Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 11)

Updated

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

Thank you

Some people are not improving even after a year off, that's depressing. I will be a year off in 4 months. Do people ever recover from this? Ruth, do you know any success stories of people recovering?

Anyone ever recovered from this nightmare? I see no hope even at a year off. Who invented these drugs? No humanity. The people can be treated with vitamin b, simple, but no they are inj. people with this these shots putting people on antidepressants, antipsychotics. 8 months is a long time, and here I've been off for that long, yet no improvement. My memory is so bad I don't remember who I was as a person and what I stood for in life. Please, someone, tell me it's going to be alright. My parents aren't helpful, they don't realize what I'm going through and they tell me I'm fine. I stay awake the whole night and go to sleep in the morning just to avoid them to make this hell easier, otherwise it would be impossible for me to get through.

Sorry Sandy I can't say I do, when my daughter started on these meds she seemed OK but when she went off cold turkey after 8 month at first she was normal mood her thinking and all she enjoyed life then just one night out of the blue this schizophrenia came about so off to the emergency room she went and to all these other Dr's that placed her back on the pycotic medicine again but this time a higher dose every sense she has been going down hill that's why I want her off of this medication completely but of course these pychatrist think they know what's best when they don't have a clue about the individual well being and what's best for them all they know to do is keep us on these meds to suposeablly manage are symtoms rather then to cure it and send us home for our loves ones to deal with the pain and suffering deal with so my theory is get to know as much as you can and try cure yourself cause nobody knows more about you then you and what your experiencing so do we want to realy on some pycotic medicine the rest of our lives feeling hopeless or try cure are self I guess everyone has to choose for themselves all I know is my daughters been struggle sense the day she was born being born early and she didn't deserve what she's been through its time for life to get better for her she's a beautiful young lady that means the world to me and I'm not given up on her she's my best friend next to god himself whom gives me all my strength to endure everything I've been dealing with so just a word of thought from me to everyone out there struggling with medicine don't put your trust in these Drs.but yourself and god himself thanks god bless

Re: Sandh (# 174) Expand Referenced Message

I'm here if you just need someone who cares. I do understand the extra stress doesn't help. My life hasn't been easy either, I've been through a lot for being 45 years old. I'm so glad I came across this website. I don't even know how I did. It must have been meant to be. Take care. You're not alone.

Re: Ruth (# 203) Expand Referenced Message

No faith in drs, they ruined so many lives, they make people zombies. We are all better off sticking with niacin and vitamin c. I think the brain needs supplements to come out of this mess. I guess i should take one month at a time until summer time. I never consented for the meds or inj's... It was my parents who signed the papers and I was forced to. We know what to do with all the information by dr abram hoffer but the thing is how undo the damage that's done. I'm sorry to hear your daughter been thru so much, she's probably feeling just like me numbed emotions and all, you're a great mom keep going, read books on orthomolecular medicine and treat her yourself rather than taking her to docs. That's what I would do if it was my daughter, or my family member. And I would do the same thing for myslef but the damage was already done by the docs by the time I found out the truth about antipsychotics drugs.

I know how to treat myself with vitamins, I don't need any docs help. But the damage done I don't know how to deal with this.

It looks like 1 and half years to recovery, I only had 3 months of meds and 4 inj's. And these drugs messed me up. Read as many books as you can on vitamins and health.

You're an amazing mum, thanks for listening to me complain... I hope your daughter recovers. Read as many books as you can about orthomolecular medicine. Just keep her on vitamin c and niacin. Treat her yourself. Docs can only damage people.

Thank you Ruth, means a lot. I'm sorry to hear that you been through so much in your life, it's probably as tough on you as it's for your daughter and as a mother it's hard to see your kid suffer. I pray that your daughter recovers and never have to do deal with the illness again. If it's alot for you to handle, why don't you see an orthomolecular doctor, he'll just put her on right dosage of vitamins I'm 31 I wish I recover from these drugs so that I can get on with my life and move out of my parents place

Re: Sandh (# 206) Expand Referenced Message

thanks your not not complaining but we all need someone to hear our voice when it comes to this medication especially those that are out there going through and don"t have a clue what there getting there self into cause these psychiatrist are not gonna tell us what we need to know they make it sound like its just a few side effects when that's not the case its a lot more damaging then what there telling us they get paid to keep us unknowledgeable about the real effects of these medicine so that they can keep us on themand make us believe that were crazy, but for me especially after what i"ve been dealing with its my pleasure to tell all that i know cause i don't want anyone going through what Im going through so dont feel like your complaining this is your life and you have the right if something not going right with you so dont give up i may not be a dr but i do know what its doing to my daughter im around her 24/7 and shes not the same and i will not give up i will fight for her to the end

She probably feels like me, memory loss, no emotions, no appetite, no imagination no thought process. That's why she doesn't seem same. I'm 31 they forced a community treatment order on me where I was forced on injections, my parents doctors made all the decision. But thankfully I convinced my parents to get me off the injections after 3 months and also cancel the CTO
Wut a horrible health care system, they didn't ask for my consent I'm 31, my opinion didn't matter to the doctors

Ruth (# 214) --

No, I had 4 inj's... My last shot was on March 30, 2017. Now I only take vitamins. I never heard voices, I wanted to move out of my parent's house and my parents called the cops, that's how I ended up in this mess.

I'm just waiting for my brain to recover from the shots and lithium, trazodone and seroquel... Once my brain recovers I will be fine, but I will keep taking vitamin c and niacin to be safe.

Sandh (# 213) --

my daughters memory is shot she remember bits and pieces of different parts of her life, she talks to voices all day the only thing that calm her down is the niacin it puts her in a calm mood her emotion are all over the place sometimes she screams at the voices, sometimes she smiles at them like there being nice to her.sometimes she speaks about very disturbing things and cusses which is something my daughter has never done, and sometimes shes happy and sometimes she cries, shes constantly doesn't recongizes stuff or thinks its against her so she will begin throwing her belongings and mind in the trash i have to give her her a malatonin at night to help her sleep she wakes up early and does it all over again some days are better then others so i try to maintain the best i can and keeping her mind calm and focused she enjoys watching musical cartoons writing in her note pad and lisening to her music and cleaning so i allow her to stay occupied much as possible its definately a daily challenge but thats my daughter and i love her to death
