Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 9)

Updated

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

Thank you

Niacin (vitamin b3) can cure schizo or any mental illness. Please check out videos of dr abram hoffer on YouTube.

It's the invega and it doesn't get any better, just worse. Try to get your dr to wing you off this medicine. It's bad stuff. I know from experience. Try some activated charcoal to release the poison from your body.

Re: Sandh (# 155) Expand Referenced Message

If it helps you can try activated charcoal. This is used to absorb poison from the body and it's sold in vitamin form as well.

Start her with a small dose, vitamin b3 makes you flush your skin red, and itchy the first 30 minutes when you take it but over time it stops happening. No problem. Good luck. Once invega is out of my body I will start taking niacin for preventive measures. Hope your daughter gets better.

I will try, I'm almost 8 months off since my last injection with no improvement. Thanks, I'll check it out. Are you giving it to your daughter? How is she doing being 8 months off the drug?

It depends on the milligrams and how long you've been on this inj... That's why I say don't go any further, get yourself winged off this medicine asap and start building your immune system up with healthy foods and vitamins, hemp seed, black seed oil - 4000 mg daily, start doing healthy green leaf smoothies with walnut or almonds & maybe a protein powder. Blueberries lower your sugar levels, goji berries are good as well. Anything that helps with the brain. Dr.'s wont tell you this because their job is to keep us unknowledgeable of these things so they can keep making money off of us.

I was on lithium and invega for 3 months from January to march 2017. Almost 8 months off. I read this article on psychiatric-drugs-risks stating that antipsychotics can cause brain damage, whereas some parts of the brain can slowly die & shrink. I'm scared. Will your daughter, I and other people who took these nasty drugs recover fully from them? Please someone show hope. It's scary.

Guys, use of antipsychotic drugs shrink the brain & causes brain damage. Are we ever going to recover? Looks like we may be affected for a lifetime. This is so sad.

@jhonny - how are you doing? Any improvements?

The 4000 mg is meant for the niacin you can start @250mg to start though

Sandh,

Thanks for asking. She's doing much better. The voices and hallucinating are slowly going away. She's a lot more coherent now. I can actually talk to her where she hears me and what I ask of her. Her appetite coming back and she actually tells me she feels much better and smiles at me. When she's really feeling good she gets into this energetic mode and starts cleaning the house and listening to her music which really calms her mood. I'm just happy every time I see her smile that really touches my heart as a parent especially knowing that god's been hearing my prayers.

Sandh,

Yes she did have a flush but that's normal. That just means the medicine is working. Plus it only lasts for a little while then it goes away.

I will start niacin too. Hopefully, it reverses any brain shrinkage caused by invega. How much are you giving her? I read few people saying they are not the same person after the inj's... Antipsychotics changed them and their personalities. Do you think people can be permanently affected?
