Clonazepam Help Me (Page 9)
UpdatedI have always used the same brand of clonazepam. However they changed what is in the medication. I've been gravely ill because my body can't take the change. Now I want to not take it any longer because it's making me ill. How can I detox slowly if I don't have a decent batch of clo that agrees with me? If anyone has any real information please let me know. I'm ill feeling every day if I take it it makes me ill and get withdrawal If I don't take it I get still getting withdrawal.
Hi Sarah, thought I would make contact with you. How are you doing? And you sister and mom. I am afraid one day they will wipe out this forum and I will lose contact and you have been a blessing to talk to. Sandoz called and wanted lot numbers from Klonopin, do you know yours. I'll have to call drug store for mine. Also, this Adderall I picked up I feel something strange is going on. Drug Stores are promoting it as name brand but FDA said it is not a name brand. I just know I took a little pinch and my heart went into overdrive. Teva has bought up so many Pharmaceutical companies a person don't really know anymore. God Bless an Keep in touch
Good morning Jacqueline, I didn't send you a msg this morning because I didn't want you to strain your eyes. It's a real shame what's happening with that Adderall. How are your eyes feeling today, any better? I went to Mass yesterday especially to pray for you. Omg, I truly hope that you can find the right medications soon. I'm not doing too bad, but not really that good. At least better than before. Let me know how your doing. May God Bless you.
Sarah, don't worry about me straining my eyes it was very painful yesterday but the pain is gone now. The doc said after he does the other one on twenty seventh we may have to look at a stronger lens. I felt it the day my eyes felt like they were frying in acid but I can't remember just what medicine I had just taken. I believe that was the cause of the allergic bumps on my eye. That happened two times. As far as the film developing over the lens I haven't really got a chance to get an answer from the dr. Why that happened. His nurse told me about 20 percent get that. It freaked me out when I tried to read my phone and I put my hand over one eye and then the other and could not focus and see not one word. Now today I took just 10mg of the new Adderall that was about 30 minutes ago and so for my heart rate is stable. The lady from the FDA called back and said the Adderall I just picked up is an actual name brand. Even though this name brand Paxil does not make me as sick like the other pills, I stay nauseated a good bit and it's not helping as much as before for the anxiety. Is your sister still taking Zoloft? When I took it, it kept me from sleeping at all. But I may give it another try. 50mg is what's recommended for anxiety. I definitely need to find a good generic brand. Thanks so much for your concern and prayers I don't know you but you seem so much like a caring person. It's a blessing that we happened to have crossed paths. I just hope one day I will find an antidepressant that I can tolerate and it will help the anxiety plus the chronic fatigue. God Bless and Be Safe
Hi Jacqueline, I'm glad to hear that the pain you experienced yesterday is gone now. I went back on some of the comments and found that you started to feel the burning in your eyes during the month that you had to change brands of Adderall at that same time you took that Valproic Acid. I read it on your comment # 41. I'm hoping that the new Adderall will work well for you and that the Paxil will soon start helping your depression. I think that anxiety and depression cause burning mouth syndrome. Hopefully once you find the right medications the burning mouth will go away. Last time I saw my sister she was doing ok but she also notice that the Zoloft giving to her in the hospital was better than the one she picked up at the drug store. God willing the new Adderall will work well for you.
You are always in my prayers. God Bless you.
Hi Jacqueline, I'm back : ) I was wondering maybe the medication are causing you to have chronic fatigue. Do you take vitamins or probiotics? I would think if you have a vitamin deficiency your doctor's would have told you so. But check with them anyway. My neighbor today told me that her doctor told her that she has a vitamin b12 difecency. She's always had a problem taking vitamins. Me I've always taken lots of vitamins. It was just thought that I wanted to bring up for you, that may help with the chronic fatigue. God Bless get rest.
Hello Sarah!
Firstly, yeah, maybe VitB Complex Strong (the approved name for those tabs/caps/whatever they are) would assist with fatigue for a day or two, but certainly NOT chronic fatigue, which will almost certainly have an underlying cause - which is what needs treating. And in many people, the B vitamins don't have that sort of effect; deficiencies should always be treated with the Vit B Complex Strong, but that deficiency is caused, in about 90% of cases (source: WebMD) by either a poor, unbalanced diet (a proper diet contains enough B Vits to assure your levels are always within the parameters) or overuse of alcohol; ethanol destroys B vitamins, all of them but particularly thiamine.
