I would like to know what the clear form of codeine liquid is used for and how many milligrams it is? ## If it is a cough syrup, then that is what it would be used for, to help prevent coughing, however, I cannot tell you anything from just the color. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. However, it should be noted that there is also a liquid that just contains Codeine, without other active ingredients, which is used to treat pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Took a codeine pill last Monday for a tooth ache ...took a swab drug testtoday...will it show up? ## No, it shouldnt. If you dont take them on a regular basis. Swab tests arent a Long time test. So I randomly just googled this website because I am a complete i**** and really scared. I didn't know the effects of codeine and alcohol mixed and took about 10-15 mg of codeine and around a shot and a half of vodka. I'm male and 176 pounds. After I became aware of the dangers I made myself throw up (15 minutes or so after consuming). Should I be alright? Thank you guys.

What is the safest and most effective way of extracting codeine from paracetemol. I took Gen Payne for a terrible headache I had. It worked like a charm, but my nose started itching like I am having a hayfever attack. Could this be a side effect or do you think that it might have been hayfever? ## It's definitely not hayfever but probably the codeine in the tablets which caused the itching. Codeine is routinely converted to morphine in the body in order for it to be an effective painkiller. One of the side effects of taking morphine is a horrible but sometimes pleasurable itch. I've been on long term use of morphine and it would always start with my nose itching then my torso and my legs. Hope I could answer your question

Good day,My mom age 65 has a persistant coughing,and she suffers from sinus also.My mom is allergic of Asprin.The docter at the pharmacy prescribed,Broncleer.please I would like to know if theres any asprin in Broncleer with codeine cough syrup?

Is a tec 30 stronger than a percocet 5? Is taking a tec 30 the same as taking a percocet 30? ## If I am not mistaken TEC 30 contains 30 mg of Codeine, whereas a Percocet 5 contains 5 mg of Oxycodone. As far as comparisons go I had a look at the Equianalgesic table and it's showing that Codeine is 1/10th the relative strength of Morphine, where as Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than Morphine. So to break that down ... 30 mg of Codeine ≅ 3 mg of Morphine ... 5 mg of Oxycodone ≅ 7.5 mg of Morphine. In other words, a Percocet 5 is over twice as strong as 30 mg of Codeine.

I am taking codeine syrup taking 100 ml in a day. I am a Canadian resident in Costa Rica since 1984. I have a lot of med. problems. I found a pill in my son's pants. It is a pink tablet with the word MAX imprinted on on side and nothing else on the other. Not sure what it is or does. Been taking tylenol #4 for over 4years. Prior taking tylenol #3 for 11 years, my Dr switched to tylenol #4 due to increased pain level. I take it responsibly, 1/4th at a time with 1/4 Phenergan. Have gone 60 Days aaa self test, no addiction. Must be a rarity. Never have had withdrawal from anything, not even Klonopin taken hrs apart of #4's. ## Not everyone becomes addicted to any given substance, some people are just not prone to it. I have been on Hydromorph Contin 6mg for 2yrs for spinal stenosis and disc problems and the doctor gradually has increased the dosage (I take 2 pills in the am and 2 in the pm). The problem is that I have a sensitivity to codeine and morphine and eventually I cannot take the meds anymore. Is there other painkillers I can take that are not derived from codeine or morphine? I have also been on fentnyl patches but am allergic to the glue used on the patch. ## Did the Fentanyl help? Was the problem with it just caused by the allergy to the glue? I have had serious back pain for 2.4 years and I have been taking Morphine & Tylenol 4 for most of that time. After about 1.5 years of use of morphine and Tylenol 4, the urine tests are showing I'm taking Hydrocodone. I'm not. Can the 2 drugs cause a false hydrocodone report?

I have a drug test coming up for probation and I've taken hydrocodone. I do have script for Tylenol 4. Am I ok? ## It depends on the specific test which is ordered. Tylenol # 4 contains Codeine (not Hydrocodone), so you are talking about 2 different opiates. Some tests either give a "yes" or "no" that an opiate was detected, others can actually tell the difference. For example, in urine testing, an Immunoassay would give a simple "positive" result for opiates ... but a Mass Spectrometry test (either Gas or Liquid, aka GC/MS, LC/MS) can provide more details about the specific opiate detected.
