things I used to like, but I don't get the same joy
Jus getting through each day
Hope things change and I'm 100% soon

Never lose hope :) just not a good time for us going through this but we will get through it, please don't put her back on meds
Stick with niacin and vitamin c
Around Christmas I will be 9 months off, 2017 wut a nightmare it was
I'm glad I'm away at home from the reach of these doctors, they inject people with these strong drugs like they are giving out candies to kids, I feel bad for people on these invega injections for years. There's probably thousands of them out there or even more

Re: Ruth (# 195) Expand Referenced Message

That's amazing, for 3/4 days i only had vitamin c once a day and I felt a lot anxiety today I had 2 times a day, feeling better. Once I recover I'm going to take vitamin c and niacin for preventive measures I'll make sure I never have this experience ever again in my life

It's going to take until summertime to get better if at all and I still don't know if I'll be 100%, or close. This is how bad these drugs affected me and it doesn't help to live with my parents.

Re: Ruth (# 198) Expand Referenced Message

I'm doing ok, thanks. I do intermittent fasting everyday, fasting is good for the brain. I fast for 20 hours everyday and eat my food in 4 hours window, pretty much I eat once a day. I can't pay attention to my diet like before but I try to eat clean. I drink 4 and half litres of water a day... I do water therapy where I drink 2 litres of water every morning after waking up and then I wait an hour and a half to have my food. I also supplement with probiotics, zinc, magnesium, copper, selenium, biofolate, vitamin e, & omega oil. I'm functioning fine now tho I stay awake at night, and sleep in until the evening. It's a struggle. Vitamin c is helping, I might start going to the gym so I can socialize.