However, on to clonazepam. Roche withdrew the superb original name brand (Rivotril - but for some strange reason, just as in one country only they brand their flunitrazepam as 'Hipnosedon', rather than the worldwide 'Rohypnol', in a single country also the worldwide 'Rivotril' brand is 'Klonopin') here in the UK around 10 months ago; I am now dispensed the Auden McKenzie generic; I have been forced to pay a lot for real Rivotril by Roche, or the Roche-licenced Rivotril by galenika or Abbott Healthcare India, which are identical - though for some reason I find the Galenika to be of higher quality and more effective even than Roche Suisse! My pharmacist can't import it for me; she reckons, and she has had many similar complaints, that the excipients, the binders and fillers, somehow inhibit bioavailability, which leads to the 2mg of clonazepam per tablet NOT being properly and efficiently taken up by my body and thus my brain.
And YES INDEED, that makes me feel sometimes like I am in some kind of withdrawals; of course, that is not actually possible because there IS 2mg clonazepam entering my system, but it sure feels like I would require five or six daily to have the same effect as real Roche or Galenika Rivotril. It feels a bit like when the doctor insisted that I cut my lorazepam down from 4 x 2.5mg tabs per day to only TWO - from 10mg/day to 5mg/day - over the course of a year... it was done by reducing by 500mcg (0.5mg) every month, or two months, which ever I felt most comfortable with. Problem was I did not feel comfortable with a drop of 500mcg at all. Each drop felt like a hell of a lot, and it is quite difficult to juggle both strengths, the 1mg and 2.5mg - needed a pill-splitter, of course, to split the lowest available strength into 2 x 0.5mg pieces - so that I was getting as close to the correct quarter of whatever daily dose I was on in any specific month; I managed, with great difficulty, to achieve the target of 5mg per day in 15 months and still, five months into the new 5mg regimen, taking half a tablet (1.25mg) on qds basis, I still feel pretty dreadful and that it isn't working as it should, I feel that my anxiety levels have increased. They tell me that my body and brain will get used to it "in time" whatever that means, and I should expect to feel something is wrong since I have been on benzodiazepines constantly since 1976.
As regards the generic clonazepam, like I was trying to illustrate there, that feels similar though more serious since it is for prophylaxis of epilepsy, and I have had a few episodes of what I call my 'electric head' - a forewarning of impending seizure - since the change, when I am unable to afford the real thing and have no option but those awful Auden things. I know thee are a couple of other generics around, Actavis do one and so do Teva, but I doubt they would be much different since their (especially Teva) generic benzos are mostly utter garbage. On the other hand, I have spoken to a couple of people who use the same ones as I do and don't have any complaints at all. Weird. Mind you, lorazepam has the reputation of being the worst benzo of all for withdrawals, and Wyeth, makers of the original proprietary brand (Temesta, Ativan, Trapax or Tavor dependent on where you live) were sued back in the 80s, not too long after it was introduced, because of so many people suffering terrible withdrawal symptoms, even at some of the lowest possible doses like 1 x 1mg twice daily; they won the case, though, on a 'risks v benefits' defense. I'm only on lorazepam because the cost of my Xanax script became prohibitive. There is no generic alprazolam at all available in the UK, they withdrew the 1 and 2mg strengths many years ago, and we have the most expensive 500mcg Xanax I have ever seen; I required 12 tabs daily and that was taking up almost my entire disability benefit, leaving me with not a lot to survive on.
So you have my sympathy; however it would seem from your answers that you are American, so Rivotril - Roche's brand there (yes, that's the single country I was referring to) is, oddly, 'Klonopin' - IS still available; you aren't suffering this Government's NHS policy of dispensing only the cheapest generic everything; so why not ask for your doctor to prescribe BY BRAND? That is what I used to do before Roche took it off the market here because they simply weren't selling. Like almost all original proprietary brands of EVERYTHING. At least we still have real OxyContin, AND the cheapest generic happens to be precisely the same tablet as the brand-name 'OC' tablet! Made by the same company on the same production line, same imprint, just packed in a different blister and box distributed by Qdem, not Napp (who distribute them in the UK, and who remain the only company to offer all strengths from the 5mg to the 120mg 'OC' tabs!) or Mundipharma. In the US, there are thousands of people who obtain their OxyContin illicitly from here, Romania, Hungary, Belgium & c., because real OxyContin has been banned there and replaced by Purdue-made, dreadful, half-strength and side-effect ridden 'OP' tablets, which I HAVE tried and can confirm are as bad as claimed. I am at a loss as to how on earth they manage to sell ANY of those at all; they turn into some sort of plastic, rubbery, gum kind of stuff when sucked and can not be bitten in half or quarters or powdered as I sometimes have to do when my pain is so bad I need an IR and would have thought that the vast majority of folks on oxycodone would be using IR capsules or tablets by now instead of paying the cost of getting them from Europe. Then again, I am paying sometimes almost the equivalent of $1 per tablet for Rivotril unless I can afford a LOT of boxes of the Galenika, when they cost only €9 per box, which is a superb price. You have my sympathy, and I know what it feels like, so why not simply demand of your doc that you are prescribed by brand and get real Roche ones?
Zuboran, Thanks for the info on the B vitamin. The problem is I don't know how the brand name will work for me and the drug stores won't order the brand name unless I buy at least 90. God Bless
Google Translate (may not be 100% accurate):
To stop with clonazepam, you have to first 'replace' with a similar 'benzodiazepine'. Diazepam is the most used because it is long lasting. Chlordiazepoxide is also similar, however, you will probably have to choose which medication to replace clonazepam. I took, under prescription, for 6 months uninterrupted 'daily' 6 mg. 1 mg early, 1 to late and 4 mg at night. There came a time when my anxiety no longer withstand clonazepam, neither increasing, nor maintaining the dosage. Clonazepam, for certain people, is not addictive, and only works for a 'short period'. Passed from this, leave state of irritation, exaggerated moodiness. No point to decrease, stop, or continue with clonazepam medication. You have to trade for a similar one. If it does not work out there, just by going through 'other classes', of anxiolytics, like buspirone, and even trying carbamazepine. It is best not to take it in the morning. Leave it for as late as possible. End of the day, preferably, or at night. Any benzodiazepine is sensitive to the incidence of direct 'sunrays'. A benzodiazepine antagonist, not flumazenil, such as prolintane, modafinil, among others, may be useful for the discontinuation of clonazepam and other benzodiazepines; provided there are no serious cardiac problems. And 'multivitamin' associations may also be helpful. Depending on the 'indication', I believe that taking 'benzodiazepine' every day is not harmful at all; but like clonazepam, it can be 'very serious'.
I have been meaning to ask if u have tried this new medication called "Brintellex"? (spelling probably wrong) but my dr gave me a BUNCH of samples to replace my alprazolam (bc most dr's especially the newer dr's offices bc they "dot all their i's" and "cross all their t's" bc of all of the different regulations changed by the DEA) and it's not "illegal" but it's frowned upon if a dr prescribes pt's more than 1 narcotic depending on the condition, the class of the drug or schedule whatever, how long you've been on it and if it is habit forming, and due to interactions bc it's a damn shame that more dr's don't pay attn to other meds ur on that THEY GAVE U sometimes when ur there to talk about another issue which can actually be quite fatal), but the med I'm talkin about is a PREVENTATIVE.... Not a remedy, if u will. Meaning it is one of those you have to build up in ur system b4 u even notice a possible affect on urself, it does not help make panic or anxiety attacks go away, but it prevents u from being overwhelmed or depressed bc of ur mind wandering causing u to think about the things that u know upset u. I hate that u r "med shopping" so much rt now. That's a lot of different substances, no wonder u can't tell if any specific medication is actually helping. Get ALL of em outta ur system 1st. Anyway, God bless and take care.
Hi Sarah, sorry I have been late in responding to your vitamin issue. All of that has been checked and the only vitamin that was low was D. The doctor said I was completely depleted of that so I have to take one prescription dose each week. My chronic fatigue stems from Fibromyalgia with Chronic Fatigue. The doctor said that although my blood test this time showed negative for Shortens I still had the syndrome. I feel almost positively my burning mouth is coming from my medicine. However anxiety an depression plays a part. I am dealing with a problem of having to use a strong pain med at this time. Every since last October when I was on the stretcher to go into the operating room and the surgery was canceled I was put on Vicodin but they had to increase to Percocet to give me relief for my mouth and I feel like I am getting addicted to that. The so called name brand Adderall is almost worthless. The pharmacist had told me a few weeks ago it was identical to the generic. It's both by Teva. I have really felt bad today that's why I late responding. God Bless
Excuse the phone mistake it is not Shortens it's Sjorgens.
Dear Jacqueline, I'm at a lost for words with all that you are going through. And omg, it's really a shame that the Adderall isn't working for you. I can only keep praying that you will soon find a solution to ease your pain. You mentioned that you were suppose to be operated on in October and that it was cancelled. What were you going to be operate on for? And why did they cancel it? I've tried thinking of solutions for you but I'm sorry that they are not helpful. I hope at least the pain med is helping you. God Bless you Jacqueline.
Please keep in touch...
A prayer for you Jacqueline.
Loving God, as I face this day, I come to You with my fears and hopes. I ask You for the courage and strength to face this time in my life with confidence in Your loving care and protection. May the knowledge that You are always with me be an assurance to me that I need not worry nor be afraid. Calm my nerves, dear God, put my mind at ease, and in Your mercy forgive my lack of faith and trust.
Oh God, send your peace and blessings upon me to sustain me. Help me to let go of the fears that make me feel restless and insecure.
Give to my physician and all those entrusted with my care the wisdom and the skill to do their tasks with ease and accuracy.
Into Your hands I entrust my well being and my healing in body, in mind, and in spirit. For You are our strength and our safety forever and ever, Amen
Sarah, my surgery was scheduled for Oct 2015. The lumbar vertebraes no longer have any disk and it's bone on bone. They were going to fuse that area. I was very nervous because I had heard some bad things. It just so happen I let them know I had taken aspirin three days prior and by me doing that they cancelled the surgery and I think that was a blessing from God. I could have came out worse. But I had already had 2 back surgeries. The cervical fused, and a part of the lumbar. This new surgery was going to be right under the previous fushion. I was in pain management several years ago like I said but was able to make do on my own. Now I have been back in pain management since Oct. 2015. However a month ago after I began suffering from this burning mouth they gave me a stronger med and now that it's been almost a year I am feeling withdrawals if I don't take this everyday. I go back to psy doctor on Monday and I have to let him know that this so called name brand Adderall makes me feel like I am having a heart attack. We have tried just about everything. I just have to see on Monday. God Bless for caring and Pray we find something.
Good morning Jacqueline. I feel so bad that you have been in so much pain and withdrawal. I hope that the Percocet is at least relieving the pain. I hope and pray that you don't get addicted to the pain meds. Hoping that today will be a better day for you. God Bless you.
Jacqueline, Look up alternative to Adderall and check with your psy. about them. There are some vitamins that may help.
God Bless
Hi Sarah, I go back to the psy doctor Monday. I think the only other thing he uses is Concerts which I believe is Ritalin and possibly Wynase. I tried Ritalin probably 30 years ago I didn't do well on that at all and the other remains in your system for too many hours. I know I have got to try and get back off of this Paxil, it's just not working like it did and I am tired of feeling nauseous. He may get mad at me because he has changed so many Adderall prescriptions of one's I could not take but I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest yesterday. CVS called me and he got the Sandoz Brand. According to the reviews that one effects the heart the least so I would like to try. I am now having severe problems with the pain med. I am going into bad withdrawals before next dose is do so I am trying to taper. I realize now that it was actually the Percocet that was making my mouth burn less. However it did begin at the time I burnt my mouth with the Valporic Acid and started TEVA brand Adderall. This so called name brand is TEVA also. Last Dec. the Rheumatologist put me on Cymbals 30 mg and it was doing fairly well for a couple of weeks then the psy doctor upped it to 60. I was never so sick in my life. I am positive I developed Seration Syndrome. I could not even be with my kids at Christmas. All I did for 3 weeks was hold my head and say something is wrong with my brain. Well I kept you long enough. I just took a little piece of the pain tablet to ease the stomach so I wanted to get back with you why I could write. Excuse all the spelling and just keep Praying for this old body to heal. Keep me informed on how you are doing.
Dear Jacqueline, My heart goes out for you to hear what you have been going through.I understand because I've experienced it myself. I hope that the doctor can send something to the drug store to help you with the withdrawal symptoms.
I'm glad that they sent through the prayer I sent to you last night it's # 174 it's a very comforting prayer. Please don't let your psy. get to you. He's suppose to be there to help you and if the medications are making you so ill he needs to understand that. I went to Mass again this morning to pray for you to find the right med. and I lit a candle for you. It's sad that you couldn't spend Christmas with your family. Sometimes Christmas doesn't go as we would like it to but it's still Christmas. As always you are in my prayers. May God Bless you.
1st choice, I looked up the Brintellex that you suggested. It has horrible reviews. Be careful. Look it up yourself doesn't sound like a good medication.
